The music cranked up louder after the countdown, shifting from slow romantic beats to something with a heavier bass that pulsed through the floorboards and into my chest.
People started drifting toward the open space in the middle of the living room, laughing and pulling each other into loose circles to dance. Couples paired off, friends grabbed hands, even some of Mom's older friends joined in with exaggerated moves that made everyone crack up. The fairy lights overhead spun soft gold and silver across faces and bodies, turning the whole room into something warm and alive.
Chloe's fingers tightened around mine suddenly, her excitement bubbling over. "Come on, Robbie. let's dance!"
She tugged me forward before I could protest, her pink dress swaying as she moved. The skirt flared out with each quick step, flashing those smooth strips of plushy thigh between the hem and her nude stockings..
We slipped into the moving bodies, finding a small pocket of space. Chloe turned to face me, hands lifting a little as she started swaying to the rhythm. Her hips rolled gently, the dress clinging to her waist and flaring at her thighs, stockings whispering against her skin with every shift. I tried to match her, moving awkwardly at first, hands hovering, not sure where to put them until she reached out and placed them on her waist herself.
"There." she said, smiling up at me. "Just follow the music."
I swallowed hard. Her waist felt tiny under my palms, warm through the thin fabric. Every time she moved, her breasts jiggled softly in front of me, the bodice holding them high and round, the faint shadow of cleavage deepening with her breaths. The floral patterns danced across her chest, innocent little details that somehow made the sight even more tempting. I forced my eyes up to her face, but it didn't help—her loose waves framed her cheeks, glowing pink from the lights and the dancing, and her smile was so bright it made my stomach flip.
As we moved together, my gaze drifted despite myself. Across the floor, Sofia and Ethan were still at the corner, but they weren't anymore. Ethan had stepped back from the wall, offering his hand palm-up like an invitation. Sofia hesitated for half a second, then smiled and placed her hand in his. They walked toward the dance area, her golden dress shimmering, the high slit parting with every step to flash smooth hip and the outer curve of her ass cheek. Ethan's hand settled low on her back, fingers spread wide, pulling her close as they joined the swaying crowd.
I shook my head, trying to push the twist in my gut away. They were just dancing.
Chloe's hands slid up to my shoulders, pulling my attention back. "Robbie, will you stop looking everywhere else?"
Her voice was teasing, but soft. I met her bright, playful eyes and felt my face heat.
"Sorry." I muttered. "Just… distracted."
She laughed quietly and stepped closer, our bodies brushing now as we moved. My hands settled more naturally on her waist, thumbs resting against the soft dip above her hips. The music slowed again, shifting into something deeper, more intimate. We swayed together, her breasts rising and falling inches from my chest, the necklace pendant shining between them. Her thigh brushed mine through the stocking, warm and plush, and every small shift made the gap between dress hem and lace top flash more creamy skin.
I glanced around once more. Bella and Lara were dancing, bodies pressed close, hands on waists and lower backs, hips grinding in time. Bella's blue mini dress rode higher with every turn, threatening to expose the lower curve of her ass. Lara's crop top clung tighter as she moved, nipples outlined clearly through the white fabric. They looked lost in each other, faces close, laughing at something private.
On the couch, Max sat sprawled with his drink, watching the room like a king surveying his court. His eyes flicked from dancer to dancer, lingering on Mom as she spun with one of her friends. Her qipao slits parted wide when she moved, showing long strips of thigh to the hip, the crisscross strings pulling tight against her skin. Her F-cups bounced noticeably with the motion, threatening to spill from the diamond cutout at her chest.
Chloe's fingers tightened on my shoulders. "You're doing it again."
I snapped back to her, cheeks burning. "Sorry. I'm here. Promise."
She smiled, soft and forgiving, and leaned her head against my shoulder for a second. Her breasts pressed lightly against my chest, warm and full through the fitted bodice. I swallowed hard, trying to focus on the feel of her in my arms instead of everything else pulling at my attention.
Time blurred after that. The music rose and fell, people drifted in and out of the dance floor—some pairing off, some grabbing drinks, some laughing too loud near the snack table. Chloe and I kept moving together, sometimes close, sometimes spinning apart when the song picked up. Her tits bounced softly with every step, the necklace swaying between them.
Eventually the crowd thinned. People started drifting toward the kitchen for more drinks, others sat down on couches, tired from dancing too long. I was one of them my legs ached, my shirt stuck to my back from the heat of the room. Chloe squeezed my hand and stepped back.
"I should find my mom." she said. "She's probably drinking with your mom too much. I'll be right back."
She slipped away through the remaining people, skirt swaying, thighs flashing in the stocking gap. I watched her go, heart still pounding from the closeness, then sank back onto the couch where Max had been earlier. The cushion was still warm. Max himself was a few feet away now, leaning against the wall with his drink, talking to some guy I didn't recognize.
He noticed me and grinned, raising his glass. "Rob! Finally escaped the dance floor, huh?"
I managed a tired laugh. "Yeah. Legs are done."
He walked over and dropped down beside me, close enough that our shoulders bumped. "You looked like you were having fun out there with Chloe. She's cute."
I felt my face heat again. "Yeah. She looks… good."
Max chuckled, taking a sip. "Good? Man, she's fire. And your sister Sofia wasn't bad either dancing with Ethan like that. She's got moves. And that dress? Jesus. If she wasn't your sister, I'd be over there trying my luck."
I tensed, the earlier sting flaring back. "She's married, Max. And has a kid."
He raised his hands. "Relax, I'm kidding. But seriously—your mom too? She doesn't look like she's got three kids. How the hell does she pull that off?"
I shrugged, uncomfortable. "Mom just… stays fit. Runs and stuff."
Max whistled low. "Honestly I'm quite jealous of you now."
I didn't know what to say to that. I just smiled back on his comments.
Max leaned in closer, voice dropping. "You okay, man? You've been weird since we got here."
I forced a smile. "Just tired. Long day."
He studied me for a second, then shrugged. "Let's have a drink. To the year ahead."
I hesitated. Mom was busy somewhere, the party winding down, and the idea of loosening up a little sounded tempting. "Yeah. Okay. Just a little."
Max grinned and poured from a bottle he'd stashed under the table. The liquid burned going down, sharp and warm, spreading through my chest. We talked more—about school, about Ethan's latest hookup story (he was apparently still bragging), about the party. Max kept complimenting the women in my family, laughing like it was casual, but each one landed heavier than the last. I drank more than I planned, the buzz creeping in slow, loosening my shoulders.
People started leaving. Coats were grabbed, goodbyes shouted, hugs exchanged. The music dropped even lower, just background now. The house felt emptier, quieter, the energy of midnight fading into late-night calm.
Eventually it was just family left. And Max, Ethan, Chloe. Mrs. Amber had already gone home, saying she'd had too much and the house was right next door. No problem getting back safe.
Crash!
Glass shattered somewhere.
I turned fast, the room tilting slightly from the drinks. Bella and Ethan were facing each other near the snacks table, voices raised.
What the fuck is happening?
I stood up, legs unsteady, and started toward them.
To be continued…
