"Daddy…"
As the sweet, soft voice called out, Teng Wenfeng, who had just walked through the door, saw a tiny, doll-like figure pattering toward him on bare feet.
Teng Wenfeng quickly bent down, scooped up his five-year-old daughter, and gave her little nose a playful tweak.
"Nannan, it's past ten o'clock. Why aren't you asleep yet?"
Little Nannan gave him a sweet smile without answering, simply wrapping her arms around his neck.
Just then, a young woman in her thirties walked over with a soft laugh.
"This little one was fighting sleep, but she perked right up the moment she heard you come home."
"Look at her, running out to greet you without even putting on her slippers."
Teng Wenfeng shot his wife a triumphant look and gently patted his daughter's back twice.
She rolled her eyes at him and asked, "How did it go with that person?"
Teng Wenfeng said softly, "It was so-so."
