[SKILLS]

Active Skill: Fire Protection — An invisible shield of fire around the user's body that reduces incoming damage, transferable to allies up to ten times, its condition trackable through Heat Sense.

Active Skill: Lava Heal — Scorching flame that burns away toxins and infection while accelerating the repair of injuries and shattered bone.

Active Skill: Mud Lava — A pool of molten mud beneath an enemy, restricting movement while dealing continuous damage.

Active Skill: Fire Booster — Concentrated flame around the feet, sharply increasing speed and agility.

Ultimate Skill: Stellar Pull: The user conjures a blue gas giant star and freely controls its size.

Large Form: Expands into a colossal blue star that generates an overwhelming gravitational field, pulling nearby enemies into its stellar vortex. Those caught within are immobilized by the crushing gravity while being continuously scorched by the star's immense heat.

Compressed Form: Condenses the star into a tiny sphere of compressed stellar energy. The user hurls it at a velocity approaching the speed of light, allowing it to pierce through nearly any obstacle or target before they can react, making it virtually impossible to dodge.

Ultimate Skill: Supernova — Compresses an immense amount of stellar energy into a concentrated core before triggering a controlled supernova explosion, releasing a catastrophic burst of heat and energy after a brief charge.

Passive: Unknown — Conceals the user's true information from those with significantly lower levels, preventing them from reading the user's level, abilities, and true strength.

Passive: Teleport — Instant transfer through space, usable for dodging, repositioning, or rapid travel bypassing distance and obstacles.

Passive: Foresight — Perceives and predicts an opponent's movements moments before they occur.

Passive: Heat Thickness — A compressed layer of heat energy that weakens incoming attacks before they land.

Passive: Heat Sense — Detects the heat and presence of all beings and hostile intent regardless of obstacles or concealment.

(Confiscated) Passive: Inferno Gathering — Converts a defeated enemy's remaining essence into 10,000,000 additional EXP per kill.

Passive: Indigo Fire — An innate celestial flame woven into every ability, hot enough not merely to burn but to erase — mana, matter, and existence itself reduced to nothing in a silent flash. Known as Godfire.

Azraeth stared at the number sitting beside Mana for a long moment, as though staring might somehow change it.

Twenty-four.

Out of a hundred thousand.

"I knew it..." The words came out low, rough at the edges, more confirmation than surprise. "My mana is almost out."

He'd felt it in the last stretch of the fight — that hollow, scraped-clean sensation behind his ribs whenever he reached for Stellar Pull, the growing delay before Supernova finally answered his will. He hadn't needed a status window to know he'd been running on fumes. He'd needed it to know exactly how close to empty those fumes actually were.

The rest of the window wasn't much kinder. HP sat well below half, the numbers a quiet record of every claw strike he'd chosen to absorb rather than dodge. And behind his eyes, that same stubborn pressure still throbbed, duller now than during the fight but no less present, no less wrong. Lava Heal had done what it could for torn muscle and cracked bone. It had never once touched whatever was actually causing that ache, and some part of him — quiet, patient, the same part that had learned to read Katabasis's storm one heartbeat at a time — already suspected why.

Not now, he told himself, pressing two fingers briefly against his temple. One thing at a time.

He let his shoulders drop, allowing himself, finally, a full breath of the throne room's cold, ash-scented air. Sixty floors. Weeks of unbroken fighting that the outside world would never register as more than the space between one blink and the next. His body ached in ways he'd stopped trying to catalog individually days ago, and yet, beneath all of it, something else stirred too — something he recognized easily enough, because it had never really left him since the moment he'd first stepped through the black stone gate.

But I'm curious what monsters are down there in the next floor.

He almost laughed at himself. Half-dead on his feet, and still the thought arrived before the exhaustion could fully claim it.

He rose slowly, testing his legs before trusting them with his full weight, and began walking. The throne room's ruined archway gave way to a tunnel that hadn't existed a moment before — the Labyrinth rearranging itself the way it always did between floors, stone flowing like slow water, reshaping corridors no architect had ever designed and no mind but the Labyrinth's own could fully comprehend. The air changed as he walked, the last of the blizzard's chill fading into something older, stiller, heavier — the particular hush of a place that existed to be tested by very few and understood by fewer still.

DING!

⟢ [Floor 61 — Outer Core]

The floor opened not into a cavern or a battlefield, but into something far stranger.

No monsters greeted him. No walls cracked open, no eyes glowed hungry in the dark. Instead, Azraeth found himself standing at the edge of a vast, open chamber, and at its center hung a rift — a tear in the air itself, its edges rippling faintly like heat above stone, though no warmth radiated from it at all. If anything, the space around it felt colder than the frozen palace he'd just left, a cold that had nothing to do with temperature.

He stopped well short of it, every instinct honed over seven years of fighting screaming at him to be cautious.

Heat Sense reached toward it on reflex — and found nothing. No warmth, no cold, no hostile intent, no presence at all, as though the rift existed in a category his perception simply had no framework to describe. Foresight offered nothing either, no flicker of anticipation, no sense of what might emerge from it or when. It was, in the truest sense he'd ever experienced, unreadable.

The air near it didn't move the way air should. Dust hung suspended a foot from the rift's edge, neither falling nor rising, and the light itself seemed to bend faintly around it, as if even illumination were reluctant to look directly inside.

Azraeth stood there a long time, watching, saying nothing.

Whatever that is, it isn't like anything else in this place.

He thought of Grimgold's three transformations, of Katabasis's endless winter given a body. Both had been terrifying, both had pushed him to genuine limits — but both had also been, in some fundamental sense, knowable. Monsters. Aberrations. Things with shape and hunger and rules he could eventually learn to read. This rift offered him nothing to read at all, and that absence unsettled him more than any claw or spike field ever had.

His gaze dropped to the status window still hovering faintly at the edge of his vision. Twenty-four mana. HP still climbing back only slowly, without Lava Heal's full strength to accelerate it further. A headache that refused to fully die no matter how much fire he poured into it.

If a monster comes out now, I don't think I can make it out alive in this Labyrinth.

The thought arrived without drama, without fear dressed up as anything more than what it was — a clear-eyed accounting of exactly what he had left to work with, and exactly how little that would matter against whatever the rift represented. He'd learned, across seven years and sixty floors, that the difference between courage and recklessness was rarely obvious in the moment. It only became obvious afterward, usually to whoever survived to reflect on it.

He wasn't interested in finding out the hard way.

"Exit," he said quietly.

The Celestial Labyrinth answered instantly. The rift, the ruined chamber, the ancient hush of the sixty-first floor — all of it dissolved around him in a single soundless breath, and Azraeth found himself standing once more beneath open sky, the familiar salt-and-stone air of Celestial Isle filling his lungs in place of the Labyrinth's endless silence.

DING!

He stood there a moment, swaying slightly, the sky above him painted in the soft gold of late afternoon — a sky that had not moved at all, he knew, no matter how many weeks he'd just lived through beneath it.

Home. I need to get home.

He reached for Teleport out of pure habit, the same instinct that had carried him across battlefields a hundred times over, and felt the skill answer sluggishly, starved of the mana it needed to fully obey him. The world blurred, folded, released him — and when it settled again, he wasn't standing in Shadowfen's familiar clearing at all, but somewhere between, the swamp's distant fog visible through a stand of unfamiliar trees, his house nowhere in sight.

His legs, which had carried him through sixty floors and countless deaths avoided by margins too thin to measure, finally reached whatever limit they'd been quietly approaching all along. He took one step. Then another, slower, his vision beginning to blur at the edges the way it had during the worst of the fight against Katabasis, the ground tilting subtly beneath him though he knew, somewhere distant and analytical, that it wasn't the ground moving at all.

A third step never fully landed.

Azraeth's knees buckled, and the world tipped sideways, the last thing he registered before darkness swallowed everything the distant, indifferent sound of wind moving through trees that didn't care whether he woke again or not.

He collapsed into the grass between Shadowfen and home, and did not move.
