Marcus managed to walk Leyla to her house as they stood outside the door.
"Do one thing for me please, make sure tomorrow you don't step outside your house, stay inside with the children early in the morning the camp will be announced the same until further notice" Marcus spoke to her
"What is going on? I have to report to Med Bay, there are still injured people" Leyla asked calmly.
"Don't worry, for tomorrow Dr. Patel will see them through, just until the second announcement comes you should all be in your house. I gotta go now say hi to Ayanna for me" Marcus walked away Leyla was looking at her.
"Ohh come on Ayanna where are you?" Leyla asked herself so worryingly.
Ayanna managed to find the hidden pipes that was heading inside Ivory's house, she was inside it was so dark and scary. She slowly was crawling inside heading towards the house. She was following directions by directions, as she follows the pipes down until she got inside the basement she was about to open the hatch and jumped down but she hesitated as she look closely she saw A woman was lying on the bed. It was Lucy still unconscious. She didn't know her a few minutes later Ivory was dragged inside with Marcus. Ayanna was looking quietly.
"You have to set her IV" Marcus spoke to Ivory.
"You were about to kill me? I can't believe after everything I did to you, I spied on you and I did everything I did"
"It wasn't enough" Marcus shouted with anger Ivory stepped back a little.
"You have made a fool out of me, you were going to tell Dr. Patel about my plans"
"I wasn't gonna do that" Marcus laughed.
"Set her IV you will not be able to leave this basement until I say so, this patient, no one has to find out about this" Marcus spoke as he turned around he wanted to walk away.
"Why are you doing this? You said you wanted to protect everyone, keep people together and protect them?" Marcus stopped and turned around.
"Things have changed, I found the cure but I don't know who the blood belongs to yet, so k I'm gonna keep searching for the blood until I get it, because if it does cure vampirism than it can do more" Marcus opened the door and walked away. Ivory was left all alone. Four guards were guarding the door outside the room. She slowly started setting an IV at Lucy. Ayanna slowly opened the hatch and jumped down very quietly. Ivory didn't noticed her she picked a knife slowly nearby and grabbed her while shut her up.
"You scream, I slit your throat" Ayanna said Ivory set her eyes beside and saw her she nodded. Ayanna released her. Ivory exhaled. Ayanna walked to Lucy.
"What is going on here? Who is this?" Ayanna asked her.
"It's a long story" Ivory spoke. Ayanna took a chair and sit beside her.
"We have until dawn, you better start talking because it's only a matter of three hours" Ayanna spoke. Ivory started explaining everything to her. A moment later she finished leaving Ayanna with a shocking face.
"I knew the son of bitch was a bastard, so you spied on Dr. Patel. Wow" Ayanna spoke
"Hey, I am on your side here" Ivory said
"Do you know who switch sides Ivory? Rats, tell me who this woman is"
"She is Lucy I heard she was Dr. Patel's nurse from St Thomas Hospital"
"The bastard had the nerve to drag vampires along, let me ask you one more question, what were you doing in the hospital?" Ayanna asked her Ivory froze for a bit.
"I have a cute stomach cancer, stage 2 by now I think. I was going for my medication and the rising began" Ayanna was left quiet.
"What is Marcus planning on doing?" Ayanna asked again.
"I don't know, I was dragged out before I could hear them talk, but what I heard is that he is planning on taking more people's blood until he finds the blood he is looking for, and if he finds the person who has the blood he is going to kill everyone and spare on him/her"
"I gotta go find Dr. Patel, she is the only one who knows about this" Ayanna spoke
"You won't get inside, the security is tripled what you can do for now is, go home pack everything you have and get out of this place before it's too late. Whatever Marcus is planning it's something big and he is willing to kill everyone" Ayanna opened the hatch and jumped up to get inside the pipes. She looked at Ivory.
"What about you?" Ayanna asked her. Ivory smiled.
"I will go wherever fate brings me, if I live then we will meet again" Ivory spoke.
"I will come back for you, stay put and don't die, try your best to keep Lucy alive" Ayanna spoke as she closed the hatch and returned back. She got out of the pipes and returned back to the house Leyla was waiting for her inside. Ayanna got inside and explained everything to Leyla.
"Where is Ivory now?" Leyla asked
"I told you locked and guarded she has a task to take care of this sleeping beauty her name is Lucy, she says she was Dr. Patel's nurse" Leyla's eyes widened with surprise.
"Lucy? Oh My God" she shouted
"Why do you know her?" Ayanna asked.
"We are nurses together, she was the first person who got bitten by Nadia inside the operating bed. If she is alive than that means Dr. Patel has find a cure" Leyla was shocked.
"Hey, Leyla, there's no time. It's rising we have to go now"
"What about Dr. Patel, Lucy, Emma?" Leyla asked.
"We will find a way" Leyla and Ayanna started packing their things so fast. Gathering everything they could.
As sun rose and Morning arrived. Ayanna woke Zara and Ben up. She was rushing them to shower while Leyla was preparing their winter clothes and coat. They were brought inside the room. Leyla was putting on their clothes so fat.
"What is going on? We need to sleep, it's too early to wake up" Zara was speaking.
"Hey Zara listen, do you remember the day I told you that I'm gonna help you find your mother? I think I found her already" Ayanna spoke Zara's face filled with surprise l.
"Really? Where is she?" Zara asked.
"She is nearby, but you have to promise me you will be strong, okay, you have to be strong because we will pass through the vampires"
"I promise" Zara spoke. As they have finished preparing them.
"Now we have to get Emma and others and leave" Leyla spoke. Ayanna removed a carpet under the coach and crashed the wood she took out the box. She opened it and took out her knives. The same knives she was given by Zero and Alex at the hospital.
Suddenly they heard an emergency sound. Guards were surrounding every house.
"Announcement to everyone, you are kindly requested to walk outside the house and donate your blood, please cooperate kindly, let the guards escort you to the halls" they were shocked.
"It has began" Ayanna spoke as she opened the window and saw guards standing outside.
"There's four of them. We can take them" Ayanna said.
"You are crazy, they have guns, you are not a fighter, I am a nurse we have kids" Leyla spoke.
"Then we have to hide" Ayanna spoke as she took them under the basement to hide. The guards broke the door and started searching for them.
Marcus walked inside Dr. Patel's working quarters, she saw her standing shaking from fear.
"Your dose is ready" Dr. Patel opened a small briefcase inside there were two doses with an injection. Marcus smiled.
"See it's not that hard, all you have to do is be a nice doctor" Marcus spoke.
"I need to see Lucy" Dr. Patel spoke.
"What's the hurry Doc, we should first test the doses" Marcus spoke as he closed the briefcase and took it with him. Dr. Patel followed him along with the rest, as they walked outside Doc saw people were being escorted inside the hall.
They went inside Marcus's house down the basement there were four guards stood ready to be tested. And 6 vampires strongly chained within the walls.
"Test in two of the guards" Dr. Patel was ordered as she took the doses and inject two guards than she stepped backwards.
Suddenly the guards started groaning with pain, they hardly knelt down as the ground beneath them cracked.
"Wow" Marcus was happy seeing that. The guards started groaning while their faces started changing turning into weird faces while green veins started showing their skin. Their nails sharpened like beast and fur growing on their skin. Vampires started growling. They turned so fast and reached them as they crashed them down and ate them so fast while growling like beast. After few minutes they started screaming for fear as their body explode and burst as they died. Marcus was very angry. He turned back to Dr. Patel
"What is going on?" Marcus asked her.
"The dose it's not complete, there has to be one more procedure left"
"Then get on work right away" Marcus said to her.
"I have run out of blood sample" Doc spoke. Marcus smiled while walking to her.
"We have people to donate the blood, where do you think my guards are escorted them to. I will be right there with you watching you taking their bloods one by one. Until I find whoever you are protecting so hard." Marcus spoke as he walks to her.
"You gonna do it if you want to see Lucy again" Marcus slowly walked outside Dr. Patel was shedding tears. Two guards who were left to be tested were very shocked. Doc was escorted together with Marcus heading to the hall.
Ayanna and Leyla were doing their best to stay hidden with the children as the guards slowly searched the house, moving from room to room. They were hiding in the upper section of the basement.
"Why are we hiding from the people who are—" Zara began to ask, but Ayanna quickly covered her mouth with her hand.
"Keep quiet, Zara."
A guard appeared nearby as they watched silently from above. He searched the area carefully, moving with slow, cautious steps. Everyone remained perfectly still, watching him. Moments later, another
guard joined him.
"We have to go. Maybe they left early this morning," the second guard said.
"I don't think so. Marcus's message last night was clear. No one was supposed to leave their houses until an announcement was made. I think they're hiding somewhere in this house."
"Then let's check the basement."
The guards agreed and headed downstairs toward the lower basement. As soon as they disappeared, Ayanna jumped down and helped Zara and Ben climb down. Leyla followed right behind her.
"What now?" Leyla asked.
"We have to find a way out of here. Hurry, let's go."
Ayanna took the lead. They quietly opened the front door and slipped outside. As they moved through the village, they saw people being escorted toward the hall with guns aimed at their backs.
"I knew this day would come," Ayanna said as they carefully sneaked around the buildings, avoiding the guards. She led them toward the fields where she had once worked and planted crops.
When they arrived, they found themselves facing a tall iron wall.
"It's a dead end. We're screwed now," Leyla muttered.
Ayanna looked at her and smiled. She walked over to the wall, pressed against a hidden panel, and revealed a secret passage.
Leyla stared at her in shock.
"Someone's been busy."
"I was preparing for this while you all were busy playing doctors. It's no big deal. Now come on—we have to go. You first."
Leyla knelt down and crawled through the narrow passage. As soon as she made it to the other side, Ayanna tried to pass Zara through the opening.
Suddenly, four guards appeared, raising their rifles.
"Stop where you are!"
Leyla stood frozen on the other side of the wall. Ayanna looked directly at her.
"Run! Go, now!"
Leyla turned and sprinted away. The guards immediately opened fire. She zigzagged desperately, trying to avoid the bullets as she ran. One shot struck her in the leg, but she refused to stop and kept running.
"You bastards!" Ayanna shouted, hurling a stone at one of the guards.
Another guard struck her hard across the head with the butt of his rifle. She collapsed to the ground as blood streamed down her face.
The sound of gunfire echoed throughout the camp, drawing everyone's attention.
Leyla managed to escape.
A few minutes later, Marcus arrived at the scene.
"What is going on here?" he demanded angrily.
"She tried to escape. One of her friends got away. We shot her in the leg," one of the guards reported.
Marcus turned his attention to Ayanna.
"Wow… You always manage to cause trouble, Ayanna."
"I hated you the moment I first saw you," Ayanna replied.
Marcus laughed.
"Boss, should we go after Leyla? She won't get far," one of the guards asked.
"No. Let her die out there. She won't survive the vampires alone with a wounded leg. Take the kids and move out."
Marcus grabbed Ayanna forcefully and dragged her away. She struggled with all her strength, but Marcus was far stronger than she was. Zara and Ben were picked up by the guards and carried away.
