Chapter 360 - Chapter 360 Burial Ground of Gods, Guardians

One week later.

At the edge of the Great Thousand World, shrouded in mist, surrounded by treacherous mountains.

Fang Xian, aboard a dragon-flying spaceship, slowly docked in front of an inconspicuous cave.

Lucifer confirmed repeatedly, then said with delight:

"This is it."

"Good."

Fang Xian looked around. This place was extremely remote, filled with a mind-altering mist, utterly eerie.

If he and Lucifer hadn't been immune, they would surely have been trapped within it.

This was why many powerful figures in the Great Thousand World hadn't discovered this place.

Firstly, its remoteness; secondly, the danger of the mist.

Many top-tier powerhouses, considering the greater good, were unwilling to risk their lives.

Only a fanatical individual like Lucifer, pursuing ultimate power, would be willing to take such risks.

Therefore, some opportunities are reserved for powerful individuals in dire straits.

"Let's go in."

Fang Xian and Lucifer flew out of the warship and slowly entered the cave.

The fog inside the cave grew thicker and denser.

Most people who entered would likely be trapped there forever.

They emerged from the cave, and their vision suddenly opened up.

Before their eyes came a temple exuding a chilling aura—the Burial Mound of Gods.

The Burial Mound of Gods was constructed of massive black stones, with a faint, eerie green light emanating from the cracks.

The towering spires were sharp and imposing.

Lucifer quickly found the entrance and led Fang Xian inside.

Stepping into the Burial Mound of Gods, a musty, stale smell assaulted their nostrils.

In the dim light, strange symbols and distorted human figures were faintly visible carved into the walls.

In the center of the hall, a massive black altar emitted a cold, eerie glow, surrounded by flickering, unsettling light.

The spacious hall contained four enormous entrances.

The four characters "East," "South," "West," and "North" were carved on them respectively.

A biting wind constantly blew from each of the four entrances, carrying with it faint wails and whispers, as if some resentment was telling a story.

"Husband, the western entrance is the temple that bestowed upon me the twelve-winged angels."

Lucifer looked at the western gate and continued explaining.

"Inside, there are many temples of different races."

"Alright, let's look at the twelve-winged angel temple first."

Fang Xian decided to choose the relatively more welcoming temple first to inquire about its details.

They walked straight into the western temple entrance, and immediately felt an even stronger and more eerie atmosphere.

Before them, the passageway was winding and twisting, with many temples of different styles, yet all equally chilling, situated on both sides.

Some temples emitted a cold, eerie light, and looking inside, they saw shadowy creatures, like vines, slowly writhing on the walls.

Some were shrouded in black mist, from which came low murmurs and sharp screechs.

Other temples had their doors tightly shut, the doors adorned with enormous, gleaming eye-shaped gems that spun rapidly.

There were also birds with eerie red eyes, incessantly pecking at the ground.

These strange creatures were bizarre and varied, but none of them aroused Fang Xian's interest.

He and Lucifer went directly to the Temple of the Angels, where there was only one statue.

She was tall and slender, her toes lightly touching an exquisitely carved pedestal.

Her face was exquisite, her eyes tightly closed, and a cold glint in her slightly upturned lips.

Her twelve wings were fully unfurled behind her, faintly emitting an eerie purple-black light.

Before Lucifer could speak, the statue spoke first.

"It's you again? Aren't you afraid of death?"

Lucifer bowed, her voice soft.

"Senior, I'm sorry to bother you again."

"I can't help you with anything. Please leave quickly. If you disturb the guardian, you'll die a horrible death."

"Thank you for the reminder, senior. The main reason I've come is that my husband wants to pay you a visit."

The statue was silent for a moment, then its voice held a hint of surprise.

"A human, and he's your husband?"

Lucifer nodded, her beautiful face filled with pride.

"Yes, senior, he is my husband."

Fang Xian cupped his hands in greeting and introduced himself with a smile.

"Yes, senior, I am Lucifer's husband, named Fang Xian."

"Interesting. You're clearly human, yet you possess the power of a twelve-winged fallen angel. It seems Lucifer is truly in love with you."

The statue's meaning is simple: Lucifer needs to expend a vast amount of "essence blood" to pass on his "twelve-winged fallen angel" power to Fang Xian.

Judging from the "twelve-winged fallen angel" power sensed in Fang Xian, Lucifer's consumption of "essence blood" has likely reached the point of self-destruction.

That's why the statue uttered the word "true love." What she really wanted to say was: What an incurable love-struck fool.

Little did she know, Fang Xian only needed a single drop of "essence blood" to possess millions of drops; he didn't need to harm Lucifer in the slightest.

Fang Xian, naturally, didn't bother explaining this and went straight to the point.

"Senior, if I may be so bold as to ask, what exactly is this place for? Why are you imprisoned here?"

"Heh, kid, I think you'd be better off leaving now than asking questions you can't even answer, lest you die without even knowing how."

Fang Xian realized that the guardian of Burial Ground was incredibly powerful, so powerful that even the statue that granted Lucifer the twelve wings of a fallen angel was wary.

Of course, it was also possible that the statue was just speculating that Fang Xian and Lucifer couldn't handle the guardian.

In that case, it was better to demonstrate its strength first; perhaps it could glean more information.

"Senior, thank you for your concern. Perhaps I should ask another question. Where is the guardian?"

"You don't need to worry about where it is. You just need to leave as soon as possible."

"That won't do. I want to see the guardian you mentioned, and also see how resilient it is."

The statue remained silent for a full 30 seconds before speaking in a deep voice.

"Foolish human, you think possessing a 'Twelve-Winged Fallen Angel' makes you powerful? You've become arrogant?"

"Let me tell you, the power here is far beyond your imagination, not something a mere human like you can handle."

"I advise you to die if you want to die, don't drag Lucifer down with you."

Fang Xian's eyes were full of confidence, a slight smile playing on his lips.

"Since Senior is unwilling to speak, then I'll go and cut off its head to reassure you."

"Truly a hopeless human, you are incredibly arrogant and conceited, you..."

Before the statue could finish speaking, everyone felt a powerful force rapidly approaching.

"Oh no! The Guardians are here!"

The statue was terrified and hurriedly urged,

"Lucifer, get out of here! Don't pay any attention to your idiot!"

But Lucifer not only didn't appreciate it, but also seemed displeased with the statue's words.

"Senior, you can say whatever you want about me, but please don't use bad words to describe my husband."

"Also, I believe in my husband; he is the strongest."

The statue was astonished; she never expected things to develop this way.

She didn't think she was wrong; the Guardians were definitely not someone Fang Xian and Lucifer could fight.

Only death awaited them; there was no chance of survival.

Absolutely.
