Whatever fragile relief West had felt shattered at this moment as he let out a long, controlled sigh.

Over twenty of the red-furred, blue-limbed creatures pooled forward immediately, forming a loose semicircle.
Their eight eyes blinked in uneven patterns.
They emitted that same strange high pitched sound, but now it felt almost anticipatory.
Behind them, the blood pool bubbled violently as something large moved beneath the surface.
All of a sudden, an arm emerge which was longer than the arm of the others in the surrounding... it was still blue like theirs but much thicker.
And then, a torso rose from the crimson liquid... displaying the full figure of a being that was easily eight feet tall.
It resembled the smaller creatures but it was more refined...
