"Lena, how many years have you been working here?" I asked between bites of the burger, the savoury juices still lingering on my tongue.
She paused, popping a fry into her mouth thoughtfully before answering with a proud smile. "At least seven years now. Started as an intern right out of design school—fetching coffee, organizing swatches. The boss saw potential and promoted me fast."

"Seven years?" I echoed, taking another hearty bite, the cheese stretching satisfyingly. This could make digging for info a lot easier, I thought, mind racing beneath my casual demeanour. I needed more details to piece together Tina's world. "That's impressive, Lena."
"Yes—feels like family after all this time. The boss is really respectful towards all of her subordinates." She sipped her iced tea, ice clinking softly.
"Good for you. Is Tina a good boss?" I pressed gently, wiping my hands on a napkin.
