"I mean, I just saw you two when you came back earlier, over by the couch."
"Firefly kept staring at Clara, with this weird, unreadable look in her eyes."
"So I got curious... felt like there was something going on between you two…"
Silver Wolf just laid it all out. Whether she'd been eavesdropping or not, the fact remained that she'd interrupted their... moment.
Even if Clara and Firefly believed she hadn't been listening, just the act of disturbing them was enough to earn her a serious beating from both of them...
So, Silver Wolf decided to just 'generously' own up to it.
"So... that's why you came to listen at my door?"
"Yep." Silver Wolf nodded, not hiding a thing.
"I didn't plan on eavesdropping, honestly."
"But I was tired after gaming and came out for some water."
"That's when I saw Firefly, holding a pillow, knocking on your door."
"After knocking for a bit, she even used a key, opened your door, and went inside."
"Oh, and she locked it from the inside, by the way."
Silver Wolf gave her full account, probably hoping for some leniency from the two...
As she spoke, she waved a hand dismissively, a look of utter resignation on her face, as if she'd already made peace with her fate.
"Come on, think about it. Late at night, a cute girl in pajamas, carrying a pillow, walks into someone else's room... and she even has a key."
"Anyone would think you two are involved, right?"
Silver Wolf looked straight at Clara and Firefly, her expression practically saying, 'Hey, there are other people living here. We know you're dating, could you maybe tone it down a little?'
It's kind of hard on us single folks, you know.
"Uh..." Hearing Silver Wolf's words, the dark aura around Firefly instantly vanished, replaced by a blush spreading across her cheeks.
Back then, she'd just been desperate to hold the sweet, soft Clara in her arms and sleep. She hadn't thought about any of this.
She'd completely forgotten about everyone else in the house...
"So, how far have you two gone?" Seeing that Firefly seemed to be returning to normal, Silver Wolf inwardly let out a sigh of relief.
At least... at least she probably wouldn't end up half-dead now...
Firefly: ...
At that question, Firefly's face froze. The next second, the room was filled with the thick, palpable resentment radiating from her.
Silver Wolf: Oh crap.
Damn it, I popped the champagne too early...
Feeling the chilling aura from Firefly, Silver Wolf hid fearfully behind Kafka.
Watching Firefly's resentment grow stronger by the second, Silver Wolf forced herself to speak up:
"Um... Firefly?"
"How about... you two go back to your room and continue now?"
"This time, I promise I won't disturb you."
"I'll... I'll guard the door for you, how's that?"
"I'll wear earplugs! I swear I won't hear a single sound coming from inside the room!"
Afraid Firefly might think she still wanted to eavesdrop, Silver Wolf quickly added that last part.
"Heh." Firefly let out a cold laugh.
You just had to bring it up. Now, remembering that scene again, Firefly was hit with a wave of massive regret.
If it weren't for that dog Silver Wolf...
But Firefly wasn't disheartened. In her eyes, where there was a first time, there would definitely be a second. And a second would lead to a third, and a third would lead to an infinite number of times afterward!
So, one time equaled countless times.
But the expression Clara had back then, really...
Whenever she remembered Clara's face, a wave of heat rushed through Firefly's heart. She desperately wanted to go back to the room right now, push Clara down, and do things children shouldn't know about.
"Let's just leave it at that," Clara spoke up, observing Firefly and Silver Wolf. She didn't want this incident to affect the relationship between the two, so she intervened.
Though, to be honest, this probably wouldn't affect their relationship at all...
But if this continued, Silver Wolf was about eighty percent likely to get a serious beating from Firefly.
Silver Wolf had done her a big favor; she couldn't just stand by and watch...
"Ah, right, right, it's really late now. I should go back to my room and rest," Silver Wolf chimed in immediately, nodding like a frantic chick.
"Fine..." Since Clara had spoken, Firefly didn't dwell on it further and nodded.
Of course, this "not dwelling on it" was only on the surface. What Firefly was really thinking inside, only she herself knew.
"Then I'll be off." Seeing her chance, Silver Wolf turned and sprinted away.
"I'll head to my room too, then." Kafka, seeing the situation resolved, didn't say anything more and turned to walk toward her own room.
"Mm." Clara nodded, then turned to Firefly and asked, "Are you going back to your room, or..."
"I'm sleeping with you!" Firefly blurted out without a hint of pretense, walking straight into Clara's room.
"Alright." Clara didn't object. After Firefly entered, she followed and closed the door behind them.
But just as Clara was about to shut the door completely, Silver Wolf suddenly popped her head back out and asked:
"By the way, you two are in a relationship now, right?"
"Uh..." At that question, Clara's hand twitched, and she froze for a moment.
After thinking for a bit, she replied:
"I guess... not really..."
She and Firefly didn't really seem to be in a defined relationship... Even though they'd done everything except the final step, neither of them had actually confessed or made it official...
So, rather than lovers, were they more like extremely close best friends?
Silver Wolf: ?
Hearing Clara's answer, Silver Wolf instantly made a strange, incredulous face.
"Then aren't you two just..."
