Noticing that the mother and son were hesitating, Mary didn't say much. She simply picked up her fork and spoon and served them both generously. "Benjamin, eat more. If there's anything you like, tell this Aunt, alright? I'll make it for you when I have time."
Benjamin was very well-behaved. Seeing that his mother hadn't started eating yet, he felt shy and didn't dare to move his fork and spoon.
Kristen quickly came back to herself. "Benjamin, eat quickly."
Only then did Benjamin nod and start eating earnestly.
Mary watched the child with a soft smile. For some reason, she felt a natural fondness for him, as if she had liked him from the very first moment they met. She couldn't explain it, only that it felt familiar and warm.
The atmosphere gradually became lively as they ate. The dishes and soup Mary had prepared were all finished without leaving much behind.
