Chapter 93 - Chapter 93: The Rest is Up to Me

Forest Center – Devastation

"Cele~"

A cute emerald green figure materialized in mid-air.

Celebi hovered above the explosion-ravaged clearing, her worried eyes scanning the desolation. Powder snow fell around her as she flitted back and forth.

Then—she raised her slender hand.

Pale green light burst from her body, rippling outward like water.

Transformation.

Towering trees—bark scorched clean—returned. Vibrant, their magnificent forms upright once more. Delicate flowers—petals utterly destroyed—reassembled, fragrant scent blooming anew. Shrubs dotting the forest paths rose tall, creating a scene of vibrant life.

The forest healed.

Celebi lowered her hands, exhausted. After a short rest, she could continue to other parts—

"Cele~"

"Salamence. Dragon Pulse."

A cold female voice shattered the peace.

The sky—blocked by trees—brightened. Surging blue-purple light waves erupted, stirring dragon-like dust, blasting toward Celebi.

"Cele~!"

Already weakened. Direct hit. The wounded Forest God crashed to the ground.

A mournful cry.

Mythical. Not combat-skilled. This powerful attack would soon send her into coma.

She struggled to rise—but her exhausted body had nothing left.

"The plan succeeded."

Hunter J watched the struggling Forest God with cold satisfaction. She raised her high-tech device.

One laser. Golden statue. Three billion League coins.

"It seems we arrived just in time."

A calm voice descended from the sky.

A motorcycle—streaking meteor—cut through swirling powder snow. Fierce gale, wind-blade sharp, rushed forward with unstoppable momentum.

"What?!"

J's thumb froze over the device.

Terrifying killing intent spiked. She looked up—rolled instinctively.

Her delicate, fair face stained with light yellow mud. Disheveled.

Wade drifted to a stop. Snow trail curled behind the motorcycle.

He dismounted elegantly, calmly brushing powder snow from his clothes.

"Before you catch Celebi—you'll have to get past us."

"That's right... N-no, I can't stand still~"

"Be careful."

The energetic blue-haired girl's eyes welled with tears after barely three seconds of looking cool. Wade took her delicate, soft hands, keeping her steady.

Jenny had been so scared on the road she'd nearly merged with him. But Dawn's relentless shouts—"Brother Wade, faster!"—had made him twist the throttle to maximum.

Result? She's utterly limp.

"I'm Officer Jenny." The tall, sexy officer flashed her badge. "You're surrounded. Surrender now."

"Jenny?!"

J's henchmen panicked. Flustered shouts erupted.

"What's going on? I told—"

"The perimeter guards?" Wade shrugged. "We've already dealt with them."

Gardevoir's soft hum echoed. Knocked-out Hunter organization members—two, three at a time—were thrown into the clearing.

Hunter J was cautious. Batch patrols. Perimeter guards ready to report. Early retreat prepared.

But during their wild ride, Gardevoir had used Psychic to knock out every perimeter guard—without a single sound escaping.

"J. Alliance investigators are coming." Jenny's face was serious. "Surrender now."

Hunter J scoffed.

"Don't be ridiculous. Your Alliance can't catch me."

Original plan: forest fire → lure Celebi → ambush → capture.

The blizzard had extinguished the fires. But the plan still worked—Celebi appeared, Salamence struck.

And just as she was about to complete her three-billion-League transaction—

He appeared.

The disheveled silver-haired woman gnashed her teeth. Cold gaze fixed on Wade—who had already rescued Celebi.

Interrupted her meticulously planned scheme. Dealt with all her perimeter personnel.

Promising young Trainer.

"Salamence. Aerial Ace."

Without warning, Hunter J—face cold as frost—commanded her Pokémon to attack.

Wade looked up. Expression calm.

He'd been comforting Celebi, checking her injuries. But he'd never let his guard down against this venomous female Hunter.

"Gar~"

Instant mental communication. The pale blue figure flashed forward. A Shadow Ball gathered at her chest—then violently collided with dozens of fierce wind blades already reaching the Trainer.

Blocked.

"J. You're not getting away today."

Ms. Jenny's heart had been in her throat. Now—relief. Then rage.

Hunter J had completely disregarded basic battle rules.

"Growlithe. Prepare for battle!"

"Woof woof!"

White light flashed. An orange-yellow canine Pokémon erupted, majestic howl echoing through the clearing.

"Give them a taste. Ariados."

"Prepare for battle. Weezing."

"Come out. Mightyena."

Behind Hunter J, her henchmen released their Pokémon in unison.

Dozens of savage-looking Pokémon materialized. Bloodthirsty eyes fixed on the three who had disrupted their plan.

Atmosphere: tense.

"Piplup~" "Hoo—"

Dawn had prepared mentally. But facing a poaching syndicate directly—for a rookie—was different.

Nervous.

"Relax." Wade squeezed her slender hand gently. "These disorganized thugs aren't as strong as you think."

He smiled.

"Fighting alongside your Pokémon is part of a Trainer's cultivation."

"Yes... I understand~"

She took a deep breath. Reaffirmed her resolve.

Together with Piplup, she faced the furious glares of the brutal poaching group.

"Piplup Piplup~"

They absolutely, absolutely couldn't let these Pokémon thieves escape.

"Celebi. Rest here for a while."

"Bi~"

The weakened Forest God opened her eyes—trembling—and saw the Trainer who had saved her patting her head.

"The rest..."

Wade straightened. Turned to face Hunter J.

"...leave it to me."
