Chapter 48 - Dimensional Demon God · The Third Beast

The cruelty of the Houkai Gakuen worldline far exceeds that of Honkai Impact 3rd.

Especially regarding Cocolia, this 'god-like' figure in charge of the Anti-Entropy Siberia Branch. Both versions run orphanages, but one does it out of the last shreds of conscience remaining in her heart, while the other treats it purely as a talent training base.

If one could say the original intention of Honkai Impact 3rd's Cocolia was good, but the execution merely went astray later, then the Cocolia of Houkai Gakuen needs to be taken out and shot—swept with a machine gun for at least ten minutes straight!

It was night, inside the manor residence.

Suke, having cut the nonsense and directly revealed his tyrannical combat power, ensured that the government troops under Anti-Entropy's jurisdiction dared not make another move. During this time, naturally, he had already met that female officer who called herself Cocolia—the one who, in the near future, would fail to be assassinated by Bronya and would then turn around and capture her into the orphanage.

Having dealt with people for so long, it was the first time Suke had seen an existence that displayed her desires so thoroughly. She didn't care in the slightest about the loss of her subordinates and directly issued an invitation to Suke on behalf of Anti-Entropy. Her eyes held only power and strength; even the disaster known as the 'Honkai' was merely something for her to exploit at will.

Not to mention how she would later gaslight a group of girls, inducing them to become expendable materials for the X-10 experiments.

"It's a pity that getting rid of her now wouldn't be of much use."

"It would be more practical to use [Brainwashing] on her to make her abandon evil and turn to good."

"The Houkai Gakuen 2 storyline doesn't have the two major variables of the Paramecium and Elysia, and the types and quantity of Herrschers have multiplied several times over."

"Moreover, I don't know if..."

Suke associated his thoughts with content related to the [Will of the Abyss] and the [Commander of Wills]. Nothing happened; his health bar didn't start dropping just by reciting these terms in his heart. Thinking about it, that makes sense; after all, the subconscious is uncontrollable. If those two were really going to manifest, they probably would have done so the moment he realized this was the Houkai Gakuen worldline.

[Great Witch: Animus, is the operation over there going smoothly? When can you come back?]

[Great Witch: It's really inconvenient not being able to use magic on the farm. Without Animus's care, I'm going to die of loneliness~...]

On the Farm Public Channel, Tsukishiro Yuki sent a message. Even though they had been separated for less than a day, this Great Witch, who would often zone out whenever he wasn't by her side, had already started rushing him.

But what could Suke do? Although he had confirmed that the Junimo was hidden inside this very manor he was in, a mysterious force seemed to have erased the traces of 'Starfruit' from the past and future of this residence. With the Magic · [Hallucination] ineffective, Suke could only look for a breakthrough via Sin Mal.

[Great Witch: By the way, Animus, Little Emma took me to gather blackberries in Cindersap Forest today, and I found something interesting.]

[Great Witch: [Image]]

In the public channel, a small golden scroll was presented before Suke's eyes. Its appearance was extremely similar to the scrolls in the Community Center's sacrifice menu from the game.

[Great Witch: Little Emma and I picked this up by the Wizard's Tower. It seems to have fallen out of the bookcase by the window inside the tower.]

[Great Witch: I tried taking it to my world and deciphering it with magic. This is the result.]

[Great Witch: [Image]]

Immediately after, Tsukishiro Yuki sent an image she had drawn by hand using magic. A tree hung with three branches, corresponding to three collection bundles, just like in the game.

[Lost Body Collection Bundle: □]

[Lost Soul Collection Bundle: □]

[Lost Thought Collection Bundle: □]

[Reward for Completing All Bundles: Statue of Yoba Upgrade]

There was only a single square box after each collection bundle, indicating that the sacrifice required only one corresponding item. However, unlike the bundles in the game, it didn't write what was needed—just a simple square box.

"What the hell is this?"

Suke stared at the image sent by Tsukishiro Yuki, feeling a sense of awe despite not understanding it. Perhaps coincidentally, he felt the [Statue of Yoba] placed in his backpack suddenly react.

[The Statue of Yoba is vibrating. It senses the aura of its own kind...]

A line of prompts suddenly popped out from the bottom left corner of the farm system.

What, is there an Albinauric nearby? But I haven't turned a god's body into a sword either, have I?

Looking at the Statue of Yoba glowing faintly in his hand, Suke remembered that this thing had sucked up a Demon God Pillar before. He wondered if Mr. Demon God Pillar was doing well inside. Since the Magic · [Hallucination] had failed, he might as well follow the guidance of the statue.

He chatted on the phone with Tsukishiro Yuki for a while longer, only temporarily ending the chat when Abigail started chiming in.

The time was approaching late night. For dinner, he had prepared Spicy Eel with Pumpkin Soup and Pancakes for Bronya and Sin. Both of them ate with great satisfaction. Especially Bronya; this little mercenary, accustomed to sleeping in the wind and dining on dew, was practically about to hug his thigh and beg to be kept as a sugar baby. But Suke only planned to stay for three days, so Duck-Duck would have to rely on her own luck.

Holding the statue in his hand, Suke walked onto the mansion corridor under its guidance. He went up the stairs to the second floor and soon arrived outside Sin's bedroom.

It was also at this moment, through the ajar door, that Suke heard a burst of conversation coming from inside:

[What is there to hesitate about? You pitiful, love-starved young girl, face your desires directly!]

[You like that little thing in your cabinet that looks like apple pudding, you like that man who barged into your life, and you like the maid that man brought with him!]

[Since you like them, accept my deal and claim them all for yourself!]

[Just like making specimens!]

[Let me do it for you...]

Bang!

"Uncle, is that you outside?"

Accompanied by the sound of a book snapping shut, that raspy voice, which sounded like it was laced with electric current, dispersed with a boom.

Sin Mal turned her head to look at Suke, who had not deliberately concealed his footsteps or presence outside the door.

"It's so late, Uncle. Do you need Sin for something?"

The pink-and-purple-haired girl turned back and smiled, her body shifting unnaturally as if trying to block the cabinet beside her.

[Starfruit, Jiu, Starfruit!]

However, right at this moment, a subtle noise came very inopportunely from the cabinet behind Sin. This made Sin's expression change abruptly.

"No."

Putting the Statue of Yoba back into his embrace, Suke walked up to Sin and extended his hand:

"Hand it over."

He looked at Sin Mal just like that, his gaze stern.

"Sin doesn't understand what Uncle means."

"Hehe, does Uncle even have to control Sin's soliloquies?"

Sin narrowed her eyes, the corners of her mouth curving into a dangerous arc. The young girl, who hadn't received love for too long, tried hard to make herself look terrifying. However, in Suke's eyes, her appearance was just like a kitten arching its back with its fur standing on end.

"Fine."

"Then I'll go tell Bronya to pack up. We're leaving immediately."

"This house was originally the inheritance left to you by your parents, right? Consider it returned to its original owner."

Suke turned around, making a gesture as if to leave.

Unlike other young girls, this girl named Sin Mal had become extremely paranoid after her parents were murdered. In the original plot, she could become obsessed with Bronya just because Bronya hopped once in front of her, so having some strange thoughts now was actually quite normal. But that didn't mean Suke would indulge her lies.

"No!"

"You are not allowed to go!"

As if hearing some taboo word, Sin's delicate body trembled. She grabbed Suke's coat hem forcefully:

"You came to the place where Sin lives, so you must become Sin's partners!"

"Otherwise I, otherwise I will..."

The girl stammered.

"Then hand over Unc—... hand over my partner."

"Since we are partners, why hide things from each other?"

"I..."

Sin clutched her dress hem, biting her lip, her expression struggling. But ultimately, facing this man whose soul contained no repulsive ugliness,

She still trembled as she took a key from her bosom and opened the door of the cabinet behind her.

"Starfruit! Starfruit!"

The yellow Junimo poked its head out of the small nest made of cotton wadding and jumped into Suke's palm with extreme delight.

The instant the Junimo jumped into Suke's palm, he felt a strange power bind 'Starfruit' to himself. This meant that as long as he used the Return Scepter now, his mission would be considered complete.

But of course, he wouldn't go back on his word. Simultaneously, there was one more thing Suke needed to confirm.

"And the other thing?"

"What...?"

"I heard the existence Sin was talking to just now very clearly."

The continuous vibration of the Statue of Yoba told Suke that Sin was still hiding some unknown secret. He crossed his arms like a teacher catching a student playing with a phone in class.

"...Here."

"But Sin doesn't know what this is. This thing appeared under Sin's pillow after Sin had a dream last night."

Compared to Starfruit, Sin didn't hesitate much to hand over that mysterious piece of paper. The book, in which the girl had clamped the paper like a bookmark, was opened. The Statue of Yoba reacted more and more intensely, and soon, a yellow piece of paper shaped like a pyramid appeared before Suke's eyes.

What in the world is this...

Suke carefully searched his memories regarding the Houkai Gakuen plot, but such a strange object didn't exist in his memory. It actually looked somewhat similar to a wall decal decoration he had fished out of the Secret Woods pond in Stardew Valley. That decal was currently pasted in his farmhouse's main residence.

He picked up the Statue of Yoba, wanting to test if there would be any reaction if the statue touched the paper.

But at that very moment, an eye appeared out of thin air on the paper, staring straight at Suke:

[How boring!]

[You're just a lower lifeform draped in skin and flesh with five senses; what gives you the right to be so sharp?]

[You ruined my deal, so you shall serve as the price!]

[Let me see what is hidden inside that body of yours which looks as ugly as garbled code!]

Caught off guard, Suke saw the triangular eye emit an evil light that shot straight at his face.

"!"

Although the Statue of Yoba in his hand burst forth with radiance that covered 99% of the evil light, the remaining 1% hit him. In just that split second, Suke saw his health bar drop by 90%!

Holy crap, what the hell is this thing!

Suke hurriedly utilized the mechanic where eating food pauses time to swallow two Pizzas, instantly refilling his health.

At the same time, the Statue of Yoba suddenly moved.

Invisible golden threads wrapped around the golden triangle, binding and dragging it, seemingly wanting to devour it just as it had absorbed the Demon God Pillar in the past.

[Damn it!]

[I was wondering where that stench came from; so you are HIS lackey! Let me go!]

[I will not return to be a part of HIM!]

[Bastard, you've pissed me off!]

Evidently, the Statue of Yoba's devouring process wasn't as smooth this time as it had been with the Demon God Pillar. The pyramid triangle suddenly turned from gold to red, and the golden threads wrapped around it snapped inch by inch. However, it still managed to tear off a portion of something that looked like paper scraps.

Daring not to stay, the piece of paper hurriedly flew out through the open window.

[Special Item: Dimension Demon God · Soul Fragment of the Third Beast]

[HIS goodwill towards the world became the Son of Man; HIS malice towards the world became the Beast of Seven.]

[Can be sacrificed to the Lost Soul Collection Bundle]

[We will meet again, bug. Wherever there are 'eyes', there will definitely be me!]

[I sensed where you came from, and I sensed the 'me' over there!]

[Just you wait, I will come to 'repay' you very soon!]

The paper flew out the window and vanished without a trace in the blink of an eye.

Third Beast?

Looking at the prompt that suddenly popped up on the farm panel, Suke, who vaguely found the corresponding image from his memories before his transmigration, slowly widened his eyes.

Is it it...?!
