Chapter 48 - Chapter 48: The Harry-Brand Toilet

Peter looked at Jack, who was holding steel pipes again, and asked,

"Boss, what are you going to do with those steel pipes?"

Holding two steel pipes about two centimeters thick, Jack smiled at Harry.

"Harry, why don't you take another guess?"

Harry felt a chill run down his spine under Jack's gaze and felt a little afraid. He joked nervously,

"Mr. Jack, you're not… planning to throw me in there, right? Ahaha…"

Hearing this, Jack showed a kind smile.

"As expected of the successor to the Osborn Group—you guessed it right away."

At those words, Harry's legs tensed, ready to bolt at any moment.

"Relax. It's just treatment, and I'll be testing my research along the way. Peter, come help."

Being called out, Garfield-Spider didn't know what Jack wanted him to do and asked in confusion,

"Boss, what do you need me to do?"

Jack pointed at the hollowed-out iron block behind Harry.

"See that human-shaped depression?"

Peter nodded.

"Now go grab your good brother and put him in. I'm starting the treatment."

Watching Harry retreat in fear, Peter tried to reassure him.

"Harry, the Boss won't kill you. It'll be fine."

Although Harry also felt Jack wouldn't kill him, his instincts screamed danger. Something deep inside urged him to run—fast.

Seeing that neither of them was moving, Jack decided to act himself.

Jack flashed behind Harry at extreme speed and kicked him down in one move.

The pit was only about half a meter deep, and the human-shaped depression at the bottom was roughly thirty centimeters deep.

Harry tried to resist, but his strength was nowhere near Jack's. In just a few moves, Jack slammed him into the human-shaped depression.

"Jack, what are you doing?! You already got the Osborn Group—what more do you want?" Harry panicked and struggled violently.

"Peter! Save me!"

Peter stood at the edge of the pit and said,

"Harry, trust the Boss. We won't harm you."

Soon, Jack fitted the steel pipes over Harry's limbs. Once the heavy pipes locked into place, Harry couldn't lift his arms at all.

Before long, Harry's hands and feet were completely encased in thick, sturdy steel pipes.

Lying in the human-shaped depression, Harry finally gave up struggling and pleaded,

"Peter, help me… I'm really scared."

Hearing Harry's near-crying voice, Peter asked again,

"Boss, is there really no other way? This method doesn't look very reliable."

Moved, Harry said,

"Peter, I knew you cared about me! Hurry up and save me!"

Watching from outside the pit, Gwen looked disgusted. She had thought this was one of Jack's pranks, but it turned into a dramatic love-hate opera.

Inside the pit, Jack rolled his eyes and calmly lied,

"This is a treatment device. Later, Quantum Beams will be released through these steel pipes. The power of the Sea of Quanta will fill this pit, and then Biological Microwaves will eliminate his family's genetic disease through oscillation."

"Got it? If not, hurry up and help. Don't waste my time."

Garfield-Spider didn't understand a word of it, but thinking of Wanda's mysterious abilities, it didn't sound completely impossible. Besides, Jack had no reason to kill Harry.

Under normal circumstances, Harry would've been impeached by the board today anyway—set up by those bastards in the Osborn Group and kicked out cleanly.

Harry shouted desperately,

"Peter! Save me! This sounds like complete bullshit! You can't believe this guy!"

Peter shook his head.

"Harry, I know Mr. Jack. If he wanted you dead, neither of us would be standing here."

Seeing Peter like this, Harry finally gave up resisting, as if accepting his fate.

Jack clapped his hands and climbed out of the pit, walking toward the massive iron block nearby.

Earlier, Garfield-Spider hadn't understood the purpose of this perfectly machined iron block. But watching Jack shove the block—over ten tons—forward, he suddenly realized something was terribly wrong.

"No—no—no! Boss, you can't do this!" Garfield-Spider panicked.

"Harry is innocent! You can't just crush him to death!"

He tried pushing from the other side, but Jack's strength was overwhelming. It was like a mantis trying to stop a carriage—utterly pointless.

Finally, the massive iron block slid over Harry.

A groove ran straight through the block, about twenty centimeters wide. Through it, Harry could still be seen lying in the human-shaped depression—though only his midsection remained visible.

The rest of his body was completely sealed beneath the iron block weighing over twenty tons, cutting off any chance of escape.

Peter and Gwen, city kids through and through, had no idea what this thing actually was.

Wanda, who had been on the phone in the distance, hung up and walked over. Seeing the iron block and the gap beneath Jack's feet, she blinked in confusion.

"Hubby… why did you use an iron block to build a toilet? And it doesn't even have a door."

The moment she said that—

Gwen and Peter: Σ(゚Д゚;)

Inside the pit, Harry's eyes flew open:

`(›ʘ̆mouthʘ̥̆‹)´

Harry, who had completely given up moments ago, suddenly began struggling like mad. The steel pipes rattled violently, slamming against the pit walls and even throwing off sparks.

Seeing this, Peter stepped forward to plead again.

"Step aside. I told you this is treatment. What the hell are you imagining?" Jack snapped, then glanced at Wanda.

"Wanda, stop saying random crap. Look how scared Harry is—his face is practically turning green."

At this moment, although Harry's face hadn't fully turned green yet, a faint green glow flickered deep within his eyes—almost impossible to notice without careful observation.

Peter leaned over the pit nervously and finally saw that eerie green glint.

Jack pulled Wanda aside and called Gwen over. The three of them left together, saying they needed to prepare for the treatment.

Only Garfield-Spider stayed behind with Harry.

He tried moving the massive iron block several times but failed completely. The block weighed over twenty tons, and Garfield-Spider—who hadn't fully awakened his potential yet—simply couldn't budge it.

That was exactly why Jack felt comfortable leaving.

Jack departed with Wanda and Gwen, leaving Peter and Harry behind.

After much pleading from Harry, Peter tried to free him—but it was useless. Still weak, he couldn't move the iron block at all.

Fortunately, Harry wasn't in immediate mortal danger. Otherwise, in a true moment of desperation, Garfield-Spider might have hurled the twenty-ton iron block straight into the sky.
