Chapter 27 - Whose Fault Is It? 2

SILENCE....

Only the breeze brought words.

Blood flowed like a river down my neck and soaked into my tank top.

A high-pitched whistling sound pierced my eardrums on both sides, and my eye couldn't stop blinking and watering.

The portal opens fully on the professor, frozen like a statue, his hand on his hip, scrutinizing the scene.

The silence was so long and heavy that my throat tightened.

Sliding my hand down the back of the neck

Silence.....

– in less than 30 minutes…

The professor breathed, bringing his hand to his mouth.

I back away to the side, breathless, holding my aching head.

Luc, on the contrary, moved closer and put an arm around Alex and lifted him up

He was swaying from side to side, his jaw was blood red and he could no longer close his mouth, hissing with every breath.

The professor walks towards him and raises his head before exhaling a large puff of air to the side.

– problems on legs

Luke advances

- Sir-

– shut

Cut the professor

Luc immediately retracts his statement.

– the three of you,

the professor resumed

– I want to see your parents first thing tomorrow morning, so I'm going to the infirmary.

He ordered

"I didn't do anything," protested Luc

But he dismissed us without even giving us the benefit of the doubt.

I was already outside

I knew, I didn't want to come

Luc tackles me and walks away with Alex on his back, taking his time to size me up with his dark eyes.

"You could have avoided hurting me," I murmured to myself.

I almost collapsed in the street

– hha~

She ignored me with one of those classic silences

That insolent one

In those moments I wish I could disappear or just teleport; it's a shame, but I live in harsh, simple reality.

Hum....

You've never taken responsibility for your actions; I can't even point you out without being seen as crazy.

– it's a pain in the ass...

I might be crazy

Step by step, like an alcoholic I advance, crossing the alleyways, avoiding and ignoring the questions that passersby ask me.

– (I have a headache)

Scraping the dried blood from the back of my neck, the bleeding had finally stopped.

And I could relax and push open the gate of my house

Silence

Even the gate didn't creak.

– François...…

– François...…

– François...…

– François...…

– François...…

– François...…

I murmured vaguely

In my head or with my lips?

I'm having trouble figuring it out...

I slip and lie down at the foot of the stairs, letting myself be carried away by the sweetness of sleep.

In total darkness

TACK !

TACK !

TACK !

TACK !

TACK !

TACK !

TACK !

 ..

TACK !

 .

 .

TACK !

 .

 .

 .

TACK !

the echo of the drops on my forehead

"What do you want?" I murmured.

Immersed in a puddle of water, enveloped by a calm, dark, and cold atmosphere.

Above me,

She

His eyes narrowed, a wicked smile on his lips

Dripping water on my forehead

"You called me," she murmured, like a sweet melody.

– you're starting that again-

Cut short by a drop falling to the back of my throat

"That's not funny," I scolded her.

"I find it funny," she smiled.

"You're in no position to tell me what to do," she spat.

He leaned closer to my face, staring deep into my pupils.

– You think I'm going to restrain myself and obey you now that I'm no longer obliged to follow your orders, huh!

Then he poured the entire dregs of his glass of water over my head.

– Don't forget that you're the one who abandoned me

I startle but can't move, as if stuck or sinking into the ground.

– Knock… Knock Knock… Knock Knock!

Cough

I'm suffocating at first

My wavering conscience

"Be careful," she sneered.

– the more you use me, the more space I'll take up and one day I'll….

...…..

Her voice could no longer reach me and had faded into the distance, far away like her image, far away… Far, far away…
