Chapter 3 - Unnamed

It takes impermanence, suffering, and pain in all things as its theory, methods such as the Four Noble Truths, dependent origination, and the Five Aggregates, and the attainment of unconditioned freedom as its goal.

It emphasizes renunciation and liberation. Renunciation requires the Human Clan to abandon all desires and continuously Cultivate themselves, while liberation believes that the world is full of suffering and one must break free from the pain of the human world.

Compared to the core of the Human Dao he comprehended—'As Heaven maintains vigor through movements, a Noble Man should unremittingly practice self-improvement'—which is completely opposite, this will naturally greatly impact the unification of Human Clan thought.

What's more, it is currently a turbulent era, and the Lords of a State are vying for unification of the world, with war possibly breaking out at any time.

Once war breaks out, even if the Human Clan Luck, suppressed by the Nine Heavenly Tablets, does not decline, the lives of the Human Clan's common people will definitely be affected.

He clearly understood how fatal the Western Religion's ideology could be to the common people during wartime; once it spreads among the Human Clan, it would definitely not be a good thing.

"Indeed! You have an understanding of the Heavenly Dao and Human Dao, and your comprehension is extremely high. Can you provide a solution?" Laozi replied truthfully.

His purpose in saying these words was actually to tentatively ask Confucius if he had a solution.

Since Confucius brought it up proactively, he naturally wouldn't choose to conceal his purpose and thoughts.

"There is one thing I don't understand: why is the Western Religion destined to flourish?" King Zhou asked.

"Actually, this matter is not without a solution. As far as I know, the reason the Western Religion is about to flourish is because Dao Ancestor Hongjun and Demon Ancestor Luohu's battle caused the Western lands to dry up and their Spiritual Veins to be severed, incurring Karma for Dao Ancestor Hongjun.

After causing such a situation, Dao Ancestor Hongjun had no choice but to make some compensation to the West, which is also the reason why the Western Religion must flourish," Laozi said.

He knew that the flourishing of the Western Religion was something established by Dao Ancestor Hongjun and could not be changed.

"Emperor Yu, one of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, once said during his flood control efforts: 'It is better to divert than to block!'

The flourishing of the Western Religion is in line with the Heavenly Dao. Since it cannot be stopped, then let's divert this flourishing momentum!" King Zhou said.

Since the flourishing of the Western Religion cannot be stopped, it would be better to find another way to change the manner of its flourishing.

His method could delay the Western Religion's entry into the Human Clan and would also directly affect the Western Religion's situation.

This method, in the history he understood, Laozi had once attempted it, which was precisely the 'Transforming Barbarians into Buddhas' strategy!

"How to divert the flourishing momentum of the Western Religion?" Laozi asked, his face filled with pleasant surprise.

He had originally only wanted Confucius to offer some opinions, but now it seemed that Confucius truly had a solution.

Diverting the flourishing momentum of the Western Religion? Upon hearing these words, a vague method seemed to form in his mind.

"Transforming Barbarians into Buddhas! The flourishing and increase in Luck of the Western Religion cannot be stopped, but one can establish Mahayana Buddhism to divide the Western Religion's Luck and control the situation in one's own hands.

As far as I know, the current Western Religion can only achieve one person becoming a Buddha, with no possibility for other Western Religion Disciples to achieve Buddhahood. This can be called Hinayana Buddhism.

If one person can spread Buddhist doctrines within the Western Religion, allowing everyone to become a Buddha, that would be Mahayana Buddhism.

In this way, the Western Religion will definitely split internally. The emergence of Mahayana Buddhism will definitely give the two Sages of the Western Religion a headache; how then will they have the mind to spread Western Religion doctrines among the Human Clan!" King Zhou said.

This was precisely his method. Laozi, the Taiqing Sage's Three Corpses, had already sensed the opportunity for the Western Religion's great flourishing.

Then, it was clear that the Western Religion's Daoist Zhunti and Daoist Jieyin had also sensed it. He guessed that the two Sages of the Western Religion were definitely planning for the Western Religion's flourishing at this moment.

If one person were sent to establish Mahayana Buddhism within the Western Religion, it could even directly affect the Western Religion's Foundation.

This move would directly destabilize the Western Religion's old Western stronghold. How then could Daoist Zhunti and Daoist Jieyin proceed with spreading the Western Religion's influence eastward to the Human Clan?

"What a brilliant 'better to divert than to block,' and what a brilliant 'Transforming Barbarians into Buddhas'!

Since obstruction is not possible, then directly split the Western Religion! Hinayana Buddhism and Mahayana Buddhism are truly wonderful beyond words, wonderful beyond words!" Laozi exclaimed, his face filled with astonishment.

He was full of praise for Confucius's method. Confucius's method was not only feasible but also directly targeted the core of the Western Religion.

For the Western Religion as it currently stood, this was indeed true; the other Disciples of the Western Religion had no possibility of becoming Buddhas.

If the Mahayana Buddhism doctrine of 'everyone can become a Buddha' appeared, it would be a fatal blow to the Western Religion's interior. The Western Religion would definitely split internally due to the doctrine.

At this moment, Confucius's ingenious idea made him think of a familiar person.

He even felt that the Confucius before him was extremely similar to King Zhou!

Chapter 296: Western Religion Schemes Against the Human Clan!

Beyond the Thirty-Three Heavens, within the Dao field established by the two Sages of the Western Religion.

Daoist Zhunti and Daoist Jieyin sat opposite each other, with three figures standing behind each of them, who were their respective Three Corpses.

Over the past three years, the Three Corpses dispatched by Daoist Zhunti and Daoist Jieyin had already traveled through various regions of the Human Clan.

At this moment, their Three Corpses had also returned to their side, bringing back information about the current situation of the Human Clan.

During these three years, through the messages transmitted by their Three Corpses, they had thoroughly understood the current pattern of the Human Clan.

Firstly, the central authority of Great Shang had declined. It merely held the title of the Great Shang Dynasty, but its actual strength was already inferior to that of smaller Marquis.

It was a name without substance, like a mere decoration.

Although no major wars had broken out among the various major Marquis, minor skirmishes along the borders were constant.

Wars and annexations among smaller Marquis were common occurrences, and behind these smaller Marquis, there were shadows of these larger Lords of a State in the wars and annexations.

Every Marquis desired to complete the great task of unification, fulfilling the original aspiration of Great Shang to unify the world.

Therefore, in their view, a major war among the Human Clan was bound to break out sooner or later; it was only a matter of time.

If the two of them were to intentionally push for it, then a major war among the Human Clan's Marquis might very well break out earlier.

Aside from the situation of royal power being usurped and Marquis standing in great numbers, the Human Clan's thought was also extremely chaotic. The academic conflicts among the Hundred Schools of Thought were constant, and no academic faction was willing to yield to another.

The Hundred Schools of Thought differed from each other, and the Marquis they supported also differed. Moreover, each academic faction believed that its own doctrine could serve as the Foundation for establishing a nation.

They departed from Lu and acted separately; Daoist Jieyin's Three Corpses headed east, and Daoist Zhunti's Three Corpses headed west.

Along the way, they had many experiences and witnessed the implementation of various Hundred Schools of Thought, and even met some of the leaders of these schools.

In general, the Human Clan's thought was currently in chaos, and every Hundred Schools of Thought seemed to consider governing the nation and the world as their primary task.

But all of this was like a castle in the air; it sounded very logical, but it was difficult to resonate with the common people.

The multitude of Marquis had plunged these common people into dire straits. If the doctrines of their Western Religion could be popularized among the Human Clan,

Then the number of adherents and the scale of the Western Religion among the Human Clan would rapidly expand.

After traveling the world, the Three Corpses of the two of them unanimously agreed that, taking advantage of the Human Clan not being unified again and the Human Clan's thought being very chaotic,

Their Western Religion could completely take advantage of the situation. This current time was the best opportunity to spread the Western Religion among the Human Clan.

"Junior Brother Zhunti, you have seen the results of the Three Corpses' travels. Now is the best time for us to act!" Daoist Jieyin said.

In his opinion, if they acted immediately and could successfully introduce the Western Religion into the Human Clan,

Then the flourishing of their Western Religion would only be a matter of time.

As the saying goes, opportunity knocks but once. Action should be taken as quickly as possible, otherwise, delays will lead to unforeseen changes!

"Senior Brother Jieyin is right, now is indeed the best time, but I still have some concerns!" Daoist Zhunti said.

With their Sage abilities, they could naturally see the Human Clan's situation very clearly.

They both knew very well that this era was the best time for the Western Religion to greatly enter the Human Clan.

But unlike Daoist Jieyin's eagerness, he still had some concerns and worries.

"What concerns?" Daoist Jieyin asked in confusion.

He was somewhat puzzled; with such a good opportunity, why would Daoist Zhunti still be worried?

Royal power had been usurped; the current Human Emperor of Great Shang had become a mere figurehead, unable even to mobilize or consolidate the Human Clan Luck.

Moreover, they had confirmed that the various deities of the Human Saint Court would not intervene, and the Hundred Schools of Thought were still in disarray.

In such a situation, their entry into the Human Clan's territory would face no obstacles. What else was there to worry about?

"You said that King Zhou hasn't made any moves for hundreds of years. Could he have some defenses and preparations?" Daoist Zhunti said.

He directly stated his concerns. The reason for his worry about King Zhou was that he had suffered many losses at King Zhou's hands in the past.

He still vividly remembered those encounters, especially the situation during the Investiture of the Gods, which left a deep impression on him.

King Zhou could be considered truly infallible in his calculations. Whether it was in the array setting and breaking stages, or in the final Sage battle stage, King Zhou had made thorough preparations.

Based on his understanding of King Zhou, would King Zhou truly not leave some trump cards or have some precautions?

The current King Zhou already possessed the strength of a Sage, so he couldn't help but consider King Zhou.

"Don't forget that King Zhou is now trapped in Fire Cloud Cave and is powerless to interfere with the Human Clan. If he could interfere, do you think King Zhou would allow Great Shang to crumble?

If he could interfere, would the Human Clan still be split into over a hundred Marquis now?" Daoist Jieyin said.

Unlike Sage Zhunti, he wasn't overly worried about the current King Zhou.

King Zhou had already been restricted by their teacher, Dao Ancestor Hongjun, to Fire Cloud Cave and could not leave. What else was there to fear?

Moreover, don't forget that King Zhou's original strength was only at the Golden Immortal realm. Even if he had made progress in these hundreds of years, it would only be to the Quasi-Sage realm.

The strength gained after the Human Clan Luck improved was ultimately a forcefully elevated strength.

In King Zhou's current state, even if he reached Quasi-Sage and could sever his Three Corpses, the strength of the Three Corpses would at most be at the Golden Immortal level.

How could such a situation pose any threat to their Western Religion?

Among the Human Clan, only the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors and King Zhou, a total of nine individuals, possessed significant strength.

Now, these nine individuals were all restricted to Fire Cloud Cave. Besides these nine, what else did they have to worry about?

Furthermore, if King Zhou could interfere with the Human Clan's development and leave some trump cards

So, would King Zhou allow his Great Shang Dynasty, which he allowed to continue, to directly fall apart?

He thought it was unlikely; the truth was already before his eyes: King Zhou was no longer able to interfere with the Human Clan.

"What Senior Brother Jieyin said is correct. If King Zhou could intervene in the Human Clan's situation, how could he possibly allow the Human Clan to split into various Marquis!" Zhunti Daoist said with a smile.

Hearing his Senior Brother's words, he completely let go of his apprehension.

Thinking about it, if King Zhou truly had a way, why would he just watch the forces he established fall apart?

At the very least, neither of them could watch the Western Religion collapse. Similarly, as Saints, Sect Leader Tongtian and Celestial Worthy of the Primordial Beginning could not watch Chan Cult and Jie Cult disappear.

Even as Saints, they could not remain indifferent.

How could King Zhou just watch the Great Shang in its current state? Therefore, he believed that Daoist Jieyin's guess was entirely correct.

King Zhou, trapped in Fire Cloud Cave, had no way to interfere with the Human Clan.

Or rather, the former King Zhou had once thought of intervening, but ultimately failed to do so.

Regardless of the situation, it was enough to show King Zhou's powerlessness.

Without King Zhou, what else did he have to worry about?

Originally somewhat apprehensive, he was now full of confidence!

He believed that now was the best time to act. If conditions were right, he could completely order the Western Religion Disciples to begin the eastward spread of the Western Religion.

"Junior Brother Zhunti, do you still have any concerns now?" Daoist Jieyin asked.

As long as King Zhou could not interfere with Human Clan matters, it was time to put the eastward spread of Western Religion's teachings on the agenda.

"After Senior Brother Jieyin's guidance, my thoughts are clear. This operation will be carried out entirely according to Senior Brother's arrangements!" Zhunti Daoist said cheerfully.

At this moment, he was incredibly eager for the eastward spread of Western Religion's teachings and for the great prosperity of the Western Religion.

Over these past few hundred years, the injuries he sustained from King Zhou and the Human Clan Luck had not yet recovered.

If he could obtain Human Clan Luck, then as Saints of the Western Religion, he and Daoist Jieyin would also benefit from it.

By then, not only could his injuries recover.

If he faced King Zhou again next time, he would no longer fear King Zhou's Human Clan Luck.

With this ebb and flow, King Zhou would absolutely no longer be his opponent!

"Since that's the case, let's first consolidate the Western Religion Disciples. Then, led by our Two Corpses, we will go to the Human Clan's Marquis to spread the Dharma eastward!" Daoist Jieyin said.

He quickly formulated the subsequent arrangements. The Three Corpses of both of them possessed the strength of top Quasi-Sages.

Among the Human Clan, even the guardians of the Human Saint Court only had two Quasi-Sages, and neither of them was a top Quasi-Sage.

The Three Corpses of the two of them were equivalent to six Quasi-Sages.

Under the leadership of their Two Corpses, what could the Human Clan and the Human Saint Court use to stop them?

He could already imagine the scene of Western Religion Disciples spread throughout the Human Clan.

No one could stop the destiny of the Western Religion's great prosperity!

"Since that's the case, let's tell the Disciples the news!" Zhunti Daoist readily agreed.

With no other concerns, his desire for the Western Religion's great prosperity was even more urgent than Daoist Jieyin's.

Since they had made their decision, the two Saints no longer hesitated. The next moment, the gate of the dojo had already opened.

Outside the gate, Ksitigarbha and Maitreya were still standing there, unlike before when it was just the two of them.

Upon learning that the Western Religion was about to act, most of the other Disciples of the Western Religion also gathered here.

Seeing Zhunti Daoist and Daoist Jieyin appear together with their Three Corpses, all the Western Religion Disciples' gazes turned towards the two Saints.

The Western Religion Disciples naturally understood what it meant for the Saints to appear in person.

"My Junior Brother Zhunti and I have sent our Three Corpses to the Human Clan to confirm the situation.

After discussions between my Junior Brother Zhunti and me, after consolidating our Western Religion Disciples, we will be led by our Two Corpses and enter the Human Clan to spread the teachings of our Western Religion!" Daoist Jieyin said confidently.

He stated the plan to give the Western Religion Disciples confidence.

"We respectfully obey Master's decree!" Under the leadership of Ksitigarbha and Maitreya, all the Western Religion Disciples answered in unison.

The Western Religion Disciples cheered continuously, their faces full of excitement and anticipation.

The subsequent actions would be led by the Three Corpses of the two Saints, and all the Disciples of the Western Religion would be gathered.

They believed that the Western Religion's spread of its teachings in the Human Clan and its achievement of great prosperity would definitely succeed!

Chapter 297: Who is the most suitable leader of Mahayana Buddhism?

Just as the Western Religion finalized its plans and prepared to vigorously spread the Western Religion among the Human Clan, they did not expect that someone was plotting against their Western Religion.

"Your plan is truly a strategy of drawing the firewood from under the cauldron. If the Western Religion is split, what does it matter if it prospers?" Laozi praised.

He praised Confucius from the bottom of his heart; Confucius's solution could truly be called an ingenious idea.

The teachings of the Western Religion indeed had various problems as described by Confucius.

He knew that if the teachings of Mahayana Buddhism appeared, they would quickly spread among the Disciples of the Western Religion.

He also understood that the teachings of the Western Religion were inherently somewhat incomplete, and the emergence of Mahayana Buddhism further proved this point.

Therefore, if the teachings of Mahayana Buddhism spread, even some Western Religion Disciples would be swayed.

For no other reason than that the Mahayana Buddhism's teaching of "everyone can become a Buddha" in Confucius's words was simply too appealing.

Among the Disciples of the Western Religion, who would not want to become a Buddha?

Under such circumstances, even if the Western Religion prospered, it would primarily be Mahayana Buddhism that flourished.

If the ideas of Mahayana Buddhism were spread by him, then the ultimate prosperity of the Western Religion would undoubtedly fulfill his own goals.

By then, not only would the prosperity of the Western Religion be effectively hindered, but the Zhunti Daoist and Daoist Jieyin of the Western Religion would also suffer a silent loss.

"Sir is right, as long as we find the right person, the scale of Mahayana Buddhism will definitely expand rapidly!" King Zhou said.

He was very clear about what the emergence of Mahayana Buddhism's teachings meant for the Western Religion.

It meant internal division within the Western Religion, and it meant that the Western Religion could not be completely controlled by Daoist Jieyin and Zhunti Daoist.

By then, the Foundation of the Western Religion would have problems.

How could Daoist Jieyin and Zhunti Daoist, preoccupied with their own affairs, allow the Dharma to spread eastward into the Human Clan?

According to what he originally understood, the Western Religion's plan for the eastward spread of Buddhism was put on hold precisely because of the emergence of Mahayana Buddhism.

Ultimately, after the hidden danger was resolved, the Western Religion truly entered the Human Clan, but Mahayana Buddhism did not disappear.

Transforming barbarians into Buddhas was simply the perfect plan to hinder the great prosperity of the Western Religion.

"Now that Confucius mentions it, I suddenly thought that there isn't a suitable candidate for the leader of Mahayana Buddhism yet. Does Confucius have anyone to recommend?" Laozi asked.

After hearing Confucius's answer, he suddenly thought of this question.

As one of the Three Corpses of the Grand Pure Saint, he himself could not be the leader.

At this moment, he was a bit troubled because he could not determine the candidate for the leader of Mahayana Buddhism.

Firstly, the spread of Mahayana Buddhism was absolutely necessary, so the leader of Mahayana Buddhism had to be someone he could trust.

Furthermore, spreading the teachings required a certain level of strength. Without strength, even if the Saints of the Western Religion could not enter the Honghuang Heaven and Earth, there would be no opportunity to spread it.

Therefore, this candidate's cultivation had to be at least at the Quasi-Sage.

In his opinion, his Disciple Grand Master Xuandu, as the first person in the Quasi-Sage, was completely the most suitable candidate in terms of strength.

However, his Disciple's personality was the same as his, a serene and inactive nature, which was naturally not suitable for spreading Mahayana Buddhism.

Besides Grand Master Xuandu, only the Jie Cult disciples could do this.

Among the Jie Cult disciples, only two had reached the Quasi-Sage: Daoist Duobao and Zhao Gongming.

Zhao Gongming had just reached the Quasi-Sage and was clearly not very suitable.

As for Daoist Duobao, he also found it very difficult.

The relationship between Jie Cult and Western Religion could be described as irreconcilable. If Daoist Duobao, the senior Disciple, were to convert to the Western Religion and spread Mahayana Buddhism.

Leaving aside whether Daoist Duobao himself would agree, Sect Leader Tongtian would definitely be the first to object.

He was very clear about the personality of his Junior Brother Tongtian. Even if he explained the reasons, Sect Leader Tongtian would not agree.

"Actually, I think Kong Xuan is extremely suitable!" King Zhou said.

Although originally, for the matter of transforming barbarians into Buddhas, Laozi ultimately appointed Daoist Duobao of Jie Cult.

After Daoist Duobao joined the Western Religion, he also became Sakyamuni, the founder of Mahayana Buddhism, ultimately influencing the Western Religion.

But in his opinion, after various changes, Kong Xuan's current situation made him the most suitable candidate.

"Why does Confucius think Kong Xuan is the most suitable?" Laozi asked.

If Confucius hadn't spoken, he would have overlooked the existence of Kong Xuan, a Quasi-Sage.

He had originally considered and still thought Daoist Duobao was the most suitable.

He was actually prepared to bargain with Sect Leader Tongtian, willing to go to any lengths to arrange for Daoist Duobao to enter the Western Religion.

However, after Confucius mentioned Kong Xuan, he found that Kong Xuan was indeed more suitable than Duobao.

Moreover, choosing Kong Xuan meant not having to consider the troublesome Tongtian Cult Master.

Most importantly, Kong Xuan obeyed King Zhou. Given his relationship with King Zhou, as long as the benefits and drawbacks were explained, King Zhou would definitely agree to the matter.

However, he still wanted to hear why Confucius thought Kong Xuan was the most suitable.

"Firstly, Kong Xuan's strength is sufficient; he is considered a strong individual among the Quasi-Sages. After becoming the leader of Mahayana Buddhism, he will inevitably share in the rising Luck of Western Religion.

With this Luck, Kong Xuan's strength can advance further, becoming a Peak Quasi-Sage. The strength of a Peak Quasi-Sage is already enough to perfectly establish himself within Western Religion, where Saints do not appear.

Secondly, and more importantly, after the Human Clan Conferring Gods, Kong Xuan became the Supreme God of the Human Saint Court.

Adding to that, he was formerly the Great Shang Imperial Advisor, not only capable of mobilizing Human Clan Luck but also currently one of the Supreme Gods of Human Clan Luck, representing the Human Clan itself.

After Kong Xuan becomes the leader of Mahayana Buddhism, that Mahayana Buddhism will belong to both Western Religion and the Human Clan. If both are Human Clan forces, how can Luck be seized?

Kong Xuan becoming the leader of Mahayana Buddhism can directly sever Western Religion's possibility of seizing Human Clan Luck!" King Zhou said.

Just as he said, Kong Xuan was the most suitable candidate now.

If Duobao Daoist became the leader of Mahayana Buddhism, Western Religion would still share in Human Clan Luck.

But if Kong Xuan became the leader, the sharing of Human Clan Luck would not happen.

Under this method, not only was Western Religion's plan to spread Buddhism eastward disrupted, but also the hidden danger of Western Religion officially entering the Human Clan in the future was resolved.

In summary, Kong Xuan was, of course, the most suitable.

"Confucius's analysis is spot on. In that case, Kong Xuan truly is the most suitable candidate for the leader of Mahayana Buddhism!" Laozi exclaimed in admiration.

He felt that Confucius was indeed worthy of his high regard and would surely become a Literary Dao Saint of the Human Clan in the future!

Moreover, the current Confucius gave him a strong feeling, that Confucius was very much like King Zhou back then.

King Zhou had countless ingenious methods, each of which was unexpected yet extremely practical.

For example, solving the East Sea Eye and the Undying Volcano, and various counter-measures King Zhou employed during the Investiture of the Gods.

The plan of Confucius turning barbarians into Buddhas, and the suggestion of recommending Kong Xuan as the leader of Mahayana Buddhism, the more he thought about it, the more he felt that Confucius was like King Zhou.

"Since that is the case, I will go find Kong Xuan now and see if he is willing." Laozi said.

He was already satisfied; in this conversation, he had already obtained the answer he wanted.

The matter of impeding the rise of Western Religion was best done sooner rather than later, and it was better to execute it quickly.

Thinking of this, he also prepared to act swiftly, already standing up to bid farewell to Confucius.

"Please wait, Sir. Kong Xuan, as the Supreme God of the Human Saint Court, joining Western Religion to become the leader of Mahayana Buddhism is a matter of great importance, and he likely cannot decide it himself.

It's better to discuss this matter with King Zhou first. It won't be too late to inform Kong Xuan after King Zhou agrees." King Zhou said.

Just as he said, Kong Xuan absolutely could not make the decision himself on this matter.

Of course, there was also a selfish motive in letting Laozi go to Fire Cloud Cave to find King Zhou.

As one of the Nine Great Divine Souls, he had no actual contact with King Zhou; King Zhou didn't even know when he would reincarnate.

If Laozi could convey the news of turning barbarians into Buddhas to King Zhou, then King Zhou would definitely understand all the reasons, and even realize that he, Confucius, was one of the Nine Great Divine Souls.

It was very important for King Zhou's main body to know his identity!

"Confucius is right. I was too anxious. It's best to see King Zhou first!" Laozi said.

Upon closer inspection, one could naturally see that what Confucius said made a lot of sense.

Even if he went to find Kong Xuan first, Kong Xuan would choose to relay the message to King Zhou, and let King Zhou make the initial decision before proceeding.

Since that was the case, he could completely bypass the trouble and go directly to King Zhou to reveal his identity.

Presumably, with King Zhou's intelligence, he could fully understand the meaning of turning barbarians into Buddhas and support him in doing so.

As he spoke, he bid farewell to Confucius, summoned the green ox from Li Residence, and riding the green ox, disappeared from Confucius's sight.

...

In Fire Cloud Cave, Laozi, riding the green ox backward, was welcomed by Fuxi immediately after revealing his identity and entered Fire Cloud Cave.

Under Fuxi's guidance, he had already arrived outside King Zhou's palace.

According to Fuxi's reply, King Zhou was currently in seclusion, but Emperor Yu had already gone to wake him up.

At this moment, King Zhou had pushed open the palace door, ending his seclusion.

"Grand Pure Saint, what brings you here today?" King Zhou said.

The Sage's Three Corpses personally visiting Fire Cloud Cave, and one of them being the Grand Pure Saint's Three Corpses, naturally meant it couldn't be an ordinary matter.

Combined with the current situation of the Human Clan, he already had some faint guesses about the purpose of Laozi's visit.

Knowing that the conversation between the Grand Pure Saint and King Zhou would surely be about something very important, he chose not to linger and left directly.

"I specifically came to meet the Human Emperor because there is indeed an important matter to discuss with the Human Emperor!" Laozi said.

Although he was one of the Sage's Three Corpses, he did not adopt the high and mighty posture of a Saint when facing King Zhou.

After all, during the Investiture of the Gods, King Zhou had proven with his actions that his strength was actually not inferior to that of a Saint.

However, the focus today was not on this, but on whether King Zhou would agree to Kong Xuan becoming the leader of Mahayana Buddhism.

Chapter 298: The Human Emperor personally takes action, it will surely be foolproof!

"Grand Pure Saint, please speak freely!" King Zhou said.

Laozi, one of the Grand Pure Saint's Three Corpses, personally visiting, naturally couldn't just be to visit him, the former Human Emperor.

Although he couldn't enter the Honghuang Heaven and Earth, it didn't mean he was unaware of the Human Clan's situation.

The Human Clan was currently in its Spring and Autumn period, and with Laozi appearing, he also knew the reason for Laozi's appearance in the human world.

"Does King Zhou know about the impending rise of Western Religion?" Laozi said.

He chose not to directly ask if Kong Xuan could become the leader of Mahayana Buddhism, but rather to start from the beginning.

In his eyes, King Zhou was completely a being on the same level as him, so he naturally had to show enough respect.

His personal journey to the Human Clan and his painstaking planning were all to hinder the development of Western Religion.

Given King Zhou's relationship with Western Religion, he would clearly approve of this matter's progression.

"Of course I know. Is the Grand Pure Saint mentioning this because you want to stop Western Religion?" King Zhou said.

Logically, the rise of Western Religion was a heavenly secret, and only true Saints could deduce it.

However, he was familiar with the historical timeline and naturally knew that Western Religion would indeed flourish in the future.

Moreover, to stop the rise of Western Religion, Laozi had indeed taken action.

What he didn't understand, however, was that according to the original situation, Laozi's method of suppressing the rise of Western Religion had nothing to do with the Human Clan, so why would he come to find him?

Could it be that some unforeseen change had occurred?

"Indeed, that is the case. A method to stop Western Religion has been conceived, but the chosen individual requires your approval.

The person I have chosen to stop Western Religion is none other than Kong Xuan, the guardian god of the Human Saint Court!" Laozi explained.

Since King Zhou already understood all the reasons, he naturally chose to directly state his request.

His purpose in coming here was to get King Zhou's agreement on this matter, so there was no need to hide anything.

"Kong Xuan? Why would Kong Xuan be chosen to stop the rise of Western Religion?" King Zhou asked, puzzled.

According to what he knew, the person who would stop Western Religion should be Duobao Daoist, the eldest Disciple of the Jie Sect.

He could never have imagined that the key figure in stopping the rise of Western Religion would turn out to be Kong Xuan, the guardian god of the Human Clan.

This was also why he asked Laozi: why was the opportunity that originally belonged to Duobao Daoist being taken by Kong Xuan?

"To be frank, I have been traveling among the Human Clan to find a way to stop the rise of Western Religion, but I have not found one for a long time.

However, not long ago, I met a remarkable individual among your Human Clan named Confucius, who is truly an outstanding person.

This Confucius not only possesses extremely high comprehension but also has many ingenious ideas.

The method to stop the rise of Western Religion was a concept he proposed during our discussion about Western Religion.

This method is called 'turning barbarians into Buddhas.' Since Western Religion wants to use this opportunity to flourish, we will directly shake their Foundation by establishing another Mahayana Buddhism where everyone can become a Buddha.

This way, we can disintegrate and split Western Religion internally, thereby achieving the goal of hindering Western Religion's rise.

After our discussion, we both agreed that Kong Xuan was the most suitable, which is why I came to find you." Laozi explained again.

Since King Zhou asked about all this, he naturally chose to reveal everything.

Hearing Laozi's words, King Zhou did not immediately answer but fell into thought.

He wasn't thinking about Kong Xuan being suitable for the leader of Mahayana Buddhism; he was thinking that Laozi said the idea of turning barbarians into Buddhas was proposed by Confucius.

He naturally knew Confucius; in the original history, he was indeed a Literary Dao Saint of the Human Clan.

But no matter how extraordinary Confucius was, it was impossible for him to propose the idea of turning barbarians into Buddhas.

In an instant, he understood that this Confucius was a manifestation of one of his own split souls.

Thinking about it carefully, it was quite logical; his split soul was inherently protected by Human Clan Luck and possessed great Luck

It was quite reasonable to transform into Confucius, a figure who also possessed great Human Clan Luck.

At the same time, he also understood that Laozi being able to come to Fire Cloud Cave to find him was probably Confucius, his sub-soul, transmitting messages to him.

He understood that he was being asked to help Confucius, this sub-soul, achieve Dao.

Since that was the case, he also needed to plan carefully.

"The Grand Pure Saint's idea is to have Kong Xuan be the leader of Mahayana Buddhism, correct?" King Zhou asked for confirmation.

If Kong Xuan could become the leader of Mahayana Buddhism, he would naturally be very happy to see it.

As the Human Clan's Imperial Advisor and one of the main gods of Human Clan Luck, if Kong Xuan could become the leader of Mahayana Buddhism, it would be of immense benefit to the Human Clan.

"Indeed, as the former Imperial Advisor of Great Shang, Kong Xuan can not only mobilize Human Clan Luck, but is also one of the current supreme gods of Human Clan Luck, representing the Human Clan itself.

After Kong Xuan becomes the leader of Mahayana Buddhism, Mahayana Buddhism will belong to both Western Religion and the Human Clan, both being Human Clan forces, so how can they seize Human Clan Luck?

Kong Xuan becoming the leader can directly cut off Western Religion's possibility of seizing Human Clan Luck!" Laozi said.

To clarify the stakes involved, he directly repeated Confucius's words.

In his opinion, King Zhou understood the pros and cons far better than the Heavenly Lord of Primordial Beginning, and would most likely agree to this matter.

"Since that is the case, Grand Pure Saint, please wait a moment; I will contact Kong Xuan to come here," King Zhou said.

He actually highly approved of Kong Xuan becoming the leader of Mahayana Buddhism.

The reason he asked was to confirm whether the Grand Pure Saint truly wanted Kong Xuan to take on the position of leader.

He had already understood everything Laozi said.

As for contacting Kong Xuan, it was also extremely simple; Kong Xuan, as a main god of the Human Saint Court, could be communicated with by simply using Human Clan Luck.

He even knew the current situation of the Human Clan through communication established with others via Human Clan Luck.

The disintegration of Great Shang and the rise of various Lords of a State was something Kong Xuan had informed him of.

Even Kong Xuan had once asked him if he should intervene to impede the disintegration of Great Shang.

He deeply understood the inevitability of Great Shang's demise and did not allow the Human Saint Court to intervene.

If he wanted to interfere, he could completely order the Human Saint Court to act and prevent the division from happening!

While contemplating, he had already begun to establish contact with Kong Xuan, asking Kong Xuan to come to Fire Cloud Cave.

The matter of transforming Hu into Buddha could not be explained in a few words; it was better to explain it face to face.

Before long, inside the palace, Kong Xuan, having received the message, had rushed there on horseback.

"Greetings, You, greetings, Grand Pure Saint, what is the reason for summoning me today?" Kong Xuan asked.

He couldn't help but feel a bit puzzled, wondering what important matter could possibly make King Zhou personally summon him to Fire Cloud Cave.

During these past few centuries, Kong Xuan had always wanted to enter Fire Cloud Cave to see King Zhou, but had never had the opportunity.

Even when Great Shang was disintegrating, and he hesitated whether to intervene, wanting to ask King Zhou's opinion, he had never entered Fire Cloud Cave.

However, today, King Zhou actually took the initiative to invite him into Fire Cloud Cave.

Moreover, he also saw the Grand Pure Saint here, and he guessed that there must be an extremely important matter for him to enter Fire Cloud Cave today!

"It is naturally a good thing; let the Grand Pure Saint explain it to You," he said.

If Kong Xuan could become the leader of Mahayana Buddhism, it would definitely increase Kong Xuan's cultivation, which would naturally be a good thing for Kong Xuan.

Furthermore, becoming the leader of Mahayana Buddhism would not only benefit Kong Xuan alone, but the entire Human Clan.

Upon hearing King Zhou's words, Laozi spoke again, reiterating to Kong Xuan what he had just explained to King Zhou.

Kong Xuan did not immediately agree, but instead turned his gaze towards King Zhou.

"You, what is your opinion on this matter?" Kong Xuan asked.

The Grand Pure Saint had only spoken halfway when he realized that this was an enormous good fortune.

It was about sharing the Human Clan Luck of the entire Western Religion; if it weren't for the Grand Pure Saint speaking, he would even think this matter was a fantasy.

As one of the main gods of Human Clan Luck, he was well aware of the help Human Clan Luck provided for cultivation; strong Human Clan Luck could even directly enhance one's cultivation.

If he could share the Human Clan Luck of Western Religion after its great prosperity, his cultivation would definitely improve significantly.

However, he was unsure of King Zhou's opinion; he would only agree if King Zhou agreed.

The Grand Pure Saint watched as Kong Xuan did not answer immediately, but instead took the initiative to ask King Zhou for his thoughts.

At this moment, he believed that Confucius's suggestion was indeed useful.

If he had sought out Kong Xuan first, then based on Kong Xuan's current actions, he would still have asked King Zhou for his advice.

On one hand, he marveled at Kong Xuan's loyalty to King Zhou, and on the other hand, he also marveled at Confucius's infallible calculations.

If he had rushed to find Kong Xuan first, this matter would have required much more effort.

"You believe that your becoming the leader of Mahayana Buddhism is a good thing for yourself, for the Grand Pure Saint, and for the entire Human Clan, so You naturally have no reason not to agree!" King Zhou said.

Kong Xuan becoming the leader of Mahayana Buddhism was a great good fortune with a hundred benefits and no harm; how could he have any reason not to agree?

Being able to summon Kong Xuan here was already enough to show his attitude.

"Since You agrees, I will proceed according to Your arrangements!" Kong Xuan replied.

He would do whatever King Zhou commanded.

Since this matter had already received King Zhou's approval, he could naturally agree to the Grand Pure Saint's request.

"With this, everything is ready; we just need to wait for the opportune moment, and we will surely be able to restrict the development of Western Religion and preserve the flourishing Human Clan Luck of the Human Clan!" Laozi said.

At this very moment, the situation he wished to see had been achieved.

Kong Xuan agreeing to become the leader of Mahayana Buddhism was like the last complete piece of a puzzle.

Now, he only needed to wait for the right time to introduce Kong Xuan and Mahayana Buddhism, and the great prosperity of Western Religion would also be restricted.

With Kong Xuan's strength, and as a main god of Human Clan Luck, Kong Xuan could completely run rampant within Western Religion.

Even against the Three Corpses of Daoist Zhunti and Daoist Jieyin, Kong Xuan, with the help of Human Clan Luck, would be able to contend.

As long as a Saint did not personally intervene, Kong Xuan's strength would be sufficient to allow Mahayana Buddhism to spread.

In the current situation, Saints are not allowed to enter Honghuang Heaven and Earth, and the great prosperity of Mahayana Buddhism is almost a foregone conclusion.

"With the Human Emperor personally taking action, this matter will surely be foolproof!" Kong Xuan said.

The three of them looked at each other at this moment, all revealing satisfied smiles.

Chapter 299: Traveling the States, Western Religion Spreads!

After discussing the Dao with Laozi, Confucius took his Disciples to travel the various states, exchanging ideas with the Hundred Schools of Thought.

Their group set out from Lu in the east, successively reaching large and small states such as Qi, Yan, Dai, and Zhongshan, and so on.

During this period of traveling the states, King Zhou continuously debated with representatives of the Hundred Schools of Thought, and his reputation grew increasingly larger as a result.

Coupled with the widespread stories of his three enlightenments, whenever he arrived in a state, Confucius would be sought after by countless scholars.

After interacting with Confucius, countless learned scholars couldn't help but exclaim that hearing about him was not as good as meeting him, and meeting him was even better than hearing about him.

Because, after interacting with Confucius, none would fail to be convinced by Confucius's teachings.

Due to this, Confucius's name as a Literary Dao Saint had gradually resounded throughout the entire Human Clan, revered by countless people.

As for King Zhou himself, his travels through the states were not for fame, but for his own Dao.

Today, Confucius entered the Capital of Qin, which was the last state within the Human Clan territory.

Upon learning of Confucius's arrival, the heads of schools and great scholars in the Capital of Qin cheered, specially setting up a debate platform.

This was to welcome Confucius and his Disciples with the greatest enthusiasm and courtesy!

Moreover, Qin State specifically invited famous school heads and great scholars within Qin State to come to the capital to debate with Confucius.

As a result of this much-anticipated debate, Confucius, with just a few words, astonished the school heads and great scholars who had studied for many years.

They all felt as if their many years of study had been in vain.

After that, what was originally a debate had turned into a session where Confucius answered questions.

All the great scholars and school heads were asking Confucius for guidance.

After all their questions were answered one by one, they could only sigh, truly, a great reputation is not without substance.

This Confucius truly had the bearing of a Literary Dao Saint.

Initially, they were very confident in the schools of thought they had studied; even if the school heads had been convinced by Confucius, they did not believe there was anything wrong with their own schools.

But now, as they witnessed Confucius's knowledge, after asking questions, they and Confucius already had a semi-master-Disciple relationship.

Their hearts had been won over by Confucius's philosophy.

Confucius, possessing such knowledge, believed that the Hundred Schools of Thought needed to fulfill their respective duties, and they also fully believed in Confucius's core idea of Human Clan ideological unity.

"It is truly rare to be able to consult Master Confucius today; what You said has truly enlightened me!" said a school head.

He benefited greatly from the final consultation, almost perfecting the school's philosophy.

At the same time, he gained a deeper understanding of his own school and clearly knew the suitable direction for his school in the operation of the state

"In my opinion, the title of Literary Dao Leader belongs to none other than Confucius. After today, with the unification of Human Clan thought, it is only a matter of time before Mr. Kong becomes a Literary Dao Saint."

The one who spoke this time was also a great academic master with a considerable reputation in Qin State.

It only took a few sentences for him to go from being unconvinced to becoming a supporter of Confucius.

Now, he felt nothing but admiration for Confucius.

If Confucius didn't become a Literary Dao Saint, he truly didn't know who else could become a Human Dao Saint.

"Thank you for your auspicious words. I will be here for half a day. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have," King Zhou said.

The progress in Qin State currently seemed very smooth. Human Clan thought, under his leadership, had already begun to unify, albeit only within the confines of Qin State.

It now seemed that Qin State was a sure bet.

After the unification of Human Clan thought, he could attempt to gather Human Clan Luck on a larger scale, and becoming a Literary Dao Saint would be within reach.

To solidify the ideas of these Hundred Schools of Thought scholars, after every debate in a new location, he would choose to set aside half a day to answer the scholars' questions there.

Today was no exception!

At this moment, as he spoke, other scholars also began to question him.

At the same time, outside the Capital of Qin city gate, several bald figures stood there, curiously observing everything around them.

Only the leader at the front had a firm gaze, staring intently at the Capital city gate.

These figures were Disciples of Western Religion. Their purpose in entering Qin State this time was to spread their teachings.

After the two Saints, Zhunti and Jieyin, made their decision, Western Religion began to act, entering the Human Clan to propagate the Western Religion doctrines.

The person leading them was none other than Ksitigarbha, the chief Disciple of the two Saints of Western Religion.

As for the other Western Religion Disciples following Ksitigarbha, most were third and fourth-generation Disciples of Western Religion, whom he led to spread the teachings among the Human Clan.

Unlike the barrenness of the Western lands, the Human Clan territories were very rich and vibrant.

The reason their group chose the Qin State region as the first stop to spread Western Religion doctrines was because Qin State was harsh and its people lived in hardship.

Their goal was clear, and they immediately came to the Capital of Qin.

The Capital had a large population and was a permanent residence for various academic schools, which was conducive to the spread of ideas.

In Ksitigarbha's impression, the capital of every Marquis was densely populated and heavily guarded.

However, upon arriving outside the Capital city wall today, he felt that the situation in the Capital deviated somewhat from what he understood.

Not only were there very few pedestrians coming and going within the Capital, but even the number of soldiers guarding the city gate was pitifully small.

Extending his perception over the Capital, as a Golden Immortal Realm expert, he immediately understood the whole story.

"Who is Confucius, to have such charisma?" Ksitigarbha exclaimed.

Zhunti Daoist and Jieyin Daoist had not informed him that there was such an influential academic scholar among the Human Clan.

It had been three years since the two Saints walked among the Human Clan, indicating that there had been considerable changes in these three years.

However, Confucius having such ability was also an opportunity for them.

"Uncle-Master Ksitigarbha, did something happen?" a Western Religion Disciple in the group asked.

Who was Confucius, to make Uncle-Master Ksitigarbha so serious?

"A very interesting person. It is said that he can achieve three sudden enlightenments in a short period!" Ksitigarbha said.

This was the situation after his in-depth understanding. This Confucius had actually experienced three consecutive sudden enlightenments, but he completely disbelieved such a thing as three sudden enlightenments.

In his opinion, it was completely impossible!

Sudden enlightenment also occurred in cultivation. Each sudden enlightenment could bring a considerable increase in cultivation, and three sudden enlightenments, even if not related to cultivation, were truly too alarming.

But this was good. Regardless of truth or falsehood, Confucius possessed such a reputation and charisma.

Confucius was currently holding a debate conference. What if their Western Religion Disciples participated in this debate and even defeated Confucius, achieving victory?

Would the Western Religion doctrines then be able to spread rapidly in the Capital of Qin?

He had originally been worried about how Western Religion would spread. If, during the debate, their Western Religion won,

then Western Religion would become famous among the Human Clan, and it would be easier to spread Western Religion doctrines then.

While thinking, the few remaining people on the road also hurried towards the debate platform.

The Capital of Qin was almost deserted, which showed Confucius's influence.

The more this was the case, the more he solidified his inner thoughts.

If he seized this opportunity today to debate with Confucius and succeeded, the name of Western Religion would expand throughout the entire Qin State.

He did not believe Confucius could surpass them.

He even felt that he could first send the Western Religion Disciples who had followed him to the stage.

If these Disciples were not Confucius's match in the debate, then he, a Saint's Disciple, would personally enter the fray.

He did not believe that a mere Confucius would be his opponent in a debate; he was a direct Disciple of a Saint!

As he pondered, he clasped his hands together. Their group had already arrived at the location of the debate.

With his Golden Immortal Realm strength, he could completely lead his group to blend into the crowd without being discovered.

With just one glance, Ksitigarbha saw Confucius on the debate platform.

The moment he saw Confucius, he knew that those Western Religion Disciples were definitely not Confucius's match, and only he could succeed by personally entering!

The reason for this was that he discovered the Human Clan Luck circling around Confucius.

And as Confucius explained, there was a radiant glow appearing on the gathered Human Clan Luck.

As a Saint's Disciple, he understood what this phenomenon meant.

This Confucius truly had the appearance of a Literary Dao Saint, just as the Qin State people rumored.

This situation also meant that Confucius's exaggerated rumors of three insights were very likely true.

Thus, the other Western Religion Disciples he led would certainly not be Confucius's opponent, and only he could succeed by personally entering the fray.

As a Saint's Disciple, even if Confucius had gathered Human Clan Luck and experienced three sudden enlightenments, he did not believe Confucius would be his opponent.

"Today, with this opportunity, may I debate with Confucius?" Ksitigarbha asked.

As he spoke, he had already walked onto the debate platform.

After he stood on the debate platform, he attracted the attention of almost everyone.

Mainly, Ksitigarbha wanted to debate with Confucius, unlike others who wanted to ask Confucius for guidance.

"Of course!" King Zhou's expression remained unchanged, looking calm.

The moment Ksitigarbha stepped onto the stage, he recognized Ksitigarbha's identity.

He hadn't expected the Western Religion Disciples to have already reached the Capital of Qin. It seemed that the spread of Western Religion doctrines had officially begun.

However, he was not overly surprised by Ksitigarbha and Western Religion's appearance.

He knew that the appearance of Western Religion Disciples in Human Clan territory was bound to happen sooner or later, but fortunately, he had long anticipated and prepared for this situation.

"In that case, I shall begin!" Ksitigarbha spoke again.

He hadn't expected Confucius to accept so readily; he had originally planned to provoke him a bit.

Now it was good, he could save some trouble.

At this moment, he could already imagine Confucius's defeat.

Chapter 300: Debating the Western Religion!

"I have heard of the name of Western Religion, but I do not know that Western Religion is the Dao of Buddhism. Could you please explain it to me?" Confucius proactively said.

He was naturally not unfamiliar with Ksitigarbha. Seeing Ksitigarbha among the Human Clan, coupled with what Laozi had said before, he naturally knew Ksitigarbha's purpose.

Now, Ksitigarbha even wanted to debate with him; his intention was already very clear.

Did he want to use him as a stepping stone for Western Religion's fame? He, on the contrary, wanted to make Western Religion a complete joke!

"Western Religion, the Dao of Buddhism, lies in self-perfection and liberation! After achieving self-perfection and liberation, one attains the Arhat fruit status!" Ksitigarbha said.

He had not expected Confucius to choose to proactively mention Western Religion doctrines.

Could it be that this Confucius intended to refute him based on Western Religion doctrines?

He found Confucius truly laughable; this action was simply like a mayfly trying to shake a tree.

He was a direct Disciple of Zhunti Daoist and Jieyin Daoist, mastering the most authentic and complete Western Religion doctrines.

He believed that Western Religion's doctrines were very complete and reliable, without any flaws whatsoever.

These were the Western Religion doctrines established by two Saints. How could Confucius possibly defeat him?

Among the crowd, the Western Religion Disciples who had followed Ksitigarbha were also full of confidence after hearing Ksitigarbha's answer.

This Confucius truly overestimated himself, daring to discuss Buddhist doctrines.

Those were established by two of the six Saints of this world, and they were the foundation of Western Religion's establishment.

Ksitigarbha was even one of the most outstanding among the direct Disciples
