Chapter 111 - Chapter 111: Long Awaited...

Chapter 111: Long Awaited...

"What did you put in her glass?"

Mason stared at Obadiah with a deadly expression. Although he didn't know what Obadiah had slipped into Carter's glass, he knew it wasn't anything good.

"Sir, what do you mean? I don't quite understand."

The sharp sound of the glass shattering and Carter's subsequent actions had unknowingly attracted a crowd of guests.

Although they didn't know Carter and Mason personally, they were very familiar with Obadiah, and they whispered among themselves.

"What happened?"

"I'm not really sure either, but that man seemed to say that Obadiah put something in her drink."

"How could that be? Obadiah is one of the most respectable businessmen I know."

With so many witnesses around, Obadiah became even more emboldened. "Sir, are you insinuating that I drugged this lady's glass?"

"I hope you can provide evidence, otherwise you might need to speak with my attorney."

"Mason, what's wrong?" Carter looked up and asked.

"Nothing much, just a damn predator!" Mason's lips curled into a dangerous smile.

He looked at Obadiah. "Do you think I can't do anything to you just because no one saw? Do you think I'll have to swallow my anger if I can't find evidence?"

Mason took a step forward, staring down at Obadiah.

"I'll give you one last chance. Tell me what it was, and I'll punish you appropriately based on your actions."

"But if you don't tell me, then I'm sorry—I'll have to do this my way!"

Although the two were about the same height, Obadiah felt as if he were being towered over in Mason's presence.

He saw the lethal intent in Mason's eyes and was momentarily terrified, but how could he admit to this publicly? Composing himself, Obadiah maintained his arrogant demeanor.

"I don't understand what you mean. Go talk to my lawyers if you have concerns!"

"Hmph!" Mason sneered.

"No need for all that trouble. I always prefer to handle things personally!"

With that, he reached out and grabbed Obadiah's throat with his right hand, then, to everyone's horror, lifted the towering Obadiah off the ground!

Obadiah was a large man, nearly 200 pounds, yet Mason effortlessly hoisted him with one hand, as if he were holding a rag doll.

Obadiah's legs kicked weakly, his face flushed crimson. He tried to pry Mason's hand off his throat,

but it was like an iron vice, unyielding no matter how hard he struggled.

"Quick... call security!"

Obadiah stammered, his eyes bloodshot.

"Help!

Someone's attacking me!"

"No need to call security."

Mason looked at Obadiah.

"What you need now is a priest."

Obadiah's eyes widened in terror—he saw no hint of bluffing on Mason's face.

The other man's expression was cold, as if killing were as casual as breathing. This wasn't callousness born from ruthless violence, but a kind of indifference—indifference to life itself.

At this moment, Obadiah finally felt genuine fear.

"Don't kill me!"

"Please!!"

"I was wrong, forgive me!"

"WHOOSH!"

Mason swung Obadiah up, his right hand exerting force, and with Obadiah's terrified screams, Obadiah was hurled like a missile.

His back slammed against the glass curtain wall on the top floor.

The reinforced glass, capable of withstanding repeated impacts, became incredibly fragile under Mason's superhuman strength.

"CRASH!"

With a deafening sound, the glass curtain wall exploded outward, the cold night wind rushing in, and Obadiah, with a desperate scream, plummeted into the darkness!

Time seemed to freeze—the entire banquet hall fell into a three-second silence, followed by a woman's shriek and the sudden crash of overturned tables and chairs.

"Murder! He killed him!"

"Help!"

The entire banquet hall descended into chaos.

Carter buried herself in Mason's arms, oblivious to everyone else, her eyes burning with longing. "I missed you. I needed you."

Mason lowered his head and gently kissed her lips.

When Howard, who had been schmoozing after the reception, rushed in while adjusting his tie, he saw a massive hole in the glass curtain wall and chaos on the floor.

By then, Mason and Carter had already returned to the estate.

From the moment they entered the villa, their clothes were gradually removed—from the foyer to the living room, then to the staircase. Before they even reached the bedroom, the two passionately collided.

The Brooklyn night grew deeper, and the room was filled with intimate warmth.

"Mason, I can't... I can't anymore..."

Again and again.

Only when Carter could no longer endure and fell into exhausted sleep did their fierce reunion finally cease.

In the real world, Mason had been extremely disciplined in his physical desires, only now releasing them completely.

With his enhanced stamina, he didn't feel tired at all—instead, he felt refreshed, and his mental tension had eased considerably.

Obadiah Stane, in the Iron Man timeline, was a pivotal figure in Tony Stark's life.

His paternal and mentor-like care provided Tony with much-needed guidance after losing his own father, but his subsequent betrayal deeply wounded Tony.

When Mason arrived in New York, Hydra had provided him with detailed intelligence, allowing him to recognize Obadiah Stane.

Now that Obadiah was dead, and whether he had a son or protégé to carry on his legacy was uncertain, Mason's actions had fundamentally altered the plot of Iron Man.

However, he didn't seem to regret his actions—he simply made the decision any man should make under the circumstances.

While this plot deviation might cost Mason his foreknowledge and increase the difficulty and danger of his mission, many things cannot be simply judged by logic alone.

If someone harmed Carter, Mason would despise himself if he didn't retaliate.

Mason acknowledged that his relationship with Carter initially stemmed from attraction, but even enhanced operatives have feelings.

He stood up, dressed, and pulled a deactivated communicator from his pocket.

"Agent Zero, report mission status."

"Successfully approached the target, awaiting further instructions." Mason, stroking Carter's smooth skin, replied casually.

"Just now, I eliminated her several times." Mason thought darkly, "Does this count as completing the mission?"

"This Carter woman has risen rapidly in just over a year, secretly controlling multiple industries. She has restricted the flow of several critical materials through her companies, causing us significant disruption."

"Therefore, her assets and financial intelligence are extremely valuable!"

"After eliminating the target, collect information on her assets, then proceed to Outpost Alpha!"

Hearing the hidden facility mentioned on the communicator, a lethal glint appeared in Mason's eyes.

"How can I do justice to such a perfect night without killing a few people?"
