Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Dragons of the Same Generation

Aegon's eyes narrowed slightly, as if he knew what the problem was.

"I've already had Ser Aric prepare, you can communicate with Ser Aric, and I'll go to Dragonstone, I won't run around."

Aegon walked up to the huge model of the Valyria Freehold and reached out to pull off a tower.

"If you don't let me go, I'll pull off all the towers!"

Viserys's eye twitched upon hearing this. This brat actually dared to threaten him; he wouldn't have dared threaten his father when he was seven.

"Fine, go ahead, but remember, you are only allowed to go to Dragonstone, not the North!" Viserys instructed.

Aegon secretly curled his lips. He knew Viserys was afraid of him running off to the Wall in the North.

It's just worrying about the Night King, he wasn't unaware.

"I know, I'm leaving."

After speaking, Aegon left in a hurry without waiting for Viserys to speak.

Finding the distracted Aemond, Aegon gave him a look, then looked at Helena.

"Helena, if Mother asks, just say I took Aemond out to play, okay?"

Helena nodded gently, then continued playing with the insect in her hand.

After instructing Helena, Aegon took Aemond to the Dragonpit in King's Landing.

Seeing Aemond's distracted look, Aegon patted his head.

"What are you thinking about? If you're scared, you can wait another two years, you're not even five yet, you have plenty of time."

"Brother, is that she-Dragon you mentioned really gentle?" Aemond's lips were tightly pursed.

Aegon tilted his head and recalled. Silverwing was indeed quite gentle. He even felt that as long as they had Targaryen blood, anyone could tame Silverwing.

If a rotten drunkard like Ulf could ride Silverwing, there was no reason Aemond couldn't.

However, for Aemond's safety, he still had to personally test Silverwing first, lest Aemond be roasted like a suckling pig.

"Don't be afraid. I'll test Silverwing first when the time comes. You watch from a distance and make your own choice."

As the two spoke, Sunfyre had already crawled out under the summons of the Dragon Guard.

Sunfyre, also known as "the Golden", was a magnificent golden young male Dragon, born on Dragonmount, and tamed by Aegon during his adolescence.

When Aegon went to Dragonmount to choose a young Dragon, he originally wanted to try and tame "the Bronze Fury" Vermithor.

After all, Vermithor was the second-largest Dragon alive, younger than Vhagar, and a male Dragon in his prime.

But before Aegon could see Vermithor, he met the adolescent Sunfyre, and it was love at first sight.

There were no Dragon-taming actions or language.

As if destined, Sunfyre skillfully prostrated himself before Aegon, acknowledging him.

At that time, Aegon no longer wanted Vermithor. Apart from his young age, Sunfyre was superior to Vermithor in other aspects.

According to Archmaester Gyldayn in the original novel, Sunfyre was probably the most magnificent and beautiful Dragon in Westeros, or even the entire world, ever.

A Dragon Guard walked up to Aegon, bowed respectfully, and said, "Prince, there is something you need to know."

"Speak," Aegon replied casually, stroking Sunfyre's large head that had nudged closer.

The Dragon Guard looked at Sunfyre, then said solemnly, "Sunfyre's condition is a bit off."

"Off?"

Aegon frowned, stepped back a few paces, and looked him up and down.

"What's off? Isn't he still so cute and charming?"

The Dragon Guard's eye twitched. You might have some misunderstanding about cuteness, Your Highness?

"Your Highness, have you noticed the size of Syrax and Seasmoke?" the Dragon Guard asked in return.

Sunfyre, Syrax, and Seasmoke were Dragons of the same generation, all born around 100 AC.

Now that he mentioned it, Aegon really hadn't paid attention to the other two Dragons.

"What do you want to say? Just say it directly." Speaking in pure Valyrian, Aegon was a little displeased.

It concerned Sunfyre, and these Dragon Guards were still speaking in riddles with him!

"Since being tamed by you, Sunfyre's growth rate has soared, and he is now twice the size of Syrax.

Moreover, he has become very irritable, trying to break free from his chains almost every day. We are having trouble controlling him."

The Dragon Guard's tone was serious, and his face held an unprecedented solemnity.

Hearing this, Aegon didn't waste words but immediately entered the Dragon Spirit state!

In Westeros, or rather, this magical world, there is a type of person called a skinchanger, also known as a "warg".

Skinchangers can invade the consciousness of animals or humans and control their behavior, which is easier to do if there is an emotional bond between them.

After transmigrating, Aegon didn't awaken any "cheats". The only special thing was his ever-increasing mental power.

Relying on his strong mental power, he successfully became a "Dragon Spirit" a year ago and could easily enter Sunfyre's consciousness.

After connecting with Sunfyre's consciousness, Aegon carefully sensed him and found that besides his Dragon body feeling a bit hot, there seemed to be nothing abnormal.

Just as Aegon was about to exit the Dragon Spirit state, Sunfyre's consciousness suddenly fluctuated.

"Don't want to live in the Dragonpit, want freedom..."

Sunfyre's intended meaning clearly appeared in Aegon's mind, instantly startling Aegon.

The first time he connected with Sunfyre's consciousness, he couldn't even manage the most basic expressions!

"Are you acting so irritable because you don't want to live in the Dragonpit? Is there any physical discomfort? Or any abnormal feeling?"

"No... want to fly, hate... the dark Dragonpit." Sunfyre's thoughts appeared again.

Suddenly, Aegon thought of something.

It is said that ever since the Targaryen family's Dragons were locked in the Dragonpit, their size has become smaller and smaller.

The enclosed Dragonpit restricted the growth of the Dragons within it.

No Dragon bred in the Dragonpit reached the size of Vhagar or Meraxes, much less "the Black Dread" Balerion!.
