Chapter 3 - A new friend

Scarlet's eyes widened. I couldn't tell if it was shock or disbelief. Weeks to months, she and I started as acquaintances and grew into friends. Her fiancé, some shitty redhead, kept bullying her. I often stepped in, injuring myself and screaming at her fiancé. My parents almost withdrew our work on trains and transportation from the empire because of it, and the emperor ordered his son to never harm me, and he couldn't bully Scarlet for that, and those years were perfect.

Now, fifteen years old, Scarlet and I were in school together for nobles. I developed well, ice magic, first in my family line in this world. Even got better grades than in my last life! With Scarlet's help, I rose to the top of our grades side by side! My hair is now shoulder length, and often half-up. I only wear pantsuits instead of dresses. Scarlet got the name Icey Rose, and I got the name Fire Blossom. Nowadays, when Kyle, or whatever his name is, can't remember, shows up to bully Scarlet, I bury him in snow, freeze him in ice, or blind him with winter wind.

"Ugh, there's my Scarlet." The good morning ended immediately when I heard that shithead. Scarlet and I turned, and there was the damn redhead. "Duke Vandimion ordered you to tend to my every need, right?"

Fully turning to him as he pointed at Scarlet.

"That doesn't stop just because we're stuck at school," he continued. "Which means you're my slave and you have to do what I tell you!"

I heard enough. Raising my hand and snapped my fingers, pointing to the sky. The shitty redhead and his cronies buried themselves in snow in an instant. Then I grabbed Scarlett's hand and ran.

"Let's Run Scarlet!" I laughed. Scarlet laughed as well, running with me. We went to classes while those fools were in the snow. Scarlet and I made two new friends while here. I managed to freeze her fiancé in place without Scarlet noticing, and we left for lunch. This cycle continued throughout the day. Till I ran into a tall woman while walking and talking to the others.

"Oh! Apologies," I looked up and froze, seeing a tall woman with pretty tan skin, dark curly, shiny hair, and a pretty shade of green eyes. I don't remember her ever in the series. She is stunning.

"The fault is mine." She spoke with a heavenly voice. I had no words to say anything. Julius, the first prince and heir, came in.

"Mano, we have to head for class soon." He said to her. Strange, I've never seen someone like this Mano in the story before, let alone connected to the first prince. Even the authors paper back story hadn't mentioned someone like her.

"I hope to see you again," Mano said to me as she left. I felt strange. Why was there no mention of someone like her? I shook my head and went on with the day. Sadly, different buildings meant Scarlet, and I couldn't walk to the dorms together. Walking along the stretch to my dorm, I ran into the Mano girl again; she was across the dorms from me.

"Oh, hello," I greeted her.

"Well, hello again," she greeted me. "We haven't been properly introduced, have we? I'm Mano, my family contracts farm land as far east as you could go on the continent."

"Gia Daulton," I said to her. "You and Julius seem close,"

"Not really, he's only around because my parents sent me here to find a fiancé."

"Really?" I asked her, and I had no idea that this world had farm contracts in the east.

"Honesty, I'd rather marry a woman instead of a man, as everyone expects." Her words made me freeze. There is no way I scored this well in rebirth. A second chance to make my parents proud, befriending my favourite character, and finding a tall girl who is my type and attracted to girls.

"Oh, yeah?" I asked, my back against my dorm's door.

"Yeah, someone like you." Her words made me melt.
