Dionne
The knock on my door came before dawn had fully broken.
I jerked awake from a fitful sleep, my heart already racing before my eyes had even opened. The thin blanket had tangled around my legs during the night, and I kicked free of it as I scrambled upright.
My feet touched the cold floor, and the pain that I expected didn't follow. Silas's ointment and bandages seem to have worked wonders, and with proper food in my system, my wolf had finally been able to heal the cuts.
"Yes?" My voice came out hoarse and cracked.
"The King requires your presence." The voice belonged to one of the guards, muffled through the thick wood. "You have five minutes."
I heard his footsteps retreat down the corridor before I could respond.
