Chapter 2
He checked whether the external speakers of the laptop were working, but they were not the cause, so he rushed to the balcony and was shocked by the number of people running away from others in the street.
More than three hours had passed since the hospital incident.
It seemed that things had developed very quickly, and Amir could not believe his eyes to the point that he thought these were scenes from a movie, and that everything would stop as soon as the director ordered the filming to stop. His eyes searched right and left for the director, but to no avail, until he saw that corpse, which was undoubtedly real.
Not only because it was well-made, but because it belonged to his neighbor on the first floor.
Here he realized that this was not a movie, and that there was a war or something similar.
He ran to the television.
He found that most channels were not working, but one channel was broadcasting, and the female anchor was screaming with pleas to anyone concerned to escape to high places and not interact with anyone who was wounded or had red eyes.
Amir heard someone screaming. The screams grew louder and louder, as if they were getting closer.
He heard the echo of gunshots inside the building.
Out of fear, he dropped to the floor and put his hand over his head.
But it did not stop there, because he heard loud knocking on his apartment door.
He did not know what to do, until he realized it was his neighbor Mary, whom he secretly loved.
She began crying,
"Please open, I'm going to die."
His body moved one step forward and one step back, until, from the sound of her crying, he decided to look through the peephole in the door.
He found Mary sitting with her back to the door, while another neighbor was there, looking at her, calming her, and swearing that he was not infected and would not hurt her.
