It may look like a mass-produced item, but it truly holds limitless potential.

Sitting cross-legged on his bed, Kurosaki Rei withdrew his gaze from the Asauchi's information panel.

Checking item details was one of the basic contract abilities granted by Terminal Space.

According to the contract, once he passed the Trial World and became a formal Explorer, he would also gain access to a storage space. At that point, managing items would be far more convenient.

He had arrived at Seireitei at night. With Unohana's recommendation, he had been accepted as a provisional transfer student at the Shin'ō Academy.

Provisional—because he wasn't technically a full student yet.

It wasn't currently the academy's official enrollment period. Out of respect for Unohana, the academy allowed him to "transfer in," on the condition that he pass the entrance examination.

He had missed the normal admission season, so the academy would arrange a separate, simplified test for him—essentially just completing the formalities.

Clearly, Unohana didn't think the entrance exam would pose any difficulty. Judging from the attitude of the instructor who handled his dorm registration, Kurosaki Rei was already being treated as a proper student.

Kurosaki Rei himself, however, wasn't entirely confident.

Although he had read part of Bleach, he had no idea what the Shin'ō Academy's entrance exam actually tested.

If it included Kidō or other things he knew nothing about, that would be genuinely troublesome.

"Room 406…"

Murmuring his dorm number, Kurosaki Rei looked up to confirm the room, then knocked on the door.

The academy's accommodations were quite decent—two students per room. According to the dorm supervisor, his roommate was a very good person.

Excellent grades, gentle temperament. If Kurosaki Rei didn't understand something later, he could always ask him.

After about ten seconds, the door opened.

Standing there was a young man with short brown hair and warm brown eyes.

Behind black-framed glasses were eyes as gentle as sunlight, paired with a faint, friendly smile—like a kind, big-hearted senior.

Oh, hell no.

That was Kurosaki Rei's first thought.

As he observed his roommate—his appearance, demeanor, and the sense of danger picked up by his "stronger-than-thou radar"—a possibility surfaced in his mind.

This roommate of his seemed to be a certain dangerous individual from the original story…

Aizen Sōsuke.

"Hello," the brown-haired young man said warmly. "Is there something you need?"

Kurosaki Rei snapped back to reality. "Hi, I'm Kurosaki Rei. I'm a new transfer student—this is my assigned dorm."

"I see."

The young man smiled and introduced himself. "Aizen Sōsuke. Welcome."

He ushered Kurosaki Rei inside and even enthusiastically helped him make his bed.

As they talked, Kurosaki Rei became completely certain of his roommate's identity.

This seemingly harmless, gentle big brother was none other than the future hair-gel god, king of smug monologues—the man who somehow managed to look more stylish than anyone else even while bound in restraints.

That said, interacting with this version of Aizen was genuinely pleasant.

At this stage, Aizen presented himself as the perfect roommate—gentle, humble, and considerate.

He not only helped Kurosaki Rei get settled, but also introduced the dorm facilities and answered many of his questions about the Shin'ō Academy, without the slightest hint of impatience.

No wonder the dorm supervisor called him a "good kid." Everyone liked dealing with him.

"By the way," Kurosaki Rei asked as he sat on his freshly made bed, "what year are you in, Aizen-senpai?"

Since he was already here, he might as well relax. No matter how dangerous Aizen would become in the future, he probably wouldn't do anything outrageous right now—especially not within the academy.

Besides, Kurosaki Rei felt that the younger Aizen's ambitions weren't quite so unhinged yet. For now, it was mostly his hobby of pretending to be weak.

"Just call me Sōsuke," Aizen replied, handing Kurosaki Rei a cup of freshly brewed black tea. "I'm not a senpai either. Like you, I only enrolled this year."

Kurosaki Rei blinked. "That explains why we're roommates."

He politely accepted the tea—and discreetly used Terminal Space's appraisal function on it.

After confirming it wasn't some kind of sleep-inducing black tea, he took a sip.

Earlier, Aizen had spoken so knowledgeably about the academy that Kurosaki Rei had assumed he was a seasoned veteran. Who would have thought he was just a first-year too—only a few months ahead?

They chatted for a while longer before lights-out.

Kurosaki Rei noticed that after the lights were turned off, Aizen didn't go to sleep. Instead, he sat cross-legged on his bed, Zanpakutō resting across his knees, seemingly sensing or cultivating something.

Kurosaki Rei guessed this was one of the standard Shinigami training methods.

No wonder Aizen was so strong—his talent was absurd to begin with, and on top of that, he was ridiculously hardworking.

Sensing Kurosaki Rei's gaze, Aizen opened his eyes and smiled apologetically. "If I'm disturbing your rest, I can move to the balcony."

Kurosaki Rei shook his head with a grin. "It's fine. We might end up training together in the future anyway."

With that, he turned over and closed his eyes, pretending to fall asleep.

He had safely arrived at the Shin'ō Academy. As long as nothing went wrong with tomorrow's entrance test, the first stage of his main quest would be complete.

For now, this place was safe.

He needed to sort through the information he had.

As he thought, Kurosaki Rei opened Terminal Space's system menu in his mind. During the day, he hadn't had time to explore it properly.

Beyond attributes, he discovered additional tabs: Bloodline, Cultivation Methods, Skills, and Specializations.

The Cultivation Methods tab was empty. In his era, those legendary techniques with mystical effects had long since vanished. All he knew were combat forms and techniques.

Some special moves were categorized as Skills by Terminal Space. He had learned a wide assortment—both practical and flashy—but those details could wait.

The Bloodline tab was also empty. He had never used any of the company's "technological enhancements." He was a pure, unmodified human.

The most interesting tab was Talents.

Only now did he finally understand why he was born with such monstrous strength.

[Talent: Limiter · Initial Release]

Talent Rank: S (E− ~ SSS+)

Talent Description:

Your human limiter has been partially released. You possess extremely high growth potential and can break through the original limits of the human body through training, gaining overwhelming power.

Talent Skill · Limit Release (Passive):

All training or cultivation that improves the Explorer's attributes gains +1000% effectiveness.

Talent Evaluation:

"Oh my… you're not going to go bald someday, are you?"

Kurosaki Rei stared at Terminal Space's evaluation, utterly speechless.

He had no idea what the limiter had to do with baldness.

The next day.

Clear water trickled through bamboo. Jade-green stalks struck stone, chiming softly.

Sunlight filtered through paper-paneled windows, falling across Kurosaki Rei's face as his eyes fixed on the stone platform before him.

Inside the training hall stood many young students in white dōgi, all curiously watching Kurosaki Rei.

Yes—he was currently taking the entrance examination.

Although Aizen had told him the Shin'ō Academy's entrance test was simple, Kurosaki Rei hadn't expected it to be this casual.

He had half-expected to be taken into some secret room for a private evaluation. Turns out he had overthought things.

According to Instructor Fujimoto, who oversaw swordsmanship training, Kurosaki Rei only needed to complete two tests.

And if he passed the first—Spiritual Pressure (Reiryoku) Evaluation—he would officially become a Shin'ō Academy student.

The pass line was astonishingly low.

All he needed to do was trigger resonance with the testing device—proof that he possessed talent in spiritual pressure cultivation.

Thinking about it, that made sense.

In this world, even ordinary members of the Gotei Thirteen only possessed around 20 levels of Spiritual Pressure.

Which meant that academy graduates generally averaged about that level.

Naturally, the academy couldn't require new students to already possess 20—or higher—levels of spiritual pressure just to enroll. Otherwise, the Gotei Thirteen would never recruit enough people.

Under the curious gazes of the students—including Aizen's mildly interested look—Kurosaki Rei stepped forward and placed his hand on the strange stone platform.

This device, said to be developed by the current Twelfth Division Captain, Kirio Hikifune, could precisely measure one's spiritual pressure.

For the purpose of assessing new students, ten subdivisions had been added below the original 20-level scale.

As long as one reached Level 3, they met the enrollment standard.

Kurosaki Rei fixed his gaze on the display atop the stone platform.

He was genuinely curious.

Just how many levels of spiritual pressure do I have?
