Chapter 42 - Eyes Full of Stars

Ichigo clutched Haru's hand tight as they stepped into the festival grounds, his little mouth falling open in a perfect "O" of wonder. The summer night festival was in full swing—rows of colorful paper lanterns swaying in the breeze, casting a warm, magical glow over everything. Stalls lined the paths with games, food, and trinkets, the air thick with the sweet smell of candied apples, salty takoyaki, and popping corn. Music drifted from a stage—taiko drums thumping, flutes lilting.

"Papa! Look! Lights in trees!" Ichigo pointed up, bright brown eyes huge, wavy black hair bouncing as he jumped. His tiny yukata—blue with dino print Chris picked—swished around his legs.

Haru smiled soft, crouching to his level. "Yeah, buddy. Like stars came down to party with us."

Chris walked beside them, light green yukata making his hazel eyes pop, light brown hair tied back loose. He grinned playful, ruffling Ichigo's hair. "And check the stalls—goldfish, rings, candy! Where first, captain?"

Ichigo's head swiveled wild. "Everything! Fish! Candy! Games!"

They started slow—goldfish scoop. Ichigo gripped the paper net serious, tongue out concentration. First try—splash, miss. Second—closer. Third—success! Tiny orange fish in bag.

"I catched it!" Ichigo yelled, jumping. "Dino-Fish friend!"

Chris cheered loud. "High-five, champ! Master scooper!"

Haru snapped photos—Ichigo's face pure magic, eyes reflecting lantern glow.

Food next: cotton candy pink and fluffy—Ichigo's hands sticky mess, face smeared happy. "Cloud taste sweet!"

Takoyaki hot, Chris blowing each bite cool for him. Ichigo brave first chew, eyes wide. "Yummy balls!"

Games galore: ring toss—Ichigo won small fan with Chris's "lucky throw" help. Shooting gallery—Haru nailed prizes, stuffed bear for Ichigo.

Lantern stall: paint your own. Ichigo drew wobbly dino breathing fire (crayon flames epic). Haru added hearts, Chris stars. Hung proud on string.

As sky darkened, fireworks time. Found grass spot, blanket spread. Ichigo between them, head Haru's lap, Chris arm around.

First boom—sky exploded gold. Ichigo gasped loud. "Papa! Flowers in sky! Big ones!"

Chris whispered. "Magic flowers, just for you."

More bursts—reds cascading, blues sparkling, greens swirling. Ichigo ooh-ed every one, hands clapping, "Again! Again!"

Haru watched his wonder—eyes full stars reflection, mouth open awe. Heart swelled big.

Finale thundered—sky lit rainbow. Ichigo hugged them both. "Best night! Love festival! Love Papa! Love Chris!"

Walk home slow—Ichigo sleepy on Haru's shoulders, prizes bag swinging, Dino-Fish bowl careful.

Apartment quiet, Ichigo out fast—yukata folded, memories tucked.

Living room dim, lanterns glow memory. Chris pulled Haru close. "His wonder... contagious."

Haru arm tight. "Yep. Pure kid magic."

Kiss started soft—festival joy lingering. Turned heated quick. Chris backed Haru wall, lips hungry. Tongues urgent, breaths ragged.

Yukata ties loosened slow—fabric sliding open, skin warm. Shirts under shed—Chris's lifted, Haru's unbuttoned teasing. Skin met hot, slim pressing medium.

Haru lifted Chris gentle, carrying bedroom. Laid down soft, mouth neck—kissing slow, nipping gentle. Chris arched, gasp breathy, grinding instinctive.

Remaining clothes pushed away impatient. Bare, sweat-slick. Bodies aligned—Haru's hand wrapping firm, stroking rhythm rolls. Chris bucked, moans soft, legs tight.

Haru's free hand traced thigh, deepening friction. Pleasure coiled intense—eyes locked, hazel wonder echo, brown full love. Whispers: "His magic," Chris panted; "Ours too," Haru husky.

Climax shared—Chris tensing beautiful, release crashing muffled cry. Haru followed, shuddering deep.

Tangled after, breaths evening. Chris smiled lazy. "Festival high best."

Haru kissed temple. "With you—always."

Morning routine: pancakes retelling fireworks, Ichigo "Dino-Fish" updates. Festival wonder lingered—Ichigo's eyes full stars forever.
