Rowan Donovan was just arriving at his penthouse. He was coming from his family's mansion, where his father had delivered his cryptic announcement about having found a "solution" to Rowan's terminal illness.
But Richard, being the controlling man he was, hadn't deemed it necessary to actually tell Rowan what this solution entailed.
"Go back to your house," Richard had said dismissively, waving his hand as if Rowan were a subordinate being dismissed from a business meeting.
"You will hear from me when I've put things in place."
There was no explanation or consideration for the fact that it was Rowan's life they were talking about.
Just orders, as always.
Rowan walked through the door of his penthouse and went straight to sit on one of the couches in his large but cold sitting room.
