Chapter 1 - The Lazy Prince - Chapter 1 - Hell!

Shun Lester was a completely lazy and indolent child compared to his peers. He was 8 years old and had just started elementary school, but he wasn't excited at all; on the contrary, he felt quite bad about the friends he would make at school. Because friends were just a waste of time and energy! But he had thought about it too much. Although everyone in his class had met and become friends when school started, Shun had never joined them, so he had gradually distanced himself from them and begun to live a completely solitary life.

Of course, Shun wasn't bothered by this; in fact, he was happy! He felt more and more exhausted with every minute he spent with those energetic children, and now that he had no friends, he was very comfortable, and this was exactly what he wanted!

No more friends to talk to him on the way home and waste his energy! No more annoying friends to disturb his peace by calling him to play while he was sitting at home reading a novel! He was completely relaxed!

He would go to school in the morning, go to a corner of the classroom, and start reading a novel he took out of his bag, and no one would bother him, not even the teachers! Because Shun was a genius! Sometimes, when he got bored of reading the novel, he would read his textbooks. But because of Shun's photographic memory, he never forgot anything he read.

Sometimes, while reading textbooks, he would solve the questions on his own and memorize them completely. After memorizing everything in his elementary school textbook and solving the problems, he would get another book and start reading and solving those too! Now, Shun could easily answer even the questions that would only be asked in high school! Some teachers had given him tests and were shocked by the results, so they decided to leave him alone.

Ordon Lester, Shun's father, was surprised to learn this and became proud of his son. Who wouldn't want their son to be amazing? Of course, he occasionally scolded him for being lazy, but Shun didn't listen and continued his laziness. Ordon couldn't help but sigh when he saw that Shun was still living lazily and not listening to him. If his school grades were bad, he would punish him severely, but there was no one better than him in school. Even those a few grades above him weren't smarter than him!

Shun ignored his father's scolding and continued his laziness. Home, school, home, school. His whole life had been like this for a year...

One day, he was returning home from school in the same way, wanting to go straight home, lie down, and read a novel he'd bought on the way.

"Welcome home, son!" Shun was greeted by his father in the large, green garden. He had a large build, long, unkempt black beard, and hair that was slightly longer than his beard; he resembled a barbarian.

Shun, on the other hand, was sweet with his oval face, green eyes, and short brown hair. His green eyes possessed a strange aura that calmed those who saw them.

When Shun entered the house, he saw his father standing in the garden and, with a surprised look, said, "Welcome?"

His surprise wasn't that his father greeted him in the garden – he did that occasionally – but rather that his father was standing with his arms crossed, carefully examining him. He felt a little strange and couldn't help but ask,

"Dad? Is something wrong?"

Ordon didn't answer, and after examining Shun's body for a while longer, he looked into his eyes and spoke slowly,

"Today, you finally turned 9, didn't you?"

Shun looked at his father even more surprised. What? Didn't he know he was turning 9 today? What was the point of asking? But he kept his thoughts to himself and answered,

"Yes."

"I see. I hope you had a good time during your lazy days."

After saying this, a slight smile appeared on his face. Seeing that smile, Shun felt a shiver run down his spine, and his face paled, because he recognized that smile! Whenever he saw that smile, something bad was about to happen! When he realized this, he tried to turn and run away, but—

"Where are you going, son? We have more work to do with you!"

Ordon had already reached him and grabbed him by the shoulders before Shun could react. Shun knew he had no chance to escape, so he turned and looked at his father, who was grinning savagely, and asked,

"D-dad, what are we going to do this time?"

Ordon's smile widened even more as he said,

"Training!"

After that, Shun's face couldn't help but fall. Training! This was probably the thing he hated most in his life. The greatest enemy of laziness and procrastination, training! Before he could say anything, his father lifted him onto his shoulders and started to lead him away...

Knowing that struggling wouldn't do any good, Shun did nothing and let himself be taken. Every time he did something wrong, his father made him train as punishment, as if he knew that this would be the greatest punishment for him, who loved laziness. Shun, knowing this, wanted to serve his punishment, go home, and lie down to read his novel, but he didn't know how wrong he'd been this time...

Soon they arrived at a large, deserted area, all bare earth. Ordon looked around and then put Shun down. Shun couldn't help but be surprised as he looked around. Where was this place? Before, his father usually took him to the park for training and made him run around a lot, but this was a vast, empty, barren area, many times larger than the park! He looked at his father and asked,

"Dad, what are we going to do here?"

Ordon looked at Shun strangely.Shun didn't understand why he was looking at him like that, and he returned the look with a strange expression.

"What do you mean, what are we going to do here? You're going to run!"

"I'm going to run?"

"Yes! You'll run!"

Shun asked, his eyes wide open and his voice slightly hushed, even though he didn't want to ask,

"How far will I run...?"

Ordon, with a smile that wasn't a smile, slowly spread across his face, and said softly,

"You'll run until you cough up blood and pass out." "

What!?"

Shun was shocked to hear this! What did he mean, running until he coughed up blood and passed out!? And was coughing up blood while running even normal!?

"If you don't run, I'll burn all your novels! And I'll never buy you any more novels!"

Shun actually wanted to turn around and run away, but after those words, he couldn't help but think. Reading novels was one of the few things he'd ever enjoyed in his life, and if he didn't read novels, he could pass the time by playing games on the computer. While thinking this, he suddenly heard Ordon's voice,

"Ah, and I'll destroy that computer too."

Hearing this, the slight smile that had formed on his face because of his earlier thoughts vanished.

Ordon felt satisfied seeing this reaction and clapped his hands, saying,

"Then, start!"

Shun started running slowly, as if reluctantly. Ordon, with his large figure, chased after him and said,

"Go faster! If you don't, I'll do what I said earlier!"

After these words, Shun cursed his father under his breath and started running even faster. Ordon chased after him again and again, threatening to destroy his novel and computer to make him run faster. Soon, Shun was already exhausted and stumbled to the ground. Seeing this, Ordon shouted,

"Get up! You haven't thrown up yet and you're still a long way from passing out, which means you're still full of energy! GET UP AND KEEP RUNNING!"

Even though he didn't want to, Shun barely managed to get up and continue running. He stumbled again for a while, but then he straightened up and continued running.

After a while, he couldn't take it anymore and bent down to throw up. Seeing this, Ordon smiled slightly and shouted again,

"Good!" "You completed the first step, but you still haven't fainted! Keep running!"

Shun couldn't take it anymore; his vision was blurring. Thinking that fainting would relieve him of this pain, he continued running, and indeed, shortly afterward, he fell to the ground, having fainted.

Ordon examined Shun for a while, then, with a slight smile, spoke to himself,

"Kid, your life is going to change a lot from now on! Don't blame me for being ruthless." After saying this, he picked Shun up and carried him home.

.....

"Ah!"

Shun woke up in his bed to a faint sound. His whole body ached! At first, he was surprised and didn't understand what had happened, but after a moment, he remembered his father taking him to a large, barren field and making him run until he fainted. His body trembled as he thought about how far he'd run. He didn't know what he'd done to deserve such a harsh punishment this time; maybe his father just wanted to train him?

As Shun was thinking these things, the door to his room suddenly opened and Ordon entered. Seeing that Shun was awake, a smile appeared on his face.

"Oh, so you're awake! You've been sleeping for a long time, your energy must be renewed, right?"

"W-what?"

Shun didn't understand what his father meant. He'd run until he fainted, and now he must have paid the price!

"What do you mean what? Get out of bed immediately! We're going to continue training!"

"What!? I've already paid my punishment! Why do I still have to train!?"

Shun looked at his father angrily and in surprise. Ordon paused briefly after saying these words, then looked at Shun seriously and spoke,

"The reason I'm training you isn't a punishment. Your life will change in the future, so I'm starting to prepare you now!"

Shun didn't understand anything. His life would change? Was he preparing for that time? What the hell was going on?! But seeing his father's serious expression, he frowned. He didn't seem to be joking at all. Even though he was only 9 years old, he had always been intelligent and thought more maturely than other children his age.

"What do you mean?"

he asked his father seriously. Seeing this reaction, Ordon smiled slightly.

"Even if I explained it now, you wouldn't understand. So just do what I say, otherwise you'll have a lot of trouble in the future."

Although he didn't want to believe Ordon's serious face and words, he forced himself to believe it. But he couldn't help but wonder what would happen to him in the future?

Seeing Shun thinking silently, Ordon spoke,

"Come on, get up!" "From now on, your life will turn into hell!"

Shun couldn't help but chuckle crookedly upon hearing this. 'Your life will turn into hell' was truly the best description of his situation. He loved laziness more than anything, but he had to spend a long time with the arch-enemy of laziness: training...

"What kind of training are we doing?"

Ordon thought for a moment at this question and slowly said,

"Hmm, actually, it wouldn't be right to call it training. It would be more accurate to call it a kind of education. And if you ask what kind of education... Everything."
