Chapter 1 - the bronze smith

Jaehaerys Volantis

Age: 20

Height: 8 ft 1 in

Current Year: 111 AC

Status: Bastard son of Sara Targaryen and a Triarch of Volantis. Known in the city of Qohor as the Bronze Bull.

Appearance

Jaehaerys is a mountain of a man — 8'1" with the exact build and measurements of The Iron Bull. Broad shoulders, thick powerful arms and legs, a deep barrel chest, and dense muscle that makes him look like a living siege engine. His frame carries pure Qunari strength under a fully human exterior (no horns, no grey skin). He moves with surprising speed and balance for someone his size.

His face is pure Valyrian and strongly resembles a younger Maegor Targaryen: sharp aristocratic features, high cheekbones, strong jaw, and an intense, commanding presence. Long silver-white hair falls past his shoulders in thick waves, often left loose or half-tied when he works the forge. His eyes are a vivid, glowing Targaryen purple, framed by pale lashes — striking and hard to look away from.

He usually wears well-made but practical dark clothing (deep greens and blacks) that still strain across his chest and arms. When armored he becomes something out of legend: heavy golden-bronze plate with bull motifs, reinforced pauldrons, and a brutal, functional design that emphasizes his size.

Background

Jaehaerys was once a young man named Eric from another world — a college student who fell deeply into A Song of Ice and Fire, collected expensive leather-bound hardcovers, and spent countless hours playing Dragon Age: Inquisition as a Qunari. One rainy night while retrieving packages, he was struck by lightning. He awoke in the void before an entity named Rob and was offered the chance to choose templates for a new life.

He requested the full abilities of Hephaestus (from the Percy Jackson universe) and the complete physical template of The Iron Bull. Rob accepted. Jaehaerys was reborn as a massive infant — the bastard son of Sara Targaryen and a Triarch of Volantis. His mother built a powerful network of pleasure houses and businesses despite lingering bitterness toward her own father after the Great Council. She raised him well and gave him a strong start.

As a young man he left Volantis and settled in Qohor, one of Essos's great cities of craftsmanship. There he forged his own fortune through superior metalworking. He produces limited quantities of celestial bronze (stronger than any common steel) and keeps his true masterworks private. Years spent carefully building trust under a Black Swan banner taught him the difficulty of dealing with people. At twenty he is already wealthy, feared in combat, and respected in Qohor as a smith whose metal comes out cleaner and stronger than anyone else's. He continues to hunt the secrets of true Valyrian steel.

Physical & Templates

Iron Bull Template

Exact build, strength, endurance, and fighting style of The Iron Bull.

Immense size and raw power: can wield oversized two-handed weapons with ease, shatter shields, and cut through armored men.

Extreme durability and pain tolerance.

Natural affinity and respect for dragons.

Human appearance only — no horns.

Hephaestus Template (Percy Jackson)

Master-level crafting, invention, and repair.

Technokinesis: sense metal by touch, detect flaws in ore, understand machines and traps.

Near-total immunity to normal fire and smoke (further strengthened by dragon blood).

Thermal vision / heat sensing.

Limited pyrokinesis — he can coax and sustain forge-fire far longer than normal, but cannot freely summon or shape it like a true pyromancer.

Complete knowledge of magical alloys. Stygian iron knowledge currently at 57% and still improving.

Signature Gear

Bronzefury — His personal warhammer. A massive rectangular-headed hammer of celestial bronze covered in intricate runes. It bursts into dragonfire when he (or any dragon-blooded wielder) swings it. People constantly call it Valyrian steel. He corrects them. They keep doing it anyway.

Bronze Bull Armor — Custom heavy plate in golden-bronze tones with clear bull/minotaur styling. Built to his exact measurements and far stronger than any normal steel.

Darktide — His greatsword. A long, dark, almost black blade with a subtle purple sheen. Forged from his own advanced alloys. Heavy enough that most men cannot lift it properly; perfect for him.
