If the Wizard Clan were to be wantonly slaughtered, causing instability in the Six Paths of Reincarnation, even a Sage would be unwilling to bear such immense Karma.
Furthermore, no one could be certain whether Houtu Goddess was truly unable to reappear. If Houtu Goddess did reappear, what then?
Would those beings who had once slain the Wizard Clan be held accountable by Houtu Goddess?
No being would be so foolish as to completely burn bridges, always leaving a path of retreat for himself.
Therefore, even without the protection of Houtu Goddess, as long as the Wizard Clan remained within the Six Paths of Reincarnation, their survival was absolutely not a problem.
Relying on the Six Paths of Reincarnation and slowly accumulating merits, the Wizard Clan should have gradually recovered their vitality. How then did they end up in their current situation?
"Your Majesty is unaware, but a Disciple of the Western Religion came to the Six Paths of Reincarnation and took away a large amount of merit from the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
Now, our Wizard Clan is already operating at a deficit, and it is quite difficult for us to even barely maintain our survival!" Qin Guangwang said helplessly.
According to him, after Great Wizard Chi You and other members of the Wizard Clan perished, a Western Religion Disciple named Ksitigarbha came to the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
Ksitigarbha continuously enlightened vengeful spirits in the Six Paths of Reincarnation. They initially didn't mind, and out of respect for the Western Religion, they didn't dare to interfere casually.
However, Ksitigarbha was indeed very capable. He continuously enlightened vengeful spirits, not only gaining immense merit but also gradually taking control of the authority of the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
For the Wizard Clan, the authority of the Six Paths of Reincarnation meant merit. The more authority one controlled, the more merit one gained.
Originally, the merit the Wizard Clan obtained in the Six Paths of Reincarnation could not only offset their Karma but also leave some surplus.
Because of this, the Wizard Clan could not only survive well in the Six Paths of Reincarnation but also gradually recover their vitality.
However, with the appearance of Ksitigarbha, the authority controlled by the Wizard Clan decreased, which also meant that the merit obtained by the Wizard Clan decreased.
With less merit obtained, they gradually became unable to offset the Karma on their bodies. The Wizard Clan, let alone recovering their vitality, could not even maintain their original situation.
Moreover, as time passed, the authority controlled by Ksitigarbha was gradually increasing, and the situation of the Wizard Clan naturally became more difficult.
"Western Religion? Ksitigarbha? So that's how it is!" King Zhou muttered to himself.
Originally, he felt strange, but now, after hearing Qin Guangwang's explanation, he finally understood the whole story.
In his opinion, Great Wizard Chi You and Ksitigarbha were definitely not two separate matters, but very likely one single matter.
Sowing discord was merely a routine operation for the Western Religion. He had witnessed it once before.
Just like this Investiture of the Gods, under the Western Religion's covert instigation, the Chan and Jie Sects fought tooth and nail, and in the end, the Western Religion reaped the benefits.
Did the group of Wizard Clan, represented by Great Wizard Chi You, have the idea of competing for the Human Emperor's position because of the Western Religion's covert instigation?
Was Houtu Goddess's subsequent falling into slumber something that the two Sages of the Western Religion had already planned?
No matter how one looked at it, it was quite a coincidence that Ksitigarbha, a Disciple of the Western Religion, entered the Six Paths of Reincarnation not long after Houtu Goddess fell into slumber.
Gradually taking control of the authority of the Six Paths of Reincarnation and oppressing the Wizard Clan to the point of struggling for survival seemed more like a premeditated act.
He could be certain that all the events that occurred in the Six Paths of Reincarnation were definitely related to the Western Religion.
"Perfect! I haven't settled the previous grudge yet, and this matter can be settled together!" King Zhou thought to himself.
Last time, the Western Religion plotted against Nezha from behind, intending to sow discord between Great Shang and the Jie Sect.
Although Sect Master Tongtian suppressed Spirit Mountain with his sword, that was only Sect Master Tongtian standing up for the Jie Sect. He had not sought accountability from the Western Religion.
If one also considered that his predecessor was very likely also plotted against by the Sages of the Western Religion, his grudges with the Western Religion were not few.
It was only because the Chan Sect was currently the main enemy, and he temporarily could not provoke too many opponents, that he had set the Western Religion aside.
But this did not mean that he had forgotten the animosity between him and the Western Religion. When the time was right, this grudge would still be repaid.
Now, upon learning that the Western Religion had designs on the Six Paths of Reincarnation and had been plotting for it for a long time, how could he let go of this opportunity?
This time, he not only wanted to gain sufficient benefits in the Six Paths of Reincarnation but also wanted to make the Western Religion's efforts come to naught.
"Please, Your Majesty, lend a helping hand. If You can change the current situation of the Six Paths of Reincarnation, our Wizard Clan will be eternally grateful!" Qin Guangwang said.
All the Wizard Clan looked at King Zhou with anticipation. For them, this might already be their last hope.
If even King Zhou could not do anything, perhaps they could only accept their fate. As long as they could survive, there was nothing they could not give up.
"Don't worry! I already have some ideas, but as for the specifics, I'll have to see first!" King Zhou said with a smile.
Chapter 157: Ksitigarbha!
King Zhou knew nothing about what was going on in the Six Paths of Reincarnation or what methods the Western Religion employed.
Making conclusions at this point was naturally premature. Only by personally going to see for himself could he possibly know the truth of the matter and find the crucial point.
And in the Underworld, there happened to be a Western Religion Disciple. From him, it would not be difficult to find clues.
At the same time, Ksitigarbha, the Western Religion Disciple who was originally sitting peacefully in the Underworld, now had a sorrowful expression and a slight frown.
Ksitigarbha was no stranger to King Zhou. After all, this Human Emperor had repeatedly shocked the world, and even from afar in the Six Paths of Reincarnation, he had heard of him.
What King Zhou's intentions were in suddenly coming to the Six Paths of Reincarnation, this made him vigilant.
After all, as far as he knew, King Zhou possessed extraordinary means, easily subjugating the Four Seas Dragon Clan and transforming them into the Human Clan's Luck totem.
He, who had been stationed in the Underworld for many years, naturally knew the situation of the Wizard Clan in the Underworld very well.
He feared that King Zhou had come for the Wizard Clan, and this was something he could never agree to.
After all, both he and the Western Religion had plotted for countless years for this, so how could they watch the fat meat in their mouths disappear?
Just as he was pondering how to deal with King Zhou, he saw the Ten Kings of Hell leading King Zhou towards him.
He hadn't actively sought out King Zhou, but King Zhou had instead taken the initiative to come to him first?
King Zhou had only recently arrived in the Underworld, so why did he not go anywhere else and immediately come to find him?
Was all of this merely a coincidence? Or had King Zhou already discovered something?
Just as countless thoughts raced through Ksitigarbha's mind, King Zhou and his entourage had already arrived before him.
"Ksitigarbha greets Your Majesty!" Ksitigarbha put away his various thoughts and said expressionlessly.
No matter what King Zhou's purpose was, he had no choice but to deal with it carefully and dared not lose his manners at this moment.
After all, if he gave King Zhou an excuse to take advantage of him, he would undoubtedly fall into a passive position.
First, he had to put himself in an invincible position, and then react accordingly. The Western Religion would not sit idly by while King Zhou bullied him.
Sages illuminate the world and can know everything in a single thought. They had probably already known that King Zhou had come to the Underworld.
Ksitigarbha's guess was indeed correct. King Zhou had not concealed his whereabouts when he came to the Underworld this time, so the Sages naturally knew.
He had repeatedly accomplished earth-shattering deeds, and his every move naturally attracted the attention of countless beings.
After all, no one knew whether he would once again do something earth-shattering next, especially in a place like the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
"Senior Brother, King Zhou has gone to the Underworld. This action is probably unusual and must be guarded against!" Sage Zhunti said with a sorrowful expression.
If King Zhou had gone somewhere else, they might not have needed to pay attention, but this time it was the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
To plot for the Six Paths of Reincarnation, their Western Religion had worked tirelessly for countless years, so they naturally would not allow any accidents to occur.
But King Zhou was indeed a trouble. His actions were repeatedly unexpected, and he did not know what earth-shattering deeds King Zhou could do in the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
"King Zhou's actions are indeed somewhat unusual. We must pay close attention, and if necessary, we can only personally intervene!" Sage Jieyin said.
He also realized the seriousness of the matter. The importance of the Six Paths of Reincarnation to their Western Religion was self-evident.
If there was even a slight mishap, not only would countless years of hard work be in vain, but the impact on the future of their Western Religion would be immeasurable.
It was no wonder he was so cautious. After all, that was King Zhou. After experiencing various events, who would still underestimate King Zhou in the slightest?
In fact, the moment they discovered King Zhou entering the Six Paths of Reincarnation, the two Sages of the Western Religion secretly became vigilant and made preparations to act at any time.
Being able to make two Sages so nervous, it was clear how important King Zhou's current standing was.
"It is said that You enlighten vengeful spirits in the Underworld. This act of great merit is truly admirable!" King Zhou said.
Enlightening vengeful spirits was not an easy task. How many hundreds of millions of vengeful spirits entered the Underworld every day?
Ksitigarbha, stationed in the Underworld, needed to enlighten the resentment from these vengeful spirits at all times. This was naturally a laborious task.
If it was for a short period, it would be fine, but to repeat the same operation day after day for tens of thousands of years was by no means an easy feat.
Only those with great perseverance and great willpower could accomplish this, and Ksitigarbha had done very well in the Underworld.
If one disregarded other factors, Ksitigarbha himself was absolutely the most outstanding Disciple in the Western Religion.
Thinking about it, if Ksitigarbha himself wasn't excellent enough, the two Sages of the Western Religion would not have entrusted such an important task to him.
"Beings are sorrowful. When they reincarnate, they all carry immense malevolence. If it cannot be resolved, how can they enter Reincarnation and rebirth?
My Buddha is merciful. It is only right to persuade beings to do good. Merit is not what I seek; I am merely upholding the path in my heart!" Ksitigarbha said slowly.
As he spoke, Ksitigarbha's Face already bore a look of compassion, and a faint Buddha light emanated from his body, illuminating the Underworld and causing countless vengeful spirits to prostrate themselves.
One could see that these vengeful spirits all had devout expressions, appearing enlightened, and prostrated themselves before Ksitigarbha.
Seeing this scene, one would probably think that Ksitigarbha had cultivated to a profound level, that he was a truly enlightened immortal with great compassion, which was admirable.
But King Zhou's Face only showed undisguised disgust, and his disdainful emotions were equally unconcealed.
"Today's fruit, tomorrow's cause. The malevolence on a being's body is inherently due to their actions in life. If they committed evil in life, they will naturally be filled with malevolence.
Can a simple phrase of 'guiding people towards goodness' resolve the evil committed in life? Can it wash away the malevolence on one's body, put down the butcher's knife, and instantly become a Buddha?" King Zhou said disdainfully.
Ksitigarbha enlightening vengeful spirits in the Underworld, making them let go of the malevolence in their hearts, and then going into Reincarnation and rebirth, this was actually not wrong
But in his view, Ksitigarbha's actions, or rather the ideology of Western Religion, were utterly ridiculous.
Why do resentful souls carry malevolent energy? It's all because of their actions in life; today's consequences are born from yesterday's causes.
For example, if a being was subjected to endless humiliation during their life and died with nowhere to report their grievances, how could they abandon the malevolent energy in their heart and reincarnate?
Or, if a being committed evil and countless massacres during their life, imbued with malevolent energy, could they truly achieve Buddhahood by simply putting down their butcher's knife?
In his view, guiding people towards good is not wrong, but there should always be a clear explanation for good and evil in the world.
If one committed evil in life, they should undergo the baptism of the eighteen layers of Hell and pay a sufficient price to cleanse their sins.
It shouldn't be that a sudden realization, kneeling on the ground, and prostrating before Ksitigarbha can cleanse all sins.
If one suffered injustice in life, then naturally, grievances should be avenged, and hatred repaid, rather than abandoning grudges and directly reincarnating.
The Karma of Western Religion seems beautiful, but in his view, it's nothing more than a castle in the air, full of falsehoods.
"What the Human Emperor says is inevitably biased and deviates from the path of the Saint; I cannot agree," Ksitigarbha said.
King Zhou wanted him to abandon the path he had long upheld with just a few words, which was naturally impossible.
In his view, King Zhou's remarks clearly went against the doctrines of their Western Religion.
And the doctrines of their Western Religion were the Great Dao of the Saint; how could others comment on them so arbitrarily?
Even if King Zhou was the Human Emperor and had done many incredible things, he still did not have this qualification.
The Saint's Great Dao is the Great Dao of Heaven and Earth, pointing directly to the essence of all things; how could King Zhou understand it?
"Those whose paths differ cannot plan together! You are too lazy to waste words with me; You only need to know that your path is wrong!" King Zhou said in a deep voice.
How could he not know the doctrines of Western Religion? Debating with Disciples of Western Religion was tantamount to asking for trouble.
Disciples of Western Religion had no other skills, but they were excellent at debating; they could even argue that the dead were alive.
But he didn't need to debate with Ksitigarbha; in the face of ironclad facts, no matter how eloquent Ksitigarbha was, what could he do?
At that time, whatever he decided, even if it was wrong, Western Religion would have to accept it.
He came to see Ksitigarbha precisely to confirm some things and to throw Ksitigarbha into disarray so he could discern something.
"Human Emperor, what exactly do You want to do? Whether my path is wrong or not, what does it have to do with You?" Ksitigarbha said in a deep voice.
From King Zhou's tone, he clearly heard an ill intent, which made him feel uneasy.
This was King Zhou after all; if he truly came with ill intent, what methods would he employ?
Given King Zhou's past actions, if he truly targeted him, could he really handle it?
But after much thought, from the moment he entered the Six Paths of Reincarnation, he actually had no retreat.
Let alone facing King Zhou, even facing the Saint, he could not retreat half a step; the two Saints of Western Religion would not allow him to retreat either.
But then he thought, he still had two Saints standing behind him; even if he was not King Zhou's opponent, the two Saints would not watch him fail.
This was the Six Paths of Reincarnation, not Great Shang; he truly didn't believe King Zhou could act so recklessly here.
"What I do in the Six Paths of Reincarnation has nothing to do with You; You just need to watch!" King Zhou said.
He was not going to deal with Ksitigarbha; this actually wouldn't help solve the problem of the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
Looking beyond the surface, the problem with the Six Paths of Reincarnation actually didn't lie with Western Religion.
To be precise, the problem with the Six Paths of Reincarnation had existed for a long time; it was just discovered by Western Religion and exploited.
As long as the problems within the Six Paths of Reincarnation could be resolved, Western Religion's various schemes would naturally become a joke.
Originally, he didn't know where the problem lay, but after seeing Ksitigarbha and witnessing Ksitigarbha's actions in the Six Paths of Reincarnation, he knew.
In truth, the matter was not complicated; the problem was not with the Witch Clan, but that the Six Paths of Reincarnation itself was incomplete.
Even the current Heavenly Court was the same; due to the incomplete number of Immortals and Gods, the Heavenly Dao's authority could not be perfected.
The Six Paths of Reincarnation was also the same; due to various reasons, the Six Paths of Reincarnation itself was incomplete.
It was this incompleteness that gave Western Religion an opportunity, allowing Ksitigarbha to gradually grow stronger in the Underworld.
Solving this problem was both difficult and easy, depending on who did it.
Chapter 158: The Witch Clan Submits, Merits Descend from Heaven!
Ksitigarbha looked at King Zhou with suspicion; he was certain that King Zhou's visit this time definitely had some ideas about the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
But how King Zhou would act, what his ultimate goal was, and what methods he possessed, Ksitigarbha knew nothing.
One thing was certain: once King Zhou made a move, it would be earth-shattering, and he definitely couldn't stand idly by.
To attack King Zhou? This was the Six Paths of Reincarnation, not Great Shang; it was hard to say how much strength King Zhou could exert here.
If he lacked the blessing of Human Clan Luck, what was King Zhou worth? Could his strength reach the Golden Immortal level?
As an outstanding Disciple of Western Religion, his strength was not inferior to that of the Core Disciples of Chan Sect and Jie Sect in the slightest.
If he could suppress King Zhou in one fell swoop—killing him was certainly impossible—but if he could make King Zhou suffer a humiliating defeat, he would surely become famous throughout the world.
However, since King Zhou dared to come to the Six Paths of Reincarnation alone, how could he have no reliance at all?
From King Zhou's past actions, it was not difficult to see that this Human Emperor always planned thoroughly before acting.
If he were to make the first move, would he fall into a trap King Zhou had already set, ultimately suffering a crushing defeat?
Ksitigarbha was truly helpless; if it were any other being, he would not be so hesitant.
It was simply that King Zhou was too terrifying; his past actions had astonished even the Saints.
Even as Western Religion's most outstanding Disciple, he still felt immense pressure when facing King Zhou.
"Ten Kings of Hell, the Human Clan can accept the Witch Clan; it just depends on whether the Witch Clan is willing!" King Zhou said.
He completely ignored Ksitigarbha; since he had decided to help the Ten Kings of Hell solve the problem of the Six Paths of Reincarnation, he would naturally act.
However, before solving the problem of the Six Paths of Reincarnation, he first had to solve the problem of the Witch Clan.
The Witch Clan was the Witch Clan, and the Six Paths of Reincarnation was the Six Paths of Reincarnation; these two were not the same thing.
Essentially, the Witch Clan was no different from the Four Seas Dragon Clan; both were once the overlords of Heaven and Earth, and both were now in decline.
Since the Human Clan could accept the Four Seas Dragon Clan and allow them to shed their boundless Karma, they naturally could also accept the Witch Clan.
As for the Six Paths of Reincarnation, it was the most important place in Heaven and Earth, and not just anyone could control it.
Allowing the Human Clan to control the Six Paths of Reincarnation might not be a good choice; it could even be a huge hidden danger.
Western Religion was actually very aware of this, which was why Western Religion had never considered incorporating the Six Paths of Reincarnation into Western Religion.
Allowing Ksitigarbha, this Disciple, to enter the Underworld and occupy a crucial position in the Six Paths of Reincarnation was already enough.
For Western Religion to have a share in the Six Paths of Reincarnation and hold significant authority, the benefits were already immeasurable.
If the Witch Clan could, like the Four Seas Dragon Clan, submit to the Human Clan, it would actually mean that the Human Clan controlled a certain authority over the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
After all, the Witch Clan was tasked with maintaining the stability of the Six Paths of Reincarnation; they were inherently inextricably linked to the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
Therefore, the Human Clan didn't need to control the Six Paths of Reincarnation; simply controlling the Witch Clan was actually enough.
In this way, the Six Paths of Reincarnation would still be the Six Paths of Reincarnation of all living beings, not the Six Paths of Reincarnation of the Human Clan.
Although the difference between the two sounded small, the distinction between them was as vast as Heaven and Earth, with completely different implications.
As long as there are living beings, there will be selfish desires; he himself was like this, and so were the Saints.
The Heavenly Dao is inherently impartial and selfless; if it were controlled by a living being, it would inevitably be tainted by the living being's selfish desires.
The Six Paths of Reincarnation was also the same; only by being transcendent from Heaven and Earth could the Six Paths of Reincarnation maintain its independence and thus remain unaffected by external factors.
The current Six Paths of Reincarnation could be said to be in utter chaos, with countless beings interfering with Reincarnation; this was the fundamental reason for the instability of the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
He also didn't want the Human Clan to influence the Six Paths of Reincarnation at some point in the future, thereby completely corrupting the place of the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
This was not an impossible occurrence; any act of overestimating human nature would ultimately lead to self-inflicted suffering.
"As long as the Human Emperor can lend a hand, why not have the Witch Clan be like the Four Seas Dragon Clan?" Qin Guangwang said in a deep voice.
They had thought it through very clearly: compared to the survival of their race, anything else was insignificant.
If they couldn't resolve their current predicament, the Witch Clan would only grow weaker and weaker, inevitably heading towards extinction.
Only by surviving would they be qualified to talk about other matters; if they couldn't survive, any further calculations were meaningless.
Look at the Four Seas Dragon Clan and the Phoenix Clan; what kind of lives did they lead before, and what kind of lives do they lead now?
With such examples before them, the Witch Clan was actually not afraid that King Zhou would truly mistreat them, so these words were naturally sincere.
"Good! Although our two clans have some estrangement, in the ancient era, the Witch Clan also protected the Human Clan, so let the grievances be written off here.
From now on, the Witch Clan will be like the Four Seas Dragon Clan, a part of my Human Clan; as long as the Human Clan does not perish, the Witch Clan will not perish!" King Zhou said loudly.
In the ancient era, although the Witch Clan, led by Great Wizard Chi You, contended with Yellow Emperor Xuanyuan for the position of Human Emperor, creating a rift between the Human Clan and the Witch Clan.
But during the flourishing era of the Witch and Demon Clans, the Human Clan was still very weak, struggling to survive on the land, constantly facing the threat of the Demon Clan.
When the Human Clan was weak, the Witch Clan had protected them, helping them through the most difficult times.
Strictly speaking, the two clans could be considered to have settled their grievances, and now neither owed the other anything.
From this point on, the Witch Clan joined the Human Clan, becoming a part of the Human Clan, and the two clans would no longer be separate
Just like the Four Seas Dragon Clan and the Phoenix Clan, as long as the Human Clan Luck flourishes, the Witch Clan will never Face the crisis of extinction.
Moreover, with the Human Clan's permission, the Witch Clan would not need to remain in the Six Paths of Reincarnation. A portion of the Witch Clan could live on the great earth.
His previous words were actually the Human Emperor proclaiming this matter to heaven and earth. As long as the Witch Clan agreed, they would receive the recognition of heaven and earth.
Qin Guangwang and the others had already made their decision and naturally could not turn back at this moment. They all agreed to the matter.
In an instant, heaven and earth shook, and boundless merit descended from the Nine Heavens, heading towards the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
The merit fell into the Six Paths of Reincarnation, eventually splitting into two. Seventy percent landed on the heads of Qin Guangwang and the other Witch Clan members.
Thirty percent landed on King Zhou's head. Unlike the Four Seas Dragon Clan and the Phoenix Clan, this time the merit did not transform into a supreme treasure of merit.
The merit remained merit, consolidating within his body, which instantly put King Zhou in a good mood.
For him, one more merit Magic Treasure was not very useful. On the contrary, the merit itself was of greater help to him.
Moreover, perhaps because the Witch Clan needed to maintain the stability of the Six Paths of Reincarnation, and was inherently quite important, the merit descended by the Heavenly Dao this time was actually not small.
It was even more than when the Four Seas Dragon Clan became the Human Clan's Luck totem. His thirty percent share was already a massive amount of merit.
With such a large amount of merit, he only needed to resume secluded cultivation, and in a very short time, he would surely make rapid progress.
Breaking through a Realm was likely impossible, but it could save him a lot of cultivation time.
Just this point alone meant his trip to the Six Paths of Reincarnation was not in vain, not to mention he also made the Witch Clan a part of the Human Clan.
A starved camel is still bigger than a horse. Even if the Witch Clan's strength was not what it once was, they were still the former overlords of heaven and earth, and they still had some foundation.
If one also considered Houtu Goddess, a being comparable to a Sage, the Witch Clan's strength was even far above that of the Four Seas Dragons.
As the boundless merit descended, countless Witch Clan members wept tears of joy. The Karma they had carried for countless years finally completely dissipated.
From then on, they were free from any shackles, and the crisis of extinction vanished. How could they not be excited?
"Thank You, Human Emperor, for your great kindness. From now on, my Witch Clan will surely follow the Human Clan's lead!" Qin Guangwang said excitedly.
Before this, the Witch Clan's life had been truly bitter. Any cultivator dared to act wantonly in the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
But from today onwards, backed by the Human Clan, with King Zhou, a top-tier expert, supporting them, who would dare to act presumptuously in the Six Paths of Reincarnation?
More importantly, their Witch Clan could finally return to the great earth—something countless Witch Clan members had longed for for countless years.
"Don't be so excited. This is just the beginning; there's still a lot to do!" King Zhou said with a smile.
Making the Witch Clan a part of the Human Clan only resolved the Witch Clan's crisis, but it did not solve the problems within the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
For him, this was merely a simple task, completely without difficulty, but the Six Paths of Reincarnation was different.
Solving the problems within the Six Paths of Reincarnation was not a simple matter; even he had to consider it carefully.
Moreover, if he was not mistaken, some people probably would not allow him to interfere in the matters of the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
Everything was as he had expected. Just after the boundless merit descended, boundless phenomena appeared within the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
Purple qi came from the east for thirty thousand li, golden springs gushed from the earth, golden lotuses descended from the sky, and Buddhas smiled while holding flowers...
Such phenomena naturally indicated the arrival of Sages, and not just one, but two Sages.
"Disciple Ksitigarbha, greets Master! Greets Sect Master Zhunti!" Ksitigarbha knelt on the ground and said respectfully.
Sage Jieyin and Sage Zhunti of the Western Religion had arrived. They finally could not sit still and could not watch King Zhou act wantonly in the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
The Witch Clan becoming a part of the Human Clan was already the limit they could bear, but King Zhou clearly did not intend to stop there.
They had to come. If they had delayed any longer, they were truly afraid that King Zhou would do something even more outrageous.
"Human Emperor, what happened today is enough. Let's stop here, how about it?" Sage Jieyin said.
For Sages, this was actually a concession, as they had not prevented the Witch Clan from becoming a part of the Human Clan.
If King Zhou did not appreciate this, he would truly be disrespecting the Sages and would inevitably suffer their wrath.
"What if I don't agree?"
King Zhou looked at the two Sages of the Western Religion, with no fear on his Face.
Chapter 159: World-renowned, it's King Zhou again?
When a Sage personally descends, whatever they say is not actually a discussion with any living being.
Sages' words follow the law; their words are the Dao, representing rules. Who dares to refute a Sage's words?
The two Sages of the Western Religion had personally descended and said that today's matter would end here. Who would dare to disagree?
However, upon hearing these words, countless living beings were actually shocked, because when had a Sage ever been so easy to talk to?
To speak to King Zhou in a consultative tone was truly unprecedented. In the entire heaven and earth, who could make a Sage act this way?
For countless living beings, this was already a great honor, something that could be boasted about even after countless ages.
At this moment, giving the Sages Face and taking advantage of the situation might even create a beautiful story.
But facing two Sages, King Zhou actually showed no respect at all, daring to disagree with the Sages' opinion?
What was this? This was simply audacious, an act of such recklessness as had never been seen in countless ages.
Was King Zhou truly not afraid? A Sage's wrath could cause heaven and earth to collapse. Could King Zhou withstand it?
"King Zhou, my Senior Brother and I, as dignified Sages, are discussing this with You properly. Do not push Your Luck!" Sage Zhunti said in a deep voice.
Although they had guessed it in their hearts, it was only a guess. According to their judgment, the probability of this happening was actually not high.
King Zhou should be very clear that the Chan Religion was currently Great Shang's great enemy, and their Western Religion had always remained out of it.
The Chan Religion was already difficult to deal with. At this moment, to also offend the Western Religion and two Sages was clearly not a wise move.
The sensible approach would naturally be to stop at the appropriate moment and turn a blind eye to the matters in the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
After all, King Zhou did not return empty-handed this time. With the Witch Clan becoming part of the Human Clan, King Zhou had already reaped immense profits.
Strictly speaking, the Human Clan and the Western Religion should have jointly shared the benefits in the Six Paths of Reincarnation, which was actually a result both sides could accept.
But now, King Zhou actually wanted to push his Luck even further? Was he trying to drive their Western Religion out of the Six Paths of Reincarnation and monopolize everything?
This was unbearable! They, as dignified Sages, had conceded so much, yet King Zhou still did not know what was good for him.
It seemed they truly had to display the Sages' methods to make the audacious King Zhou understand what the Sages' methods truly were.
"It's not pushing my Luck. The Six Paths of Reincarnation has flaws, and it concerns whether countless living beings can be reborn. You naturally have an inescapable responsibility!" King Zhou said.
Was the Western Religion discussing this with him properly? On the surface, it seemed so, but in reality, it was not at all.
It was impossible for the Witch Clan to join the Western Religion; the two Sages of the Western Religion were actually well aware of this.
After all, the Western Religion was merely a Sage's Dao lineage, vastly different from the Human Clan and the Heavenly Court. Even if they subjugated the Witch Clan, no merit would descend.
Furthermore, Houtu Goddess had not perished; she was merely temporarily in distress. No one could guarantee whether Houtu Goddess would reappear in the world.
If Houtu Goddess reappeared and saw the Witch Clan become part of the Western Religion, her wrath would likely be enough to utterly destroy the entire Western Religion.
Houtu Goddess was, after all, the Master of the Six Paths of Reincarnation. If she truly decided to go all out, even Sages might feel their scalps tingle.
The Western Religion's original goal was to get a share in the Six Paths of Reincarnation. Not preventing the Witch Clan from joining the Human Clan was actually only natural.
Now, to bring up something that was not theirs as if they had granted him a great favor, would it not seem ridiculous?
As for whether to offend the Western Religion, he had never harbored any illusions about them.
He was already an enemy of the Western Religion, not a friend, and he had not yet avenged the Western Religion's repeated schemes against the Human Clan.
Moreover, if it truly came to the moment of a Sage's battle, could the two Sages of the Western Religion possibly not make a move?
To ensure the destruction of the Jie Religion, which had ten thousand immortals coming to court, the two Sages of the Western Religion would certainly act, and the Human Clan would also inevitably be the target of these Sages.
After all, if the Human Clan could not be weakened and the Human Emperor turned into the Son of Heaven, how could the Western Religion turn the Human Clan into a tool for planning Luck?
Therefore, no matter how he looked at it, he and the Western Religion were destined to be enemies. So why should he give Face to the two Sages of the Western Religion?
Others feared Sages, but as the contemporary Human Emperor of the Human Clan, he truly did not necessarily fear the two Sages of the Western Religion.
"Arrogant and conceited! Do You really think that as the Human Emperor, You can be truly fearless? You simply don't know the immensity of heaven and earth!" Sage Zhunti said angrily.
From ancient times until now, had any living being dared to speak to a Sage like this? Had any living being dared to ignore a Sage?
Never. Below Sages, all are ants—this saying was not just words, but the truth.
In the eyes of Sages, even the Human Emperor was still an ant, never on the same level as them.
What they feared was not the Human Emperor, but the Human Clan Luck, which was as brilliant as the great sun. They were unwilling to pay the price of being backlashed.
But they were not truly unable to act against the Human Emperor. It had happened once before, so what if it happened again?
It all depended on whether it was worth it. Clearly, the Six Paths of Reincarnation touched the very foundation of the Western Religion, something they could not possibly give up under any circumstances.
Even if they had to pay some price for it, compared to the Six Paths of Reincarnation, it was actually worth it.
As they spoke, both Sage Zhunti and Sage Jieyin began to emit terrifying auras.
When a Sage actively displayed their power, just their aura alone was enough to overturn heaven and earth and shake the cosmos.
At this moment, the living beings who had been paying attention to the Six Paths of Reincarnation all showed shocked expressions.
"King Zhou truly never stops. He has brought the Witch Clan into the Human Clan again. How could Jieyin and Zhunti not be enraged by this?
However, no matter the reason, King Zhou has offended Jieyin and Zhunti, and that is good news!" Celestial Worthy of the Primordial Beginning said with a smile
When the Heavenly Dao bestowed merits, he had a premonition, and seeing the Witch Clan join the Human Clan, he couldn't help but frown inwardly.
After all, watching the Great Shang's Luck continuously grow would undoubtedly increase the difficulty for their Chan Religion's Investiture of the Gods.
But seeing Sage Jieyin and Zhunti truly enraged, he felt a hint of schadenfreude in his heart.
After all, for their Chan Religion, King Zhou had unknowingly become a great enemy, and an extremely troublesome one at that.
Now, King Zhou's conflict with the two Sages of the Western Religion was naturally excellent news for their Chan Religion.
If the two Sages, Sage Jieyin and Zhunti, could make a move, or even kill King Zhou, he would naturally be delighted.
"It's King Zhou again? But then again, if he could be well-behaved, he wouldn't be King Zhou!" Nüwa thought to herself.
To cause such a stir, enraging even Sages, was already an earth-shattering event.
But upon seeing King Zhou, she felt it was only natural, for which of King Zhou's past actions wasn't earth-shattering?
However, upon seeing the two Sages, Sage Jieyin and Zhunti, her expression involuntarily darkened, and various emotions arose in her heart.
Someone had plotted against King Zhou, causing You to do such unbelievable things in the Nüwa Temple; she actually believed this already.
Calculating everything, there were only a few people who could and might have acted against King Zhou.
The two Sages, Sage Jieyin and Zhunti, were clearly the most likely, but because there was no concrete evidence, she didn't immediately act.
This time, since King Zhou had a conflict with the two Sages, Zhunti and Sage Jieyin, she could observe the situation.
On the other side, in the Heavenly Court, the Jade Emperor Haotian also saw what happened in the Six Paths of Reincarnation, and immediately danced with excitement.
"Hahahaha! Excellent! King Zhou is too arrogant; he actually dared to provoke a Sage, truly seeking his own death!" the Jade Emperor Haotian said excitedly.
He hated King Zhou so much that his teeth ached, yet he was helpless against You.
Now, seeing King Zhou dare to offend the two Sages, Sage Jieyin and Zhunti, he was naturally overjoyed.
He looked at the two Sages, Sage Jieyin and Zhunti, with anticipation, eager to see Sage Jieyin and Zhunti make a move.
If a Sage personally acted, even if King Zhou was the current Human Emperor of the Human Clan, and no matter how extraordinary You were, You would surely die.
If such a great enemy like King Zhou could be eliminated, the great prosperity of the Heavenly Court would be just around the corner, and he would wake up laughing from his dreams.
"Sage Jieyin, Zhunti, You truly don't learn from Your mistakes. Do You still want to fight me?"
Just then, an angry voice rang out, a sword ripped through the void, and a figure appeared in the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
Sage Tongtian Cult Master had arrived; he had already set off when the two Sages, Sage Jieyin and Zhunti, first released their auras.
Seeing Tongtian Cult Master, Sage Jieyin and Zhunti were slightly stunned, and after exchanging glances, they both frowned slightly.
They appeared this time for their Western Religion's scheme within the Six Paths of Reincarnation, so they had no choice but to show themselves.
It was only because of King Zhou's domineering nature that they had to display some means to make King Zhou retreat in the face of difficulty.
Heaven knows! Although they wanted to kill King Zhou, they truly didn't want to do anything to You; after all, they also didn't want to suffer the backlash of the Human Clan Luck.
Why did Tongtian Cult Master appear so murderous?
King Zhou was neither a Disciple of the Jie Religion nor a relative of Tongtian Cult Master; was You worth Tongtian Cult Master personally intervening?
The Jie Religion was only connected to the Great Shang's Luck; in the eyes of a Sage like Tongtian Cult Master, how could he care about King Zhou, this Human Emperor?
The two Sages, Sage Jieyin and Zhunti, suddenly recalled that when the Undying Volcano and the East Sea Eye were resolved, King Zhou was with Tongtian Cult Master.
Could it be that there was some unknown relationship between King Zhou and Tongtian Cult Master, which was why he appeared in the Six Paths of Reincarnation at this time?
No matter the reason, Tongtian Cult Master had already arrived, and the two Sages, Sage Jieyin and Zhunti, found this Sage extremely troublesome.
Especially Sage Zhunti, the last battle with Tongtian Cult Master was still vivid in his mind; he had suffered a great loss that time.
Now, with Tongtian Cult Master, this Sage, blocking them, even if they wanted to do anything to King Zhou, there would likely be no chance.
Because of Tongtian Cult Master's appearance, three Sages had now gathered in the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
The situation couldn't help but become tense, and no one knew in what direction things would develop.
Chapter 160: A Sage Battle About to Erupt?
Three Sages gathered in the Six Paths of Reincarnation, and they were even confronting each other; this was undoubtedly a dangerous signal.
Since ancient times, whether it was the war of the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin clans, or the Witch-Demon War, they were all earth-shattering, even shattering heaven and earth.
It's no exaggeration to say that if no one stopped them, these two wars would have been world-destroying, enough to destroy the entire heaven and earth.
But compared to a Sage battle, these two wars were nothing, and could even be said to be on completely different levels.
After all, whether it was the war of the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin clans, or the Witch-Demon War, the strongest combatants were only Quasi-Sages.
It was only because too many living beings participated that the destruction caused by these two wars to heaven and earth was so terrifying.
But in front of a Sage, no matter how many Quasi-Sages there were, they were actually just ants, not to mention other living beings.
Once Sages began to fight recklessly, destroying heaven and earth was just a thought away, and all living beings below the Sage level would turn to ashes.
The battle where Tongtian Cult Master pressured Mount Ling had already made countless living beings' hair stand on end, fortunately, no major battle ultimately erupted in heaven and earth.
Now, in the Six Paths of Reincarnation, it was again the two Sages of the Western Religion and Tongtian Cult Master, with three Sages in a standoff.
With new grudges added to old ones, it was hard to say whether the three Sages would become enraged and fight fiercely in the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
How important was the Six Paths of Reincarnation? Once a Sage battle erupted there, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Countless living beings uneasily focused their gaze on the Six Paths of Reincarnation; the three Sages were undoubtedly the focal point.
But no one could ignore King Zhou; in the eyes of many living beings, the standoff of the three Sages was absolutely related to King Zhou.
If King Zhou hadn't come to the Six Paths of Reincarnation and made the Witch Clan a part of the Human Clan, the two Sages of the Western Religion wouldn't have appeared in the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
As long as the two Sages of the Western Religion didn't appear, Tongtian Cult Master, this Sage, probably wouldn't have appeared either.
Looking at it this way, King Zhou was undoubtedly the culprit, making people curious about what King Zhou had done.
Simply making the Witch Clan a part of the Human Clan shouldn't have caused the two Sages of the Western Religion to go to such great lengths.
"Tongtian, the importance of the Six Paths of Reincarnation to my Western Religion needs no elaboration; do You truly want to fight us to the death?" Sage Jieyin said in a deep voice.
Tongtian Cult Master's appearance was indeed not within their expectations; it could be said to have disrupted their rhythm.
But just as he said, the Six Paths of Reincarnation was too important to their Western Religion, so important that they could never give it up.
Even if a major battle with Tongtian Cult Master erupted, they would not abandon their scheme in the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
Even if Tongtian Cult Master was one of the Three Pure Ones and held the Immortal Slaughtering Sword Formation, which only four Sages could break, their Western Religion also had two Sages.
Two against one, they might not be afraid of Tongtian Cult Master; who would win or lose in the end was still hard to say.
"Oh? After a few days, Your courage has grown quite a bit. Do You want to test if my Immortal Slaughtering Sword is still sharp?" Tongtian Cult Master said disdainfully.
He came here naturally for King Zhou; how could the person he valued be bullied by the two Sages of the Western Religion?
He didn't care what the reason was; if Sage Jieyin and Zhunti made a move, he would absolutely not stand idly by.
What if it was one against two? He, Tongtian Cult Master, had never been afraid of anyone, not even two Sages.
"Three Sages, calm Your anger. You, I, came here not to provoke conflict, but to solve problems!
The incompleteness of the Six Paths of Reincarnation is a great hidden danger for the entire heaven and earth, for all living beings!" King Zhou said.
He was naturally very grateful that Tongtian Cult Master could appear at this time, but he hadn't originally expected Tongtian Cult Master to act at this moment.
When he made the decision, he already knew that the two Sages of the Western Religion would definitely appear, but he still chose to do it.
This didn't mean he was confident enough to contend with two Sages, but rather confident in his ability to accomplish this matter.
It seemed like the same concept, but for him, these were two completely different things.
He wanted to succeed, and it didn't necessarily mean fighting the two Sages of the Western Religion, or rather, he hadn't prepared for the two Sages of the Western Religion to act.
The reason why the two Sages, Sage Jieyin and Zhunti, came to the Six Paths of Reincarnation was not because they were afraid he would disrupt the Western Religion's various schemes in the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
The Western Religion's Disciple, Ksitigarbha, had spent so many years converting vengeful spirits in the Six Paths of Reincarnation, and only then had he managed to gain control of the authority of the Underworld.
If Ksitigarbha continued to grow like this, he would probably be able to wield the greatest authority in the Underworld, becoming the highest-ranking existence in the Underworld.
In this way, the Western Religion, backed by the Six Paths of Reincarnation, would naturally be able to gather boundless Luck and merits, greatly increasing their hope of great prosperity.
But he didn't need to target Ksitigarbha at all, or even target the Western Religion's various arrangements in the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
This didn't mean he compromised, implicitly allowing the Western Religion to wield authority in the Six Paths of Reincarnation, but rather that he had a way to make the Western Religion retreat in the face of difficulty.
However, since Tongtian Cult Master had already appeared in the Six Paths of Reincarnation, it indeed gave him more confidence.
Give an inch and take a mile! He and the Western Religion had long since formed a grudge; this time, he could take the opportunity to recover some interest.
"King Zhou, there's no need to be eloquent here. Why don't You just state directly what You want to do!" Sage Zhunti said in a deep voice.
Given the things King Zhou had done in the past, it made their Western Religion extremely wary, otherwise, he and his Senior Brother wouldn't have personally appeared.
In fact, their Western Religion had been operating in the Six Paths of Reincarnation for many years; how could their various arrangements be so easily destroyed?
But it was this King Zhou who made them uneasy, fearing that the other party would do something unbelievable.
Just like Sage Celestial Worthy of the Primordial Beginning, who had long ago begun to scheme for the Investiture of the Gods, with his target directly pointing at the Jie Religion.
When had Celestial Worthy of the Primordial Beginning ever paid attention to the Great Shang and King Zhou? But what about now?
Facing the current Great Shang and King Zhou, Sage Celestial Worthy of the Primordial Beginning must already be having a headache
Even the heavenly secrets had changed, and the direction of the Investiture of the Gods had completely fallen into a fog, making it impossible for Sages to see the future.
They naturally did not want to be like Celestial Worthy of the Primordial Beginning, so when facing King Zhou, they could not be too careful.
"Why bother talking so much with them? Just go ahead and do it. If they dare to act, I will make sure they regret it!" The Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao said disdainfully.
He was still as strong as ever, not putting the two Sages of the Western Religion in his eyes at all.
But this was the Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao; in the eyes of any living being, this was the expected reaction from the Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao.
It was not that the Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao was truly so brainless; viewing a Sage with such an attitude was inherently a grave mistake.
Sages were Sages not only because of their own strength but also because they themselves had no flaws.
Whether it was strength, wisdom, or methods, they had reached the pinnacle of living beings.
But even Sages still had seven emotions and six desires, still possessing some characteristics of living beings.
The Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao was not unaware of what the wise course of action was; he simply disdained to consider such things.
"Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao, aren't you going too far? This matter involves a struggle for the Great Dao; there is absolutely no room for compromise!" Sage Jieyin said in a deep voice.
By this point, their Western Religion had no retreat; even facing the Immortal Slaughtering Sword Formation, they would not hesitate.
As they spoke, terrifying auras erupted from Sage Jieyin and Sage Zhunti, causing the Six Paths of Reincarnation to tremble continuously.
It was not just the Six Paths of Reincarnation; in the face of the Sages' terrifying power, even the entire world was shaking.
Countless living beings showed looks of horror. At this moment, they felt the wrath of the Sages, as if they were witnessing the arrival of the end of the world.
When a Sage was enraged, the world turned upside down! If a Sage wished, turning the entire world into ruins, or even recreating heaven and earth, was not a difficult task.
And now, the two Sages of the Western Religion emitting such terrifying auras already indicated their stance.
To preserve the hope of their Western Religion's prosperity, even if it meant overturning the table, they would not hesitate.
No one would doubt the Sages' resolve; in the eyes of countless living beings, the two Sages of the Western Religion would definitely make a move.
Unbeknownst to them, all living beings' gazes converged on King Zhou, hoping he would say something at this moment.
In the eyes of many living beings, King Zhou was the key; if King Zhou insisted on his own way, a terrifying war would likely break out very soon.
King Zhou was the Human Emperor. If heaven and earth were destroyed and the Human Clan no longer existed, did King Zhou not know the seriousness of the matter?
At this time, backing down and choosing to calm things down would be the wisest choice for the Human Clan and for all living beings.
"Two Sages, you have been mistaken about one thing all along: this is the Six Paths of Reincarnation, and it is not for you to decide!
Whatever you want to do, shouldn't you first ask the owner of this place if she agrees!" King Zhou said.
He did not doubt the resolve of the two Sages of the Western Religion, but to speak of destroying heaven and earth, that was naturally impossible.
Let alone whether Sage Jieyin and Sage Zhunti had the guts, just for the sake of the Western Religion's prosperity, these two Sages could not possibly do that.
Destroying heaven and earth, how great of a Karma was that? Could the two Sages of the Western Religion bear it?
If heaven and earth were recreated, could the Western Religion prosper again? Could Sage Jieyin and Sage Zhunti gather boundless merit again?
One must know that Sage Jieyin and Sage Zhunti still owed karmic merit to the Heavenly Dao; how could they destroy heaven and earth?
Furthermore, even if Sage Jieyin and Sage Zhunti really wanted to destroy heaven and earth, would the other Sages agree?
It was certain that if Sage Jieyin and Sage Zhunti truly dared to do so, their opponent would not just be the Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao alone.
Even if a great battle were to break out, Sage Jieyin and Sage Zhunti would at most only go to the Chaos outside heaven and earth to fight the Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao.
Moreover, he had already made it very clear: this was the Six Paths of Reincarnation, not the Western Religion's Spirit Mountain.
Whatever they wanted to do, they had to ask the owner's opinion, and the owner of the Six Paths of Reincarnation was undoubtedly Houtu Goddess.
Chapter 161: Zhuxian Four Swords!
The gazes of the three Sages all converged on King Zhou; their reactions to King Zhou's words just now were not the same.
The Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao was a little curious. Although he did not know much about the situation in the Six Paths of Reincarnation, he could not say he knew nothing at all.
He also did not know much about the former Ancestor Witch Houtu, only that she was a powerful being comparable to a Sage.
But since many years ago, Houtu Goddess herself had encountered problems, and this matter naturally could not be hidden from the Sages.
Otherwise, even if a Sage wanted to enter the Six Paths of Reincarnation, they would need to obtain the consent of Houtu Goddess.
But now, whether it was him, or Sage Jieyin and Sage Zhunti, they had all entered the Six Paths of Reincarnation openly and without hindrance.
As for Sage Jieyin and Sage Zhunti, their hearts sank, and they exchanged glances, countless thoughts instantly swirling in their minds.
The reason their Western Religion dared to plot for authority in the Six Paths of Reincarnation was precisely because Houtu Goddess herself had encountered problems.
If Houtu Goddess herself had not encountered problems, who would dare to have any ideas about the Six Paths of Reincarnation? Not even a Sage!
After all, the Six Paths of Reincarnation was formed by Houtu Goddess's own body, equivalent to a part of her.
It was no exaggeration to say that within the Six Paths of Reincarnation, Houtu Goddess was an invincible existence, capable of even suppressing Sages.
All of this was originally their scheme; with Houtu Goddess herself having problems, the authority of the Six Paths of Reincarnation was gradually being controlled by their Western Religion.
And now, King Zhou actually brought up Houtu Goddess, which inevitably made them somewhat surprised and uncertain.
How could they ask if the owner of this place agreed? Naturally, Houtu Goddess would have to awaken, but Houtu Goddess clearly had problems herself.
Could it be that King Zhou actually had a way to awaken Houtu Goddess?
This was what they were most worried about. If Houtu Goddess truly awakened, the Six Paths of Reincarnation would immediately undergo a complete change.
If someone else said this, they would not care at all; after all, their Western Religion had been plotting for countless years, so how could they not have some certainty?
But the one who said this was King Zhou, the King Zhou who resolved the Undying Volcano and the East Sea Eye, places that even Sages could not deal with.
Awakening Houtu Goddess, although this matter sounded somewhat incredible, if it was King Zhou, perhaps there was truly some possibility.
Thinking of this, Sage Jieyin and Sage Zhunti both became nervous; this was different from the Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao making a move.
Although they were wary of the Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao, if they truly had to fight him, they were not afraid.
Among Sages, there might be differences in strength, but there was no absolute superiority; it was actually not easy to determine a winner.
Even if the Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao made a move, it would still be almost impossible to destroy their Western Religion's scheme in the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
But if Houtu Goddess awakened, then it was truly possible that all of their Western Religion's schemes would come to naught.
"King Zhou, do you think mere words can make us retreat?" Sage Zhunti said with a gloomy expression.
As he spoke, a terrifying aura began to erupt completely; he was no longer prepared to waste time with King Zhou.
Delay would lead to changes. He was not sure whether King Zhou could truly do it, so he naturally had to strike first and not give King Zhou a chance to act.
In his hand, a seven-colored light flickered, and a precious tree appeared; it was the Supreme Grade Houtian Spiritual Treasure, Seven Treasure Tree.
It was said that Sage Zhunti's origin was the Western Geng Metal Bodhi, one of the ten Innate Spiritual Roots.
After Sage Zhunti achieved Dao, he combined his shed body with seven treasures such as gold, silver, and glazed glass to refine the supreme treasure, Seven Treasure Tree.
Because the Western Geng Metal Bodhi was originally an Innate object and the Sage's main body, the Seven Treasure Tree, although refined later, was still a Supreme Grade Houtian Spiritual Treasure.
This Innate Spiritual Treasure was extraordinary; among all Innate Spiritual Treasures, it definitely ranked among the top, known for being able to brush away anything.
The Seven Treasure Tree could be said to be Sage Zhunti's ultimate weapon. Taking out this supreme treasure, the Sage's attitude was already self-evident.
Seeing that Sage Zhunti even took out the Seven Treasure Tree, the Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao just smiled disdainfully, pointing his Green Lotus Sword at Sage Zhunti.
But at this moment, a golden lotus appeared beneath Sage Jieyin's feet; it was the Innate Spiritual Treasure, Twelve Grade Merit Golden Lotus.
The Twelve Grade Merit Golden Lotus was one of the four great Innate Lotus Platforms; not only was it infinitely powerful, but it also had infinite wondrous uses.
It was no exaggeration to say that the Twelve Grade Merit Golden Lotus was the Western Religion's number one supreme treasure, even above the Seven Treasure Tree.
Moreover, Sage Jieyin used this Innate Spiritual Treasure to suppress the Western Religion's Luck, which showed the extraordinary nature of this supreme treasure.
One must know that the Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao, as one of the Three Pure Ones and the leader of the Jie Sect, which had ten thousand immortals bowing to him, still did not have a supreme treasure that could suppress Luck.
Standing on the Twelve Grade Merit Golden Lotus, with Buddhist light shining behind him, evolving into the Land of Ultimate Bliss, Sage Jieyin blocked the Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao.
The posture of the two Sages of the Western Religion was already very clear: this meant they were prepared to make a move at the slightest disagreement.
Sage Jieyin would block the Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao, and then Sage Zhunti would act to suppress King Zhou as quickly as possible.
Sage Jieyin and the Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao were both Sages; even if there was a difference in strength, the gap would not be too large, so blocking the Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao was naturally not a big problem.
As for Sage Zhunti, merely suppressing King Zhou, there was basically no suspense, and it would not take much time.
King Zhou, as the Human Emperor, had the protection of Human Clan Luck, but this did not mean that King Zhou had the ability to contend with a Sage.
In the eyes of all living beings, King Zhou, in front of a Sage, was no different from other living beings; he was just an ant.
How long would it take for a Sage to suppress an ant? In just a single thought, King Zhou would be suppressed.
It was only because King Zhou was the Human Emperor that if a Sage suppressed him, they would suffer backlash from the Human Clan Luck, and thus inevitably pay some price.
Evidently, for the sake of the Western Religion's scheme in the Six Paths of Reincarnation, Sage Zhunti was now prepared to pay the price.
"Sage Jieyin, Sage Zhunti, it seems you have truly forgotten the power of my Immortal Slaughtering Sword Formation!" The Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao said angrily.
He had already personally come to the Six Paths of Reincarnation, and Sage Jieyin and Sage Zhunti were still preparing to continue making a move?
This was too disrespectful to him. Now they even wanted Sage Jieyin to block him and then attack King Zhou?
If he had personally come, and he couldn't even protect King Zhou, wouldn't he lose all face and become a laughingstock among Sages from then on?
