Chapter 69 Welcome to the game world, Dratini!
Bai Yu entered the game world.
Without much thought, he placed the Great Ball on the bed and reached out to touch the contact button in the center of the Great Ball.
As a flash of white and blue light passed by, Dratini's figure lay on the bed.
"Grunt~"
Dratini opened its eyes with difficulty, its voice very weak.
Its condition was more difficult to deal with than expected, but Bai Yu didn't think much of it and took out a Vitality Cube, holding it to Dratini's mouth.
"Eat this, and you'll recover," Bai Yu said softly.
In the game world, when a Pokémon dies, it dies in reality as well.
According to the game's health, Dratini had at most one drop of health, which kept it alive for a while.
"Grunt~"
Dratini opened its mouth slightly, and a small Vitality Cube was placed in its mouth.
The Vitality Cube quickly turned into streams of green light, seeping into Dratini's body and continuously repairing its injuries. Dratini seemed to have used its last bit of strength and slowly fell asleep.
"After completing the first playthrough, the system only rewarded me with one Vitality Block." Bai Yu didn't feel any heartache. Being able to save a Pokémon, even the most common one, wouldn't make him feel bad.
Of course, that was assuming the Pokémon was his own.
If the Pokémon healed belonged to someone else, or even a rival, Bai Yu wouldn't have that kind of saintly heart.
"Chirp~"
The Vitality Block's effect was quite outstanding, unlike the instant revival in the game.
It also completely healed all of Dratini's injuries. Dratini fidgeted with its body, opened its eyes wide, and tilted its head to look at Bai Yu.
Dratini is a rather sensitive Pokémon, aware of everything that was happening outside.
Its gaze remained fixed on Bai Yu, lost in thought...
Bai Yu squatted down and reached out to stroke Dratini's little head. Dratini didn't resist, just quietly watching Bai Yu.
Among the many pseudo-legendary Pokémon, Dratini has a relatively good temperament and doesn't require much resource to train. However, it takes longer than most Pokémon to evolve into Dragonite.
This is a common trait among pseudo-legendary Pokémon in almost every region; they are often called late bloomers, requiring a long period of accumulation to reach their full potential.
"From today onwards, we are partners."
"Welcome to the team, Dratini."
Bai Yu looked into Dratini's eyes and spoke his thoughts.
"Hoo~"
Dratini's eyes narrowed slightly, revealing a smile. It gently touched the Great Ball with its tail and entered the Great Ball, signifying its acceptance of Bai Yu.
"Time to go out. I wonder how long Sabrina has been waiting."
Bai Yu reached out and picked up Dratini from the bed, its stats appearing in his mind.
Pokémon: Dratini
Type: Dragon
Ability: Shed Skin
Level: lv15
Moves: Tornado, Leer, Thunder Wave, Dragon Tail, Dragon Breath (Inherited Moves)
Description: It appears to be a hunted Pokémon. The person who hunted it was wearing black clothes with the letter R written on their back.
Compared to the information in the Pokédex, the system's answer was quite accurate.
Just as Bai Yu had expected, the Dratini in front of him was a captured Pokémon.
The stall owner didn't seem to be from Team Rocket.
He was just a passerby who happened to see the Poké Ball and bought it to sell.
"What a coincidence~ My first Dragon-type Pokémon," Bai Yu said softly, picking up the Great Ball. The Great
Ball in his hand shook slightly, acknowledging Bai Yu's statement.
Bai Yu exited the game world.
He headed towards the Macha Gym with a breakfast in hand.
A sign next to the Macha Gym read, "The Gym Leader has left the Gym for personal reasons. If you wish to challenge a Gym, you can choose the Fuchsia Gym."
This was naturally done by Sabrina.
The receptionist and the referee stayed inside the Gym to guard it.
Sabrina paid for their wages anyway
, so they didn't object and readily accepted.
"Your breakfast..."
Bai Yu handed the breakfast to Sabrina. Sabrina looked at Bai Yu with a hint of suspicion. Having lived with Bai Yu for quite some time, this was the first time he'd gotten up so early to buy breakfast.
Normally, Bai Yu ate lunch for breakfast, but recently there had been many more challengers in the mornings.
Bai Yu was also waking up earlier than usual.
"Since you brought breakfast, I won't scold you,"
Sabrina said, looking at the breakfast in her hand with a soft snort. That's more like it… it
wasn't for nothing that I got up so early to ask for a day off for you.
…
In a certain sea area of the Kanto Region. A tiny
island, no bigger than a sesame seed, could be vaguely seen on the sea.
The island had only one building, a research institute, and the entire island was filled with research institutes.
A group of research doctors in white lab coats carefully processed the materials in their hands. One of the research doctors, with thinning hair, walked forward.
His gaze was fixed on the incubation device, on which was a strangely shaped Pokémon, its body very small, its eyes tightly closed, showing no sign of opening.
Not far away, a middle-aged man with a cold and stern face walked up step by step.
This wasn't the first time he'd seen this Pokémon.
Its eyes were filled with fervor, but even more so with desire—an endless, overwhelming desire.
The surrounding PhD researchers all stopped their work and crowded around the middle-aged man.
"There are signs of life. It will soon be born into this world."
Hearing this, the middle-aged man's lips curled into a slight smile as he reached out and touched the nutrient barrier in front of him.
That tiny Pokémon would undoubtedly become a world-renowned existence in the future.
The Artificial God Project.
It was the most crucial step in his control of the entire world.
"Fuji, you must research Blaine, this Pokémon," the middle-aged man said slowly. "Its existence is hope for you."
"Hope to revive everything."
The middle-aged man before him was none other than Giovanni.
The Goldenrod City project was underway, yet he was still admiring his research results on a deserted island.
A glint of light appeared in Dr. Fuji's eyes upon hearing this. He didn't know how long he had waited for this day.
Finally, he saw the word 'hope.'
He had voluntarily joined Team Rocket because Team Rocket could give him hope.
Gene cloning technology!
The Artificial Pokémon Project!
These were all hopes he had witnessed firsthand, rekindling the hope within him.
"Little Ai, please forgive my selfishness… wait a little longer, I will bring you back to me," Professor Fuji murmured. "This is my final research… Little Ai, wait for me."
"To witness a true god."
"A god capable of destroying everything!"
Standing to the side, a bald old man in a lab coat, his face filled with desire, stood
the Gym Leader of Crimson City.
Blaine!
He had done countless things in his life, and this Pokémon before him was the most correct choice for Blaine; he had created a god.
A true god!
He had once mentioned the rumors of an artificial god to Oak Azure and Agatha Christie, a god capable of destroying everything.
Just as the plan began, Oak Azure abandoned his participation, choosing instead to study the Pokédex. Agatha Christie, because of Oak Azure's departure, fought him, ultimately losing and abandoning her dream of becoming a research professor, becoming the current Elite Four member.
"The League has its eye on you; it's time to go back and take charge of your gym," Giovanni said calmly, yet coldly.
Blaine nodded slightly, her eyes still burning with fervor.
"Saffron City. Master Ball."
"I should go there too."
Giovanni's mind conjured up the entirety of the Silver Corporation.
A company that manufactured Poké Balls—Team Rocket could destroy it with a flick of their wrist.
