Yang Chan retrieved the stone coffer from the base of the stele.
He had already examined the material of the stele. It was ordinary bluestone, with nothing particularly special about it. It was relatively hard, but that was only in comparison to normal stone; in his hands, it easily turned to powder.
When Yang Chan channeled his Power, the bluestone's hardness became trivial. With a slight twitch of his fingers, it would turn to dust, and with a gentle puff of air, it would scatter back into the dirt.
The stone coffer before him, however, was quite interesting. A seam ran across the entire box, as if it was being forcibly held shut.
It seemed as if the massive stele had been acting as a seal. Seeing this, Yang Chan did not immediately open it.
