It was Saturday morning again. Yan Feifan made breakfast, dragged his sister, who loved to sleep in, out of bed, and they went to the dining room to eat together.
Yan Ziruo, her eyes heavy with sleep, looked at the boiled eggs, wontons, and two small cold side dishes on the table, feeling no appetite at all.
She yawned and said, "Feifan, you can't live life so tightly wound all the time. You have to relax and let loose once in a while."
"Tell me, when was the last time you slept in?"
Yan Feifan stated matter-of-factly, "Two hundred and ninety-four days ago. Before that, I lazed around in bed for a year and three months."
After a brief pause, he added, "I don't sleep in because I have things that bring me more joy, both mentally and physically, than lazing in bed."
"And those things are studying and working."
Yan Ziruo couldn't help but roll her eyes. She ran a hand through her messy, shoulder-length hair.
