Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The start of it all

A mysterious girls named Faricah appeared and aided Cafra and his friends. With her help they were able to defeat the monsters. After fighting they have many questions they want to ask Faricah. She agreed to answer all their questions so she opened up a portal to go somewhere safe where they can talk.

Cafra: "How can we be sure that we can trust you?"

Faricah: "Didn't I just helped you defeat those monsters earlier? Isn't that enough to answer your question?"

Gil: "She's right Cafra. We can trust her. I mean, we have to. We have many questions for her."

They all entered the portal. They arrived in an empty white space with nothing else in it.

Kael: "What is this place?"

Faricah: "This is a place that is in between your world and ours. Nothing exist here. This place is just used when going to other dimension. So. What do you guys want to know?"

Cafra: "Tell us everything that is happening. Since the day we got our powers and the appearance of the Aswangs."

Faricah: "Okay. Let me tell you where it all started. The day Sandipa and Val'Zhemyr met."

The Story goes.

Out in the galaxy there is a planet called Duskfall, light is rare and the inhabitants, the Umbrali people, worshiped it as sacred fire and believes it's a gift from the Gods. But from the void beneath Duskfall's crust, shadows birthed a being named Val'Zhemyr. He was born under a Null Eclipse, a rare cosmic phenomenon where Duskfall's red mood blocks the sun for one full hour and make the temperature drop and freeze everything. Many believed this omen heralded the end of their world but instead, it created him. A being cursed with ancient darkness. The Umbrali feared him, thinking he will be the cause of their world's end.

The Umbrali priests decided to purge him to prevent the bad omen to occur. But when they were about to purge Val'Zhemyr, shadows clung to him like breath. He managed to escape the execution by sinking into the dark world-veins beneath the planet, where ancient void entities fed him power. He emerged not as a child, but a weapon forged by darkness itself. He grew and learned to wield dark magic, he can make any weapon of any form using darkness. He was a force to be reckoned with.

But having all that power he have one weakness, the Sun, he hated the sun as it burns his skin so quick that if he gets exposed too long he will end up turning all to dust. He wanted to get rid of it so he made a plan to use his dark magic to devour it and ascend beyond weakness. He believes consuming the sun will let him transcend his fragile form.

On his quest to devour the sun he starts his preparation. He conjured an armor using his dark magic to protect him from the sun. He then jumped and flew towards the sun. As he gets closer, he starts to gather dark energy, forming it into a dense, concentrated ball of darkness. He prepares to release and attack to devour the sun, but something, someone out of nowhere appeared in front of him, blocking his path. An unknown entity, a celestial guardian of the Sun, blazing like a newborn star, a being made out of pure energy. He radiates and shines like sunlight.

Val'Zhemyr: "Who are you?"

Mysterious Entity: "I am Sandipa. It is I, who guards and protects the sun and all the planets."

Val'Zhemyr: "Dont get in my way!"

The two charged at each other and started fighting. They were equal in terms of strength and power. They battled, destroying everything around them. As both of them starts to get tired, Val'Zhemyr prepares to do a final attack towards the sun. But by the time Val'Zhemyr launched his attack, Sandipa flew quickly to block it.

Absorbing the whole attack, he explodes and disintegrates, turned into small speck of dusts and a mysterious stone. It's Divine essence scattered as ash that fell as rain over the Earth. Those touched by the "Rain of the Fallen Light" absorbed fragments of the Sandipa's soul particles, awakening powers tied to its divine essence. The battle between Sandipa and Val'Zhemyr had shattered the skies. When the final clash ended, light fell, and darkness plummeted.

Cafra: "So that day. That rain. I knew there was something weird about it. It wasn't just any ordinary rain."

Amon: "That rain gave us our powers. That means. There are others who are like us?"

Ric: "I'm thinking the same thing. We were not the only ones who got touched by that rain. There are others too.

Faricah: "You are right."

Erlo: "That also means the appearance of the aswangs are spread all over our world."

Arja: "So it's not just here in our village that's in danger. The whole world is."

Faricah: "Indeed. Evil has spread across the world. its growing stronger day by day. And because of Val'Zhemyr, these Aswangs got powerful to the point where they can wreak havoc and attack even in broad daylight. There are people who are doing their best to defeat them. Ones with powers, and ones without. But not all of them succeed. Some of them perish."

Cafra: "So how can we stop all these evil monsters?"

Faricah: "We do not know yet for sure. But you, as the bearer of Sandipa's core, is the only one who can put a stop to Val'Zhemyr. You need to get stronger. To prevent him from taking the core from you. Because if he gets his hand on that core. This world will end."

Cafra: "But... What if.. I am not capable of defeating this monster? I mean, I am just a normal person who accidentally found this stone.. What if it's meant for someone else?"

Faricah: "You shouldn't doubt yourself. You finding that stone is no accident. The stone chose you."

He turned to his friends with a sad look at first, but then changed to being determined.

Faricah: "You need to go on a quest to find some answers and help from the other diwatas so you can learn how to use that core to its full potential and defeat Val'Zhemyr."

Cafra: "Okay... But.. if I am going to leave, somebody has to stay. Our home town needs protection. For sure more attacks will come, and somebody needs to defend our people."

Erlo placed a hand on his shoulder.

Erlo: "Go, Cafra, We'll hold things down here."

Arja: "Don't worry about us. We're stronger than you anyways. ahaha."

Kael: "We'll keep training to get stronger."

Gil: "If things get really bad, we'll come help you."

Amon: "We know you can do it."

Ric: "We can handle things here. And like Gil said, if you need help, we will come for your aid."

With a final nod, Cafra stepped beside Faricah, walking out, slowly disappearing. And they began their journey that would pull them towards Val'Zhemyr himself.
