Under Snack's stunned gaze, Marco drove a brutal punch straight into his abdomen.
Bang!
Blood burst from Snack's mouth as his body convulsed. Gritting his teeth, Snack wrenched his sword free and slashed downward—sizzle!—the blade carving a deep, bloody gash across Marco's palm. Almost simultaneously, a sharp cut opened across Marco's torso, the wound gruesome and raw.
Yet before the blood could even spill, blue flames surged over the injury, sealing flesh and bone in the blink of an eye.
"My turn now, right?" Marco said lightly.
He tightened his grip on Snack's arm, refusing to let him escape, and unleashed a relentless barrage of punches.
"Damn it!" Snack cursed inwardly.
He had never fought someone like this before.
Most battles were exchanges—attack, defend, retreat, counter. But Marco fought like a madman. Once he caught hold of you, he only attacked, completely ignoring defense.
It wasn't that Marco couldn't defend—he simply didn't need to.
Snack's strongest blows couldn't seriously injure him in a single strike.
If this were Akainu, Marco would never dare fight this way. Against someone like the magma man, even Marco would need absolute defense, or he'd be punched clean through—recovery or not.
But Snack wasn't Akainu.
After enduring several crushing hits in succession, Snack knew he couldn't last. He growled, his body beginning to secrete oil from every pore.
"Bastard—Hot Oil Gush!"
Sizzle—sizzle—sizzle!
Scalding oil erupted violently from Snack's body. Marco's grip slipped, and Snack finally broke free.
Bleeding from the nose and mouth, Snack leapt backward at once, forcing distance between them.
"Don't think you're getting away," Marco said coldly.
Blue flames exploded from his back as a pair of phoenix wings unfurled, and he shot forward in pursuit.
Snack barely had time to steady himself when a towering blue figure swooped in from the side.
"Genie Slash!"
Marco reacted instantly, Armament Haki hardening his arms as he blocked the blow.
Ping!
The attack was stopped—but as Marco followed the smoky lower half of the genie, his gaze locked onto the true threat standing dozens of meters away.
Charlotte Daifuku.
"Daifuku!" Snack shouted in relief.
Daifuku stepped up beside him, his expression grave. "We'll fight together. One-on-one, neither of us can beat him."
Snack nodded grimly. He knew it better than anyone—the gap was enormous.
"Alright."
Daifuku's eyes burned with fury as he stared at Marco. "Marco… I'll kill you and avenge Oven."
He raised his arm sharply.
"Genie—go. Kill him."
Marco looked at the charging genie and the approaching Snack, his eyes turning cold and sharp.
Fighting the genie was pointless.
Its body was nothing but smoke—no matter how many times it was destroyed, Daifuku could simply summon another one. If Marco wanted to end this quickly, he had to strike the real body.
Ping!
A sudden clash of steel rang out as Zack appeared out of nowhere, slashing at the genie and forcing it back. He planted himself firmly in its path and shouted toward Daifuku,
"Don't even think about interfering with Captain Marco!"
"Zack…?" Marco glanced over, mildly surprised.
Zack was now effectively the acting commander of the First Division. Though his official title was still vice-captain, everyone knew he was already leading the division in practice.
"Damn you!" Daifuku snarled, furious that his genie had been stopped.
"Well done, Zack," Marco said with a grin. He then turned his gaze toward Snack, a dangerous smile curling at the corners of his lips.
"Alright. Now it's just the two of us again."
Marco's eyes sharpened.
"Don't even think about running. Even if you try, you won't get away."
With that, he kicked off the ground and charged straight at Snack.
Snack clenched his teeth and roared, "I'm one of the Sweet Commanders! Don't look down on me!"
Hot oil seeped from his body as he rushed forward, his blade coated in a scalding sheen. As the distance between them vanished, Snack raised his sword high and bellowed,
"Fried-Scorching Blade!"
"Crane Claw!"
Marco's feet twisted and reshaped, transforming into sharp talons. His claws snapped shut around Snack's blade, Armament Haki flooding into them.
Marco spun violently—
Crack!
The sword shattered in his grip.
"What?!" Snack's pupils shrank in disbelief.
Marco flung the broken fragments forward without hesitation. Two jagged shards punched straight through Snack's shoulders, forcing him to stagger backward with a cry.
Marco was already in the air.
His fists hardened with Armament Haki as he descended, roaring.
"Tekkai-Rapid Strikes!"
A storm of punches crashed down on Snack's body. Even as Snack raised his arms instinctively to defend, Marco's blows smashed through his guard one after another, each punch carrying terrifying power.
Snack was driven into the ground.
Still, he grit his teeth, curling inward, desperately shielding his face and throat with his arms.
Marco showed no mercy.
The assault didn't stop.
"Finger Pistol-Machine Gun!"
Marco shifted his stance, extending his index finger as Armament Haki condensed at its tip. His finger became a lethal spike, stabbing again and again—thud, thud, thud—piercing bloody holes across Snack's body.
"Snack!"
"Lord Snack!"
Cries of shock rang out from the Big Mom Pirates as they watched in horror.
After barely ten seconds, Marco finally stepped back.
Snack lay sprawled on the ground, riddled with bloodied wounds, completely unconscious. Even then, his arms remained instinctively raised, protecting his head and neck.
That instinct alone had spared him from a fatal blow.
But the sight of his broken, hole ridden body was still enough to send chills through everyone watching.
