Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

A new month began—with the opening of the ability roulette.

After deciding to leave the village, Uchiha Yoichi spent another two days familiarizing himself with Lightning Release Chakra Mode. Only then did he prepare to check whether the superpower roulette could refresh into something powerful before heading out.

[Sneeze Transformation]After you sneeze, one random person within a ten-kilometer radius will be possessed by an animal. The transformed person will be able to hear your inner thoughts. After you sneeze again, the transformation ends.

…What kind of bizarre ability was this?

What did this have to do with him at all?

Uchiha Yoichi thought it over carefully and confirmed that this was essentially a prank ability that had almost nothing to do with him. He closed the roulette interface and stopped paying attention to it.

Over the past year, he had drawn far too many useless abilities. From initially expecting the roulette to help him defy fate, rise to godhood, and reach the level of the Six Paths, his mindset had gradually turned into treating it like a routine daily check-in.

Today's ability was clearly designed for trolling—random trolling at that. He couldn't control it at all. And if he remembered correctly, he had already sneezed once after waking up that morning.

After breakfast, Uchiha Yoichi packed his ninja tools, fully geared up, and headed toward the Hokage Building.

There was still a decent amount of savings at home. Taking missions was mainly because Yoichi wanted to leave the village. He wasn't a native Uchiha or a true Konoha-born ninja, and his sense of belonging here was average at best.

Besides, Konoha Village might look large, but over sixty percent of it consisted of residential areas for civilians and ninja clans. There were only a handful of places worth visiting. Staying here long-term would be suffocating.

Upon arriving at the Hokage Building, Uchiha Yoichi went straight to the Mission Office.

Normally, the Third Hokage personally handled the distribution of missions. A-rank and S-rank missions were always assigned directly by him. However, when the Hokage was busy, he wouldn't appear at the Mission Office.

"I want to take a mission. Preferably a C-rank mission that leaves the village—something like solo bandit extermination."

After saying that, Uchiha Yoichi paused, then emphasized heavily,

"C-rank. Not fake C-rank that's actually A-rank, or disguised S-rank. And don't sneak enemy Jonin into the mission again!"

The ninja at the Mission Office recognized him immediately.

The Uchiha who had broken up three mission squads within half a year. The so-called "cold-blooded teammate."The one rumored to prioritize mission completion over the lives of his teammates.

"Understood."

Although the Mission Office staff weren't particularly pleased, the previous mission incident had indeed been their fault. And since the other party was an Uchiha—with a distinctly unfriendly gaze—they didn't argue back.

"There aren't many C-rank missions available right now," the staff explained."There are four out-of-village ones left. One is escorting a merchant caravan—it requires a full squad. Two are long-term protection missions, which also require squads. The last one just came in today from villagers near Konoha. Apparently, a wild beast trampled their fields and smashed through their homes."

The staff paused briefly before continuing.

"Outside of combat-related tasks, it's rare for missions to be assigned to a single ninja. Especially escort and protection jobs—the clients believe that the more ninjas there are, the better. They can't tell who's strong and who isn't."

"So only the last one—the beast extermination—is something you can take. The rest would be D-rank missions. As for B-rank missions, there are some available, but you can only take assassination-type ones."

Uchiha Yoichi was surprised.

"I can take B-rank missions?"

Although Chunin were technically qualified for B-rank missions, those were usually handled by Chunin squads. Teamwork reduced the failure rate. Solo B-rank missions had a much higher risk, and repeated failures would damage Konoha's reputation.

"Others can't—but Yoichi-san, you can."

The moment he heard that, Yoichi realized the clan and the higher-ups must have communicated behind the scenes.

"Then help me check if there are any suitable B-rank missions."

————————————

In the end, Uchiha Yoichi accepted one C-rank beast extermination mission and one B-rank mission to eliminate an underworld organization backed by ninja support.

The former had been submitted just today. Judging by the timing, the client had likely brushed past Yoichi when he arrived at the Hokage Building.

According to the investigation report, the beast was said to be a wild boar that had escaped from the Forest of Death. It trampled a large area of farmland and then smashed through the house of a nearby village chief outside Konoha.

Terrified, the village chief had immediately rushed to Konoha to hire a ninja to kill the beast.

A creature that came out of the Forest of Death likely possessed chakra. But even if it did, it was still a mindless beast—not enough to pose a true threat to a ninja.

Uchiha Yoichi took the mission purely as a side task.

Slaughtering a single beast earned fifty thousand ryō, and he didn't have to split it with teammates. Thinking about it that way, not having a squad wasn't so bad after all.

At Konoha's main gate, Yoichi ran into the village chief who had submitted the request. The two of them headed toward the village together.

The attacked village wasn't far from Konoha—only a ten-minute walk.

Along the way, Yoichi learned more details from the village chief.

The attacker was indeed a wild boar. But its tusks were as large as an elephant's, and its body was like a small hill. The village chief had been terrified at the time. By his recollection, the creature was at least four to five meters long.

That size wasn't small even for the Forest of Death. Still, given the ninja world's abnormal ecology, it wasn't entirely surprising. After all, the Land of Grass had bamboo thicker than ten meters.

Tracking the beast was easy.

Unlike ninjas, beasts couldn't conceal their movements. The footprints it left behind were obvious.

After observing for a short while, Uchiha Yoichi prepared to move.

"Village Chief, wait here for news."

With that, he used Body Flicker Technique and vanished from the man's sight. Lightning Release Chakra Mode required daily stimulation and training of the body using Lightning chakra, so high-speed movement had become his preferred style.

————————————

Why did I turn into a wild boar?!

After waking up, Tsunade was so shocked she almost lost her sense of direction entirely.

She had been drinking at home the night before. When she woke up, she found herself in a forest on the outskirts of the village.

Her body felt completely wrong.

Her field of vision was nothing like usual. When she tried to speak, only grunts and squeals came out. She couldn't even raise her hands.

As the top medical ninja in the world, Tsunade's understanding of the human body was unparalleled. It didn't take long for her to realize—

She was no longer in a human body.

A massive frame.Short limbs.Her body caked in foul-smelling mud.And worst of all—she was starving.

"Oink—oink—OOOOINK!!"

Damn it! Which bastard dared to play a joke like this on me?! Once I turn back, I'll slaughter you!!

Tsunade roared in fury, but all that came out was the furious squealing of a mountain boar.

When she finally reached a river, she saw her reflection.

She had turned into a wild boar.

And this place looked suspiciously like the Forest of Death.

Normally, Tsunade could leave the Forest of Death in ten minutes. But now, trapped in a boar's body, she could barely mobilize chakra. Tree-climbing and water-walking were impossible. Combined with her hunger, she could only pick a direction and move forward.

After smashing through the Forest of Death's perimeter fence and spending some more time wandering, Tsunade finally reached a village near Konoha.

By then, she realized she had gone in the wrong direction—but the hunger was unbearable. She smashed into the village chief's house and found the rice storage, eating what she could.

Eating raw grain was already the absolute limit of what Tsunade could tolerate. If she had been forced to eat what wild boars normally ate, she would rather have died.

After filling her stomach, Tsunade retraced her steps toward Konoha. Her top priority now was turning back into a human.

In her memory, turning people into animals was something Jiraiya had used before.

He turned people into toads.

Turning someone into a boar… she wasn't sure.

But she was certain it wasn't Jiraiya's doing. If he dared to pull a joke this excessive, she would personally make sure he broke another twelve ribs.

Konoha Village… once I'm back, I'll look for Jiraiya. But avoiding villagers and ninjas is going to be troublesome. I can't even talk right now…

Just as Tsunade was thinking about how to reverse the transformation, the danger-sensing instinct she had honed through countless battles suddenly screamed in warning.

Her short hind legs kicked off the ground, and she leapt forward.

The moment she jumped away, six shuriken flew in from multiple directions, whistling through the air and embedding themselves into the ground where she had just been standing.

From a distant tree, Uchiha Yoichi's eyes widened slightly.

Was his shuriken throwing really that bad?

Even a wild boar managed to dodge it?
