Jay-Jay POV
Break had just started, and the cafeteria was bustling with students grabbing snacks and chatting. I was walking beside Keifer, Adrian, Ci-N, Ciel, Yuri, Calix, Edrix, Drew, and Felix when I noticed something immediately—Keifer wasn't his usual steady self.
He looked pale. Way too pale. His eyes were unfocused, and he kept rubbing his temple like he was trying to shake something off.
"Keifer… you okay?" I asked, my voice tinged with worry.
He waved me off weakly. "I'm fine," he said, but his words were barely audible, and his posture screamed the opposite.
I kept an eye on him as we walked, but then I saw it—his knees buckled.
"Keifer!" I yelled, rushing forward. But before I could even reach him, he collapsed to the cafeteria floor. Panic hit me like a wave.
Adrian, Ci-N, and the others were instantly at his side, their faces pale. I dropped to my knees beside him, shaking him gently. "Stay with me! Keifer! Please, stay with me!"
He didn't respond. His breathing was shallow, almost imperceptible. My heart was pounding, and I could hear my own frantic thoughts screaming.
No… not him… please… not now…
Ciel grabbed his shoulders to stabilize him, while Adrian and Ci-N signaled for someone to call the nurse. The cafeteria around us erupted into chaos. Students were standing, whispering, some rushing for help.
I felt a lump in my throat as I held his hand, desperate for a sign that he was okay. "Keifer, please… talk to me. You can't leave me like this!"
Minutes felt like hours, but finally, the school nurse arrived, flanked by a few of the cafeteria staff. She knelt beside him immediately, checking his pulse and eyes.
"Help me lift him," she instructed. Together, we carefully moved him onto a stretcher. His body felt so small and fragile in my arms. I held his hand all the way, refusing to let go, my heart thundering in my chest.
The nurse gave quick instructions to Adrian and Ci-N while I stayed right beside Keifer. "Keep him stable, and Jay-Jay, stay with him. Don't let go."
As the stretcher moved through the hallway, I caught glimpses of the other Section E boys trailing behind, their faces masks of worry and confusion. Even Calix, Edrix, Drew, and Felix looked completely shaken.
Finally, we reached the school clinic. The nurse immediately set Keifer down on a bed and started checking him thoroughly. I hovered close, my hand never leaving his.
After a tense few minutes, she looked up at us. "It looks like… he's had an allergic reaction. Something he ate triggered it."
I froze, my stomach dropping. "Allergic? But… what could it be?"
The nurse shook her head. "I can't tell without checking what he ate. But he's stable now, and I've given him medication. He just needs to rest. Keep monitoring him."
I let out a shaky breath, still holding his hand. Relief mixed with fear because I knew how serious allergies could be. I glanced at the Section E boys—Adrian, Ci-N, Ciel, Yuri—they all looked as stunned as I felt, some pacing, some leaning against the wall in disbelief.
I gently touched Keifer's arm. He murmured something incomprehensible in his sleep, and I squeezed his hand tighter.
Don't scare me like that again, Keifer… I can't handle it. Not you, not now…
For the rest of the period, I stayed by his side, watching him rest, my mind racing with worry, wondering what exactly triggered the reaction and how I could make sure it wouldn't happen again.
The clinic was quiet, except for the soft beeping of the monitoring machine and the occasional footsteps of the nurse. I refused to let go of him, silently promising myself—he was not leaving this bed, not like this.
