Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The Key Is Coming!

"Phew…"

Wiping the sweat from his forehead, Yuki let out a long breath as he looked at the room, which had gone from utter chaos to spotless cleanliness.

Although the yuki's of the two parallel worlds were technically the same person, their life experiences had shaped them into people with completely different personalities.

The current Yuki had a mild obsessive-compulsive disorder and a strong obsession with cleanliness. His living space had to be tidy, and everything needed to be placed neatly.

However, the professional player Yuki lived in complete disorder.

When Yuki first entered the rented apartment of the player version of himself, he was completely stunned by the mess.

On second thought, it was understandable.

In order to survive in the NBA, player Yuki trained extremely hard every single day. He exhausted himself so thoroughly that once he returned home, he didn't even want to lift a finger.

Cleaning the house? That was out of the question.

As a professional basketball player, Yuki earned the minimum salary in the NBA—$470,000 per year. After paying the high U.S. income tax, there wasn't much money left.

As a result, the apartment he rented was very ordinary. Yet, within this small space, it was filled with jerseys, sneakers, and piles of basketball-related books.

It was obvious that for player Yuki, there was nothing in life except basketball.

Perhaps that was also the reason he had managed to make it onto an NBA roster.

After all, even sitting at the end of the bench, Yuki sota had secured a real NBA contract.

Across all of Japan, the number of players who had accomplished this could be counted on one hand.

After spending most of the day cleaning the apartment, Yuki finally had time to sit down.

The moment he relaxed, his eyes were drawn to the laptop in the corner of the room.

Unlike the player Yuki, the current Yuki was a standard internet addict. Living without going online felt unnatural to him.

He skillfully powered on the laptop and entered the password. Since he had inherited all of player Yuki's memories, there were no secrets—but the sheer volume of memories meant he often had to consciously recall specific details.

Once the computer booted up, he discovered that the desktop was completely clean—no games at all. The bookmarks were filled almost entirely with links to major overseas sports websites.

Then, his sharp eyes caught a familiar site among them.

It was a website he used frequently in his previous world—the largest sports forum used in across all of Asia: Reddit.

"I wonder what netizens think of player Yuki…"

Curiosity surged in his heart.

As a veteran keyboard warrior, Yuki knew all too well that with player Yuki's NBA performance, his reputation online wouldn't be good even if he is only japnese player playing in nba—especially on a forum full of trolls.

The most typical example was Zhou Qi, the former chinese domestic league star. During his two seasons with the Rockets, he had been endlessly mocked online.

Relying on Yao Ming's connections to enter the NBA.

A gold-medal water dispenser guard.

Lazy training. Eating, drinking, and slacking off…

After Zhou Qi failed to perform well in the NBA and returned to the CBA, the negative comments became overwhelming.

Yuki's current situation was actually quite similar—except he wasn't nearly as famous as Zhou Qi. After all, he had entered the NBA directly after graduating from college and had never played in the any Asian basketball league.

Logging into an account skillfully, Yuki typed his name into the search bar.

Instantly, countless posts appeared on the screen.

"Oh? I didn't expect my popularity to be this high."

Yuki raised his eyebrows in surprise, then noticed the most eye-catching pinned post at the top.

"An Analysis of How Long Yuki Sato Can Stay with the Warriors."

Clicking into the post, he was greeted by a long and detailed discussion.

The original poster was clearly a seasoned fan with some basketball knowledge. He criticized Yuki from multiple angles before finally concluding that Yuki Sato would definitely be waived by the Warriors before the end of the regular season.

Because the post was well-written and logically structured, it had attracted many replies—most of which were filled with ridicule.

"Heh, I knew Yuki Sato was foolish enough to go back to the B.league for 'further training' after humiliating himself in the NBA. Did he really think every Asian player could be Jeremy Lin?"

"I've seen Yuki Sato play. At his level, he probably wouldn't even make it in the B.League. No body, no skills—what can he do?"

Yuki scrolled down to the final page, where a newer comment stood out.

" Yuki Sato actually played well against the Pacers! He locked down the red-hot Stuckey and went 3-for-3 from three. Without him, the Warriors might've lost that game!"

But immediately below it came a rebuttal.

"Bullshit! What does the Warriors' comeback have to do with Yuki Sato? Stuckey is just a bench player—he was bound to cool off eventually. Yuki Sato just got lucky. The Warriors have pulled off late comebacks plenty of times this season—it's routine."

As if that wasn't enough, the poster added another line:

"You defended a role player for a few possessions and you're proud? Try guarding a real star. Next game against the Knicks—let him defend Carmelo Anthony. Anthony would beat the crap out of him!"

Knicks… Carmelo Anthony?

Yuki took a deep breath.

Deep down, he was still a veteran keyboard warrior and professional troll.

"This is the key moment!"

With a shout, Yuki slammed his hands onto the keyboard. The keys clattered violently as he typed furiously, finishing everything in one smooth motion before smashing the Enter key.

"You're only brave on the internet! Want to beat someone up? Come to the arena and try! See if Yuki doesn't beat the crap out of you instead! Forget it—arguing with keyboard warriors is pointless. Let me ask you this: what if Yuki Sato really locks down Anthony in the next game?"

After posting the reply, Yuki felt instantly refreshed.

But in the next second, his expression froze.

He stared at the screen in disbelief.

Next to the post he had just made, the username "Yuki Sato" was displayed in bold letters—

And beside it was a golden verification badge:

"Yuki Sato – Active NBA Professional Player"

"F*ck—!"

Yuki was completely stunned.

Only then did he realize—

This wasn't his old computer.

It was player Yuki's laptop.

And he had just posted that comment…

Using player Yuki's officially verified account.
