Chapter 1: The Selection
25 Year Laters
As Chloe approached the temple she was somewhat excited but scared for selection.
The Selection was a process of how young priests gain their staff and connection to their deity. Most priests have already chosen a deity they want to make connections with in order to gain more power.
Chloe had yet to choose a deity she wanted to worship. She thought of most options people choose she doesn't like so she approached the front step of the temple.
Suddenly Chloe heard "Have you decided who you want to dedicate yourself to."
As she turned she saw it was her friend Katie "No, Not Yet Katie." Chloe said hold her arm together in front of her chest.
Katie Chuckle "Is that so well it you turn i finish up about an hour ago!"
"Is that so I can see your staff then?" Chloe said with smirk.
Katie eye flash before Chloe could even blink her eyes the staff manifest as she grip it her staff was gold with gem at top of rod and inside ring also on top with 1 ring each side showcasing she was brand new.
"Wow the staff look amazing this year!" Chloe said in shocked of new staff design
Katie Chuckle again "Yep, now go inside and see if your luck is different this year."
Chloe waves goodbye for now to Katie before going inside the temple as she walks toward the altar in the center of the room. The head priest's bow before continuing with "Welcome back young lady ready to perform the Ritual."
Chloe knot before kneeling on top altar praying with her hand clasp together in front chest i close she does the chant "Oh great ones watching over this world please let me be a humble vessel to let great power though."
Chloe did chant incomplete like most attempts. Sometimes this makes it fail or sometimes a random god decides to pick them. The second option seems to happen for Chloe as a cracked tear sky opens above her as an orb that appears to be green blur as it reaches her chest it merges into her eye flash blue for a second before returning to her normal eyes. Her staff manifested in her arm it appears similar to Katie's although with green crystal instead of blue of Katie and has three rings on it already on each side

"Woah look like you got it." The Priest said but Chloe had already long left. little does he know that this is the start of a massive journey.
