Chapter 32 - Chapter 32 Sisters' Night Talk

  "It's him, it's him, it's him!"

The black crow perched on Kocho Kanae's shoulder, hopping and shouting at the top of its lungs.

Confirming the demon was truly gone, Kocho Kanae's tense body relaxed.

Although she dreamed of harmonious coexistence between humans and demons, she also knew very well that reality was different.

Humans hated and feared demons, while demons only saw humans as food.

There was no possibility of coexistence.

However, this demon was a little different.

  Kocho Kanae's eyes brightened slightly.

She hadn't sensed any malice from that demon.

According to the Kasugai Crow's intelligence, that demon was killing demons and had even asked it to bring people to rescue others.

All signs pointed to that demon being different.

Unfortunately, it simply left, seemingly unwilling to communicate.

Kocho Kanae circled Mount Natagumo, finding no trace of other demons, nor did she see the demon with the golden vertical pupils again.

She could only leave with regret,

  returning to the Butterfly Mansion.

By the time Kocho Kanae had treated everyone's injuries, it was already evening.

  Even she was somewhat exhausted.

  "What's for dinner?"

Kanae Kocho had just stepped out of the ward when she saw a familiar figure enter through the door, a gentle smile appearing on her tired face.

  "Shinobu, you're back!"

Shinobu asked. "Sister, I heard you went on a mission last night?"

Kanae Kocho smiled and nodded. "But not to kill demons, just to rescue someone."

Shinobu nodded, not paying much attention.

Their Butterfly House was the most important medical facility for the Demon Slayer Corps.

Rescuing people was one of their missions.

Kanae, however, was eager to share, saying enthusiastically, "Shinobu, I encountered a very interesting demon during this mission."

Shinobu asked in surprise, "Sister, didn't you just say this mission wasn't to kill demons?"

Kanae replied, "I didn't kill him."

  Shinobu was even more surprised.

She knew her sister had always felt pity for demons and hoped that humans and demons could coexist peacefully.

However, her sister had always fulfilled her duties as a Pillar very well.

This was the first time she had ever let a demon go.

Kanae knew her sister well, tapped her forehead, and smiled, "What are you thinking, Shinobu? I didn't let him go."

After the sun set, the world was quickly enveloped in night.

Kanae and Shinobu sat on the edge of the bed, each holding a cup of tea.

"He was indeed a very strange demon,"

Shinobu said, her brow furrowing slightly.

Her sister had already told her the whole story—killing demons, absorbing demons, saving people—it didn't sound like something a demon would do.

Kanae Kocho warned, "If Shinobu encounters him, be careful. His aura is very strong; I feel his strength is no less than that of the Lower Moon demons of the Twelve Demon Moons."

  "A Lower Moon demon?"

Shinobu nodded seriously and asked, "What are his characteristics?"

Unlike her sister, she hoped to coexist peacefully with demons and would never let her guard down against them.

Kanae thought for a moment, "He's very tall, handsome, and looks almost indistinguishable from a human. His most striking feature is his pair of golden vertical pupils."

  "Golden vertical pupils?"

Shinobu paused in her tea-drinking motion.

"What's wrong?" Kocho Kanae immediately noticed his unusual expression and asked, "Shinobu, have you ever seen a similar demon?"

"I haven't seen one, I've only heard about... no, that's not right either."

Shinobu didn't know what to say for a moment, so she simply started from the beginning.

"Sister, do you remember the mission I received not long ago... When I got there, after investigating, I found that there were no demons at all, but some people were using the name of demons to do evil..."

She recounted her experience in Azabu-Iikura, and finally said, "Actually, I suspected that Mr. Aomura might be a demon, and I even did some investigation. Later, I learned that he often went out during the day, which dispelled my suspicion."

Kocho Kanae had actually heard her mention this before, but not in such detail, and she seemed thoughtful.

  "There are two possibilities.

One, it's just a coincidence, and Mr. Aomura has no connection with the demon with the golden vertical pupils.

Two, Mr. Aomura is the demon I saw on Mount Natagumo, and he overcame sunlight in some way."

  Shinobu's face was serious.

This was no small matter, no, it should be said that this was a huge disaster!

The Nichirin Blade could kill demons because the blade was made of a material that absorbed sunlight.

If the demon overcomes the sunlight, it might no longer fear being beheaded by the Nichirin Blade.

In that case, there would be no way to kill the demon.

Kanae Kocho remained relatively calm, comforting her, "Shinobu, don't be too nervous.

If Mr. Aomura really is a golden-eyed demon, judging from his actions, he's likely hostile to demons and doesn't harbor any ill will towards humans."

Shinobu, however, wasn't as optimistic as her sister.

Mr. Aomura had killed hundreds of people in one night.

Although those people deserved to die, Mr. Aomura, who personally carried out the killings, was undoubtedly a dangerous individual.

If he was a demon, the danger would increase tenfold.

After thinking for a moment, Shinobu put down her cup and said seriously, "Sister, we must inform the Master about this!" "

I told the Master about the golden-eyed demon when I returned. I'll report the information you provided first thing tomorrow morning,"

  Kanae Kocho said.

Although she held some special expectations for the golden-eyed demon, she wouldn't let her guard down.

Shinobu nodded, her expression slightly grave.

Unaffected by sunlight, possessing strength comparable to a Lower Moon demon, and moving with unpredictable speed—if such a demon truly existed, what would they do? How would they kill him?

"Alright, Shinobu, don't worry so much."

Kanae Kocho gently ruffled her hair, smiling softly. "This is all just speculation; perhaps it's purely a coincidence.

Actually, I think that's more likely.

After all, even Muzan Kibutsuji couldn't overcome sunlight.

If a demon could overcome it, Muzan would probably be hunting him down relentlessly.

But judging from the current situation, the demon hasn't made any unusual moves."

  Shinobu nodded slightly.

  She understood this.

This was the only thing that comforted her.

Shinobu thought of her friend Mitsuri Kanroji, whom she had recently met.

Mitsuri Kanroji was currently learning breathing techniques.

Her talent was exceptional, possessing a powerful physique that everyone envied.

Mitsuri Kanroji might become a Pillar in the future.

What would she think if she knew this?

Mitsuri Kanroji joined the Demon Slayer Corps hoping to help others like Mr. Aomura. What

if she knew that Mr. Aomura was actually a demon?

Shinobu Kocho desperately hoped this was just a coincidence.
