The ultimate goal of most Demon Skills is to transform the cultivator into a True Demon that can reside in the world.
Within the domains of the Six Great Sects, destitute Demon Cultivators often lack a proper lineage. They can only rely on crude Demon Skills of unknown origin to practice Breathing and Exhaling Demonic Qi, refining themselves into bizarre Demons, becoming neither human nor demon.
Those in slightly better circumstances, such as the Withered Daoist, could use the Demon Summoning Scripture to summon the lowest-grade Beast Demons from beyond the Nine Heavens to breathe in Muddy Qi and convert it to Demonic Qi for them. While they largely maintained a human form, they had to feed the Beast Demons with their own Essence Blood, causing them to become gaunt and emaciated over time.
Those like the Profound Cyan Old Demon, however, often met the most miserable ends. After rashly obtaining a Superior Demon Scripture, they would begin their cultivation through Demon Summoning.
