Chapter 130 - Chapter 130: Following the Clues

Chapter 130: Following the Clues

"Tch!"

Mason flicked the blood off his gauntlets and glanced at Mr. Wink, who had just emerged.

"Come out, the enemy has been eliminated."

Mason said casually, while on the other side, Agent One was checking the corpses one by one, looking for any survivors.

There was no time to deal with the bodies, so Mason found a large military vehicle. Time was of the essence; he had to return to Moscow as soon as possible.

If he was delayed too long and Chekov noticed something was wrong, finding someone in such a large city would be difficult.

"You guys go hide in a nearby town. I need to go back to Moscow."

"Wait a minute, I'll go with you!" Princess Nuala pulled up her hood and emerged from the tunnel, calling out to Mason.

Mason frowned slightly. Although he wanted to build a good relationship with Princess Nuala so he could obtain information about the Golden Army from her in the future,

this operation was no game. First, they had to infiltrate the military compound, and then they might very well go deep into enemy territory. Taking Princess Nuala along as a liability was indeed inconvenient.

"Princess, this is too dangerous! Let me go!" Elenia advised from the side.

"No, you're injured and need to rest,"

Princess Nuala refused.

"Let me go!" Mr. Wink said from the side.

Mason frowned.

"I'm not asking for your opinion. Although your physical abilities far surpass those of ordinary humans, your understanding of this world is clearly somewhat outdated. Each additional person increases the risk,"

Mason refused.

Mr. Wink, wielding a massive stone fist, looked even more conspicuous than Agent One. Taking him to infiltrate the enemy compound would make him a sitting duck.

"Take me!"

Princess Nuala unfastened her outer cloak, revealing a tight-fitting outfit underneath.

She was slender, graceful in build, with curves that were elegant and refined.

She looked up at Mason.

"You just witnessed my abilities. While they're not very useful in direct combat, they're incredibly helpful for gathering information."

"Besides, I'm not as delicate as you think!" Princess Nuala proudly raised her head, revealing her long, slender neck.

With a few graceful movements, she was beside Mason. Her agility alone was comparable to the elf named Elenia.

Mason raised an eyebrow in surprise. He had misjudged her; this princess hadn't shown any combat skills in the movies, and he had assumed she was just a fragile royal.

Considering her abilities, he hesitated slightly before agreeing.

"Alright, you can come with us."

Princess Nuala extended her slender, pale hand. "Human, this is our agreement. I'll help you find your companions, and you'll help me find clues about my people."

Her movements were elegant, clearly showing she had received excellent training. Mason smiled. This woman, though seemingly delicate, was extremely proud, clearly refuting Mason's earlier comment about their outdated ways.

"Deal!"

Mason grasped Princess Nuala's hand, gently shaking it. The skin was smooth and supple, truly embodying the phrase "soft as silk."

"Princess, you can't go!"

"It's too dangerous!"

Mr. Wink pleaded from the side. "If he…"

Princess Nuala waved her hand to interrupt him, "If he really has ulterior motives, do you think you can stop him?"

Mr. Wink opened his mouth, his expression defeated.

He knew Princess Nuala was right. Even without direct confrontation, the man's punch that had just defeated Elenia was still vivid in his mind.

And the blood on the snow hadn't even dried yet. Even with his confidence, he knew that his strength was utterly insignificant before this man.

He might not even be a match for the towering operative beside that man.

How could there be such a powerful human?!

"You all go to town and wait for me. Mark the way," Princess Nuala instructed Mr. Wink and the others.

Then she turned to Mason.

"Let's go!"

Mason didn't waste any more words, nodded, and beckoned Agent One to get in the vehicle. They then drove towards Moscow.

On the way back, they drove very fast, arriving back in Moscow in half the usual time.

After instructing Agent One to keep watch, Mason and Princess Nuala quietly infiltrated the military compound. The two avoided the guards and arrived at Chekov's office.

Chekov was extremely vigilant. The moment he saw Mason, he knew their operation had been exposed. He reached for the alarm under the desk while simultaneously drawing his gun and firing wildly at Mason.

If it were an ordinary soldier, even if he could dodge Chekov's gunfire, he would likely be delayed and Chekov would sound the alarm.

By then, even if he could obtain the information he wanted, the swarming troops could overwhelm Mason.

But Mason's reaction greatly surprised Chekov. He actually advanced toward the incoming bullets, his body shifting rapidly, and in a single breath, he was beside Chekov.

A sharp blade flashed from his hand, severing Chekov's wrist in two swift movements!

Chekov's earlier shots were merely panicked, instinctive reactions, naturally inaccurate.

In that critical moment, Mason remained calm and collected, judging the weapon's trajectory by the movement of Chekov's wrist, easily dodging the bullets and preventing him from sounding the alarm.

Faced with Mason's interrogation, Chekov feigned defiance, but his resolve crumbled under Princess Nuala's influence, and he was quickly guided to reveal all the secrets.

Back when Issa Gregory was active in Russia, Chekov and General Ivanovich behind him were staunch followers of Issa.

Even after Gregory left Russia, the two maintained secret contact.

The war also created opportunities for Ivanovich; back then, he was merely a mid-level officer, but with Gregory's help, he rose to his current position in just a few years.

Before Gregory even returned, Ivanovich had already arranged everything for him, reportedly even secretly setting up a clandestine laboratory.

However, such information was beyond Chekov's clearance. After ascertaining Ivanovich's address in Moscow, Mason eliminated him without hesitation.

Princess Nuala was clearly no sheltered royal, unfazed by bloodshed.

Mason, too, had to admit that having such a perceptive ally saved him considerable trouble.

Although some of the guards had been neutralized upon entering, the gunshots and corpses couldn't be hidden for long. After obtaining the information they needed, the two quickly cleaned up their traces, changed into Soviet military uniforms, and quietly slipped back out.

Their journey was uneventful, and once back in the vehicle, the three headed straight for Ivanovich's residence.

Let's push the story forward!
