As Yang An stepped on the ashes, a soft crunching sound came from under his feet. He moved slowly, his eyes scanning the surroundings, his expression grave. He was on high alert, seeing enemies in every shadow.

The residence wasn't large—just a courtyard and a few rooms. Yang An had a strong feeling the man was hiding somewhere in the dark, watching him, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
He was growing anxious. Activating so many Techniques at once had consumed an immense amount of Mana. The remaining Mana in his acupoints could probably only sustain him for a few more moments.
