"So this place is… where that thing they call the Ambrosial Arbor is?" Firefly looked up at the towering tree that pierced the sky, feeling the overwhelming vitality pouring out of it. She had more than enough reason to believe this was where the Ambrosial Arbor stood.
"Why are we here?"
"Aren't we here to watch the show?" Firefly asked, puzzled, glancing at Clara, who seemed to be searching for something nearby.
"Don't rush~ Since you're my wife and all, why don't you guess what I'm planning?"
Clara giggled, clearly intending to make Firefly figure it out herself, and maybe test how in sync the two of them really were.
Come to think of it… did those compatibility tests in short videos actually work?
That thought made Clara remember all those silly games and quizzes online that claimed to measure how well couples understood each other.
"Mm, once this is over, I'll play one of those with Firefly."
If it turned out their compatibility score was somehow a fail, then whoever made that test better watch out. Clara would crawl through the internet cable just to give them a beating.
Hmph. Her compatibility with Firefly was a hundred percent. Dare say otherwise and you deserve it.
"Hmm…" Firefly had no idea what was going on in Clara's head. She lowered her gaze, thinking seriously.
Her mind replayed the conversation she had overheard earlier with Jing Yuan and the others, and she began to form a guess about Clara's goal.
After a moment, Firefly looked up and said, "Clara… you're here to find Phantylia, aren't you?"
"Wow, wow, wow. As expected of my wife, right on the mark." Hearing that, Clara smiled brightly and clapped her hands.
See? I told you. My wife and I are totally in sync.
Honestly, this had nothing to do with being in sync. Anyone with half a brain could guess why Clara had come here.
Clara suddenly pulled Firefly into her arms and gave her a light kiss on the lips, breaking away in less than a second.
"That's your reward~"
She chuckled to herself.
"Not enough." Firefly blinked at her, the lingering warmth still on her lips, clearly hinting that she wanted another one.
"Mm-hm." Clara pretended not to notice at all.
Instead, she raised her voice and called out to the surroundings. "So? You still not coming out?"
"I came here to talk cooperation, you know. Leaving your partner hanging like this doesn't feel very polite."
"…."
After Clara spoke, there was still no response. The air remained calm and silent.
"Mm-hm~" Clara wasn't in a hurry. She hummed to herself and waited patiently for Phantylia to answer.
"Cooperation? Interesting."
Sure enough, before long, a voice echoed through the air.
A golden flame appeared before the two of them.
Well… calling it a flame wasn't quite right. More accurately, it was a heliobus.
"Little one, do you even know who I am, daring to talk about cooperation with me?" Perhaps because of Clara's harmless appearance, or perhaps because of her own twisted aesthetic of destruction, Phantylia did not attack right away.
"Of course I do. You're Phantylia, one of the Lord Ravagers." Clara answered honestly.
"And that's exactly why I came to work with you~"
"Interesting~ What's this cooperation about?"
Knowing who she was and still standing there calmly, Clara struck Phantylia as genuinely intriguing.
"You were drawn here by the aura of the Stellaron too, weren't you?" Clara did not rush to explain further. T/N: ):
"Coincidentally, so was I."
"Oh?" That caught Phantylia off guard.
A Stellaron was something everyone cursed at and avoided on sight. Why would someone actively approach it?
"Curious, right?" Clara smiled faintly, seeing through Phantylia's thoughts.
"The Stellaron itself doesn't interest me. What caught my attention was the intent behind it."
As she said this, Clara ground her teeth slightly, her irritation obvious.
"I'm an Emanator of Remembrance, after all. I'm not about to swallow that level of mockery."
"I want the one who released that Stellaron aura to pay a very painful price."
"Hah…" After saying that, Clara realized she had gotten a bit carried away and took a breath, calming herself down.
Then she continued, "That's why I'm here."
"I see." Phantylia showed no doubt after hearing her explanation.
She did not believe an Emanator would bother lying about something like this.
"Then have you found that person?" Phantylia asked. Even for her, the earlier provocation had left her in a foul mood.
One of her reasons for coming to the Xianzhou was to wipe that person out.
Yet after all this time, she had not found a single trace of them.
"No." Clara shook her head.
"I searched the Luofu for a long time and found nothing."
"But one thing I'm sure of is that they never left the Luofu."
"So I'm planning to use the most primitive method possible to give them a little lesson." A sinister smile slowly crept onto Clara's face.
"Oh? And what do you mean by that?" Phantylia was no fool. By now, she could already guess what Clara was getting at.
"I want to…"
"…destroy the Xianzhou Luofu!"
