Chapter 8 - Chapter 8:A Dangerous Confession.

The mansion was quieter than usual that night, but an uneasy feeling settled in my chest. Shadows danced along the walls, flickering from the candlelight as if warning me of something unseen.

I found Ethan in the library, his hands resting on a stack of old letters. His expression was tight, unreadable.

"Zyra… there's something you need to know," he said, his voice low, almost hesitant.

My heart skipped. I had expected many things, but a confession? Not like this.

He unfolded a letter, sliding it across the table toward me. I picked it up, my fingers trembling. The words were simple, but they carried a weight that made me freeze:

"Some truths about this mansion… and me… are dangerous. You deserve to know them, but only when the time is right."

"Why now?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper. "Why tell me this?"

Ethan looked at me, and for a moment, his mask of calm faded. "Because you deserve the truth. Because I trust you… more than anyone."

A shiver ran down my spine — part fear, part excitement. His words were a confession, but also a promise.

I didn't know what the future held, but one thing was certain: the mansion's secrets were only beginning to unravel, and my heart… was already tangled in Ethan's.
