Ficool

Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 -Fate’s Game

Felix's POV

Felix tore through every wolf that crossed his path, his roar echoing across the battlefield.

— "That's it!"

Blood and adrenaline surged through his veins.

— "We're winning!"

With every fallen body, his thoughts grew louder.

If I defeat Boris—the bloodthirsty Alpha everyone fears—before I even become Alpha…

I'll become a legend.

He turned to his wolf, Silas.

Silas growled uneasily.

— "It was too easy."

Felix scoffed.

— "Don't let Nora cloud your thoughts. She wanted this war. Now she complains because it's easy."

The words startled him the moment they left his mouth.

They shocked Silas… and himself.

Nora.

His mate.

His lover.

The strongest warrior of the pack.

What was this strange feeling stirring inside him?

Admiration?

Being overshadowed?

Or pride quietly bleeding?

As he continued tearing through enemies, a sound split the battlefield.

Nora's retreat howl.

Felix frowned.

What does she want now?

— "What's happening, Nora?"

The answer came as a single word.

— "TRAP!"

Every instinct flared.

The word echoed through his mind.

Could she be wrong?

A brief hesitation…

Then he chose to trust his mate and his wolf.

Reluctantly, he gave the signal to retreat.

The way back was far worse.

Boris's true army was nothing like the wolves they had cut down earlier.

Felix took a wound to his arm.

— "Boris didn't even bother to fight," he growled to Silas.

— "He was that certain of victory."

Silas's voice was firm.

— "You owe Nora and Juno your life, Felix. We're escaping because of them."

Felix clenched his jaw.

— "Let's get out of here first… we'll deal with the rest later."

Regret and disappointment weighed down his voice.

After breaking free from Boris's pack, he spotted Nora for a brief moment.

Covered in blood…

Yet her brown fur still shone brilliantly.

I could recognize her among thousands.

Two guards followed her, carrying a small red she-wolf.

He couldn't make sense of it.

Soon, his thoughts shifted back to the cost of the battle.

When they reached their territory and saw no pursuit, he relaxed.

— "They must've suffered heavy losses," he said to Silas.

— "We didn't lose."

Silas didn't respond.

Every fallen pack member wounded the whole pack.

But the future Alpha would carry a different weight.

Felix shifted back into human form and dressed quickly.

He brushed off those trying to tend his wound.

When he went to inspect the defenses, he noticed Nora had already handled everything.

It should have pleased him.

Any Alpha would want a Luna like that.

But unease gnawed at him.

Then his gaze drifted to the girl lying on the stretcher.

Red hair. Pale skin.

She doesn't belong here, he thought.

Not even a warrior…

Heat flooded his body as he looked at her fragile, bare form.

The scent of the red she-wolf burned his senses.

Silas howled, hunger overtaking pain.

Felix whispered, stunned:

— "A… second mate?"
