Chapter 189 - Ch. 189: How to Deal With Uninvited Saiyans

Getting the other Saiyans to bring their spaceship along and follow him wasn't difficult for Tater. He had an overwhelming, near-absolute amount of raw power when compared to even the strongest of the gruff group of aliens. A simple, tiny flexure of strength, and they'd agreed to follow Tater's orders… until they had any other opportunity at all.

Which made what to actually do with them a difficult question.

Tater knew Saiyan temperament well. If he was willing to follow orders blindly without being forced, then he'd have stayed in Tarble's crew all those years ago. If you wanted to convince a Saiyan of anything, you needed raw, overwhelming force.

Their leader was temporarily dead, but the remaining Saiyans, aside from the two strange twins with the unusually high energy signatures, had little to no regard for 'inferior' life. To them, existence revolved entirely around survival of the fittest. Left alone, they'd run wild, and they wouldn't care about who they hurt or killed.

He didn't trust any of them as far as Bulma could throw them. They needed to be held somewhere. At least temporarily.

His own mansion was one of the better options, but it was out of the question. Since Cynder and Cynthia weren't fighters, and Mel was comparable to Cynder in raw power, introducing the location to a group of twenty Saiyans was far too dangerous.

Without Zeck, Capsule Corp faced the same issue. Which, realistically, only left three options.

Roshi knew how to fight Saiyans. With his skills, even with the power gap, a 1-vs-many battle between him and them would basically end up coming down to a battle between him, Mel, and maybe the strange twins. And he'd probably win it, in all honesty, even with the raw power gap, via sheer technical prowess.

But that'd be dangerous, and unfair to Roshi. Tater hated the idea of putting that kind of burden on the old master, especially with Kakarot having somehow vanished into oblivion.

Which made the last viable option the Celatus village. Unfortunately, they didn't have a 'jail' capable of holding people with raw power in the thousands or higher. At that point, materials capable of dealing with that kind of stress could be best utilized elsewhere.

Which meant that allowing the Saiyans near the island that the village resided on would be a risk that Tater, again, wasn't willing to take.

So, the large earth-Saiyan only had one realistic option, as far as holding the others while he gathered the Dragon Balls for the wish.

He stopped in a random small town and, amidst the screams of terrified townfolks claiming that a large group of aliens have come to feed their noses to their ship for fuel, borrowed a phone from a general store owner and made a phone call. Then, he made his way toward the eastern seas.

"...Alright, we followed you to this barren rock. Now, you talk. What's all this about bringing Vegeta back to life? You blew up his freaking head!" Nappa shouted at Tater as the other Saiyans put the house-sized spaceship down.

"He got caught up in my friend's fight. I was in that fight for thirty seconds and I broke my arm. That's his own fault…" Tater started without mercy, "However, there's something on this planet that, as far as I know, should be able to bring back the dead. We were going to use it to bring back my friend, who got killed during the battle, too."

"Reminder, it is untested." A figure interjected, dropping from the sky.

"Who the hell are you?" Nappa asked.

"How long?" Mel asked at the same time.

The figure cocked their head slightly, thinking before answering Mel, ignoring Nappa's question completely. "By the end of the day, likely. The attempt should turn the sky black…" Novem turned to Tater. "You can go. I will take it from here. I request you hurry, timespan may affect the individual's chance of full revival by 4.7%."

"Alright. I'll be going then, Novem." Tater had known Novem long enough to not bother with formalities with Novem. It considered being on the receiving end of that sort of thing to be a waste of time and energy. So, with everything in the android's capable hands, Tater flew off.

"Hey! Where do you think you're going?!" Nappa was boiling with rage at this point. Most of the Saiyans that they'd gathered were half-breeds, and the power levels varied highly, often surpassing his own. Despite that, in terms of influence over the group, he and Raditz, as the original members of the Prince's Squad, had a special advantage, despite their relatively low to average power levels. Second only to Mel.

That, unfortunately, was only because Vegeta gave them more trust than he gave the others.

Now, Vegeta was dead, and frankly, none of the Saiyans actually believed in the big Saiyan's nonsense about reviving the prince from the dead. They simply couldn't go against him, or Mel, who, just judging by the look in her eye, was clearly willing to do just about anything for even the most remote of chances at getting Vegeta back, so they followed along.

As such, Nappa, while the angriest by far at the dismissive way Tater treated them, wasn't the only one who blew his top and tried to fly after the big Saiyan.

"You are not allowed to leave this island at present." Novem's voice cut through the air, cold and indifferent.

A moment later, Nappa felt something deeply uncomfortable in a way that his vocabulary was not extensive enough to even attempt to describe, coming from deep in his bones. The four other Saiyans who'd blasted off felt it, too, their bodies covered in a wreath of shimmering blue light that originated directly from Novem's ocular circuits.

Ignoring it, Nappa and one other managed to break free from the light for a moment. Then, it came back… a thousand times worse.

As soon as the ki field retrapped the burly Saiyan general and his crewmates, they immediately lost control of their entire bodies and plummeted into the ocean like four giant stones.

A few seconds later, the blue light dragged them back onto the rocky shore, spluttering and grimacing, soaked to the bone and covered in small cuts and bruises from their unenhanced bodies being dragged mercilessly through the sharp rocks that surrounded the island underwater.

"What was that?" One of the twins asked, as Noven turned away from the half-drowned, still mostly-paralyzed Saiyans still spluttering on the beach.

"Four biological signatures recorded." After that, Novem's body suddenly flickered out of view for a moment, before reappearing behind the group. Every single Saiyan still standing instantly grabbed their chests, having felt, just for a single moment, the slight ghost of a touch. "All biological signatures recorded. Now, I can neutralize any of you instantaneously within a thirty kilometer radius."

The group all shivered at that, suddenly looking at this little 'child-like' thing in an entirely new light.
