Hey guys,
As you know, we're now 56 chapters into the story, and I'm happy with how it's progressing. At this point, I definitely see myself finishing it.
There are a few things I wanted to address because some comments have brought them up in previous chapters.
First, this is not a stolen story. I have not taken anyone else's work. This is my own original story, and everything in it comes from my own ideas and writing.
Second, regarding 18+ scenes. Many of my other works contain a lot of adult content, so I understand why some readers are asking about it. There will be 18+ scenes in this story at some point, but for now, I'm trying to keep them to a minimum. My goal is to make sure the story can stand on its own through the plot, characters, and world-building before introducing those elements.
Another thing I'd like feedback on is the battle scenes. Writing fight scenes is much harder than it looks. I spend a lot of time researching different fighting styles, techniques, strategies, and power scaling to make the battles feel believable and exciting.
So let me know what you think. Are the fights working for you? Are they easy to follow? Do they feel balanced? Any feedback would be appreciated because it's one of the areas I'm constantly trying to improve.
The next chapter will be coming in about two days. I need a little more time to research and decide exactly how I want to portray the upcoming fight.
Thank you all for reading and supporting the story.

A mile away from the smoking crater, Team Kakashi sat in a quiet, undisturbed clearing hidden deep within the forest. The adrenaline was finally beginning to wear off.
Naruto sat cross-legged on the grass, his eyes closed in intense concentration. Steam visibly radiated from his skin as the residual Nine-Tails chakra rapidly knitted his scorched flesh and blistered muscles back together. Sakura, having recovered from her initial shock, knelt beside him, her hands glowing with the green light of the Mystical Palm Jutsu.
"Sakura, stop," Naruto said, his eyes remaining closed.
"Naruto, you're heavily burned. Let me—"
"You don't have enough chakra to heal this level of cellular damage properly," Naruto interrupted, his tone flat and practical, leaving no room for argument. "Just sit back, conserve your reserves, and let me heal myself. We still have a job to do."
Sakura bit her lip, pulling her hands back, but nodded.
Kakashi leaned against a nearby tree. "Now that Kabuto is captured and Orochimaru has been eliminated, raiding the hideout will be significantly easier. We have a clear path."
"Agreed," Yamato nodded, adjusting his Anbu gear. "With Orochimaru permanently out of the picture, our biggest operational headache is gone. We can properly breach the base, secure valuable intel, and extract without worrying about a Sannin ambushing us."
Naruto opened his eyes, the blue irises sharp and focused. "Don't celebrate yet. We still have one major problem on our hands."
Sakura's face suddenly lit up with a naive, almost euphoric hope. "What do you mean, Naruto? Orochimaru is gone! The biggest obstacle keeping Sasuke-kun captive is dead! We can finally save him, take him back, and return to Konoha where he belongs!"
In Sakura's mind, the dark, horrifying reality of the shinobi world had briefly melted away, replaced by a fantasy where her Prince Charming was simply waiting in a dungeon to be rescued now that the evil sorcerer was slain.
Sai, who was sitting on a low branch casually painting two birds onto a fresh scroll, didn't even look up as he shattered her illusion.
"Based on Captain Naruto's tactical judgment—which I agree with—I believe the 'major problem' he is referring to is Sasuke Uchiha himself," Sai stated, his signature fake smile plastered on his face. "Am I wrong?"
Sakura spun around, glaring at the pale artist. "Hey! What the hell do you mean by that?!"
Naruto let out a heavy, exhausted sigh, dragging a hand down his face. "Sakura, just drop it. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Right now, focus on the mission."
Once Naruto's injuries were fully healed, the squad moved out. It didn't take them long to locate the entrance to Orochimaru's subterranean lair—a heavy, unassuming rock door hidden in the side of a cliff.
Naruto took point and immediately dictated the new tactical formation.
"Yamato, you take Sakura and sweep the east wing. Kakashi, take Sai and secure the lower containment levels. I will clear the northern quadrant alone."
Nobody raised a single objection. Just an hour ago, they had watched this teenager physically tear a Legendary Sannin to shreds and reduce him to a pile of ash. Questioning his combat capability or his authority as Captain at this moment would be the height of foolishness. While Kakashi and Yamato technically outranked him in sheer seniority, in the field of battle, strength and tactical success dictated the hierarchy. Naruto had proven he held both.
The heavy stone doors slid open, and the team separated into the dark, torch-lit corridors.
The moment Naruto was alone in the northern wing, he formed a cross with his fingers. Poof! Poof! Poof! A dozen Shadow Clones materialized in the damp hallway.
"You know the drill," Naruto whispered to his clones. "Document everything. Copy any jutsu formulas, experiment logs, and base schematics you can find. But here is your primary directive..."
Naruto's eyes hardened. "Find Karin. And find the location of any other Uzumaki test subjects. Do not engage, just locate."
The clones nodded silently and dispersed like ghosts into the adjacent rooms.
Finding Karin was Naruto's primary, unspoken motive for this entire mission. He knew from his knowledge of the timeline that she was currently stationed at one of Orochimaru's southern bases, guarding test subjects. But he couldn't be absolutely certain she wasn't currently visiting this facility, or if the timeline had shifted.
He could have simply interrogated Kabuto about her. But Naruto was playing a long game. If he asked Kabuto about Karin, the bespectacled spy would undoubtedly use that information during his official interrogation back in Konoha. The Leaf's Intelligence Division—and more importantly, Danzo's Root—would immediately wonder why Naruto Uzumaki was secretly looking for an obscure female subordinate of Orochimaru.
He needed plausible deniability. If he found her organically, he could claim it was a chance encounter. He could not afford a paper trail.
As Naruto pushed deeper into the facility, slicing through thick iron locks with wind-natured chakra, the true depth of Orochimaru's depravity came to light.
He entered a massive laboratory filled with glowing green preservation tubes, surgical tables, and stacks of bloody, disorganized files. As Naruto flipped through the mission reports and experiment logs, a profound wave of nausea hit him.
The documents detailed gruesome, unspeakable acts. Human vivisections, curse mark failure rates, children grafted with animal DNA, and psychological torture designed to break the human mind for mind-transfer preparations. Seeing the results of these experiments in real life, rather than just knowing of them in passing, was a horrifying reality check.
Deep within the seal, even the Nine-Tails was disturbed.
"By the Sage..." Kurama's deep voice echoed in Naruto's mind, sounding unusually revolted. "I am literally known across the elemental nations as the Incarnation of Disaster and Cruelty. But this... this makes me want to vomit. It makes me question my own title. Humans are a disease."
'I'm glad we killed that bastard, Kurama,' Naruto thought back, his grip tightening on the bloody file in his hand until the paper crinkled. 'We did the world a favor today.'
Naruto tossed the file onto the metal desk and turned toward the exit, preparing to move to the next sector to check on his clones' progress.
But just as he took his first step, the ground beneath his feet violently shuddered.
BOOOOOOM!
A massive, deafening explosion rocked the entire subterranean facility. Dust and debris rained down from the stone ceiling, and the distant sound of crumbling architecture echoed through the stone corridors.
Naruto's eyes snapped toward the ceiling, his sensory net instantly flaring outward. He didn't need to guess what had caused the blast. He recognized that sharp, lightning-laced chakra signature instantly.
The Prince had awakened. Sasuke Uchiha was making his move.
