As the dragon unleashed its forbidden spell, the entirety of Iris' domain—or at least what remained of it because of the shrinking barrier that had been closing in for hours and pushing everyone toward the center—was covered in thick, menacing clouds that blotted out whatever light remained.
The ground began to freeze all over the place, the frost spreading like a disease across the surface.
Massive spikes started to erupt randomly from the earth without any warning, their jagged forms piercing through the frozen soil like deadly spears.
SWASH!
One of the spikes pierced one of the three insect-raced players that had been trying to fight the dragon, their chitinous armor offering no protection against the sheer force of the attack.
The ice penetrated through their body and killed them instantly before their corpse even hit the ground, the light fading from their eyes.
