Chapter 24 - The Success Hunters

The woman stepped forward, handing the tablet to her superior. Li Ming took it, his eyes immediately landing on a formal letter of introduction from ZX Capital, bearing the elegant yet authoritative digital signature of A.P. Markrim, Senior Portfolio Manager.

"ZX Capital was established as a strategic alliance—a hedge fund composed of billionaire interests from across Asia," Rosé explained as Li Ming scanned the details. "The core consists of Hong Kong and Singaporean capital looking to pivot away from saturated real estate markets, bolstered by massive liquidity from tech giants in South Korea and Japan seeking entry into the ASEAN markets."

The secretary paused, allowing the Chairman to digest the sheer scale of the shadow entity he was looking at.

"What makes ZX unique is their operation through Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs). This allows them to move capital with surgical speed, bypassing the bureaucratic red tape of traditional financial institutions."

Li Ming's eyes halted at the estimated figures for Assets Under Management (AUM). A flicker of genuine interest sparked within him. He wanted to know the soul of this nameless titan.

"What is their endgame? Are they here for a quick flip?" he asked, his gaze still glued to the screen.

"In elite circles, ZX is known as the 'Success Hunters,'" Rosé replied sharply. "They specialize in identifying high-value projects trapped in liquidity cages. They deploy an elite team to aggressively restructure debt and financial systems, squeezing out latent value before profiting from a merger or a high-premium exit."

Dr. Li Ming narrowed his eyes. Success Hunters. The timing was so impeccable it was almost suspicious.

"And the man coming to negotiate with you is A.P. Markrim, the Senior Portfolio Manager of ZX Capital," Rosé concluded, gesturing to the name on the screen.

Li Ming fell silent. His brilliant mind was already running simulations, weighing the value of this new player. If Lu Rong was using VCC as a weapon to execute him, perhaps he could use ZX Capital as the shield—or better yet, a counter-offensive.

The Chairman handed the tablet back to Rosé, a cunning smile spreading across his face.

"Ms. Mu... accept the request," Li Ming commanded. "Schedule a private audience with Mr. Markrim for tomorrow. Watch the clock carefully—I must see him before the press conference with Wonder Package begins."

He rose from his desk and walked to the panoramic window, looking out over the neon veins of Shanghai.

"Let's see if this Mr. Markrim can breathe new life into the CK Group... I would dearly love to see the look on Lu Rong's face when he realizes I'm negotiating with a predator even hungrier than his friends at VCC."
