Chapter 3 - Selling My Body

As she stepped out of the alley, the sun struck her face, and her bare feet felt the warmth of the ground heated by the morning light.

She sighed.

So this is reincarnation, huh…

Although some people glanced at her with mild curiosity because of her ragged tunic, they didn't pay much attention to an unknown girl walking along the road.

That bastard didn't even bother to leave me with some decent clothes… I guess the option of eternal darkness wasn't so bad after all.

As she walked through what seemed to be a commercial district, she could see all kinds of characters that looked like they'd been pulled straight out of a role-playing game.

The flood of races and outfits was almost overwhelming.

Now that the initial panic was fading and her brain was working with relative normality again, a couple of questions began circling her mind insistently.

The first: if this was a fantasy world with magic and skills, what would hers be? Because she didn't believe that the bastard who brought her here would dare leave her without one… right?

And the second—far more pressing:

WHY AS A WOMAN?!

Seriously, she didn't think it would've been that hard not to change her gender when reincarnating her…

"No. Stop thinking about useless crap," she muttered under her breath, lightly shaking her head as if to chase the thoughts away.

CLOTHES.

That was her most urgent need. Everything else could wait until that problem was solved.

But as she walked, she suddenly felt an arm drape itself over her shoulders, pulling her close to a strange body with forced familiarity.

"HELLLOOO, CUTIE! I couldn't help but notice you're wearing a rather… light 'outfit,'" said a low female voice, heavy with unmistakable intent. "And I was wondering… how much do you charge?"

Logan was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't react right away. When she finally turned to look at the source of the proposition, what she saw left her even more stunned.

It wasn't a man.

It was a tall woman with short white hair and feline ears poking out from between the strands. She wore only bandages wrapped around her chest and short brown cloth pants. But what stood out the most, without a doubt, was her well-toned body and muscular arms, which radiated considerable strength.

"E-e-eh…" was all that came out of Logan's throat. The shock didn't come only from the proposal, but from who was making it.

"So? What do you think, cutie? Since you're totally my type, I promise I'll pay you well," the woman insisted, leaning closer and planting a wet kiss on her cheek. "…But just so you know, I don't plan on holding back in bed~" she added in a teasing tone, flashing a smile that revealed a sharp fang.

Logan would be lying if she said the stranger wasn't attractive.

In her past life, if someone like this had made that kind of offer, she would've accepted instantly—and probably for free.

The problem was that now she was a woman… and she no longer had her "little friend" down there.

"Come on, sweetheart~ I know you want to~" the feline woman cooed, her tail swaying impatiently. "You haven't stopped staring at me—and especially at my chest—since I started talking to you."

Even though her mind was a mess, her libido—apparently intact and now housed in a brand-new body—proved to be stronger than her common sense.

And to be fair, in the face of such confident feline beauty, saying no almost felt like an insult.

I think I misjudged you, unknown deity, she thought, a hint of resigned humor creeping in. If this was your plan all along, I'll gladly follow it, oh almighty god of reincarnation.

"Y-yes… that's fine," she managed to stammer.

"Hehehe, perfect, my love!" the woman exclaimed, her tail bristling with excitement. "Follow me. I know the perfect place."

And without giving her any more time to think, she grabbed her by the hand and dragged her along with surprising strength in an unknown direction, disappearing into the bustling alleyways of the city.
