Iron wood of gate splintered under weight of a hundred frozen corpses. Link hit bottom of lift just as bar snapped. Heavy timber flew across courtyard. Night's Watch brothers scrambled back while drawing steel.

[Stamina 30 percent]
"Form a line!" Jon Snow yelled. He stood beside Link with Longclaw raised.
Dead men poured through gap like a flood of gray water. They moved with jagged and unnatural speed. Jaime Lannister met first wight with a torch. He swung wood in wide arcs. Flames licked at blue eyes. Creature hissed as it turned to ash.
"Where is King?" Jaime panted. "If he does not arrive soon, we are just fuel for their fire!"
Link looked at System map. Red dots filled tunnel. More dots circled outside walls. Suddenly ground began to shake. It was not magic this time. It was rhythmic beat of a thousand hooves hitting frozen earth.

A horn sounded from southern hills. It was deep and golden. It was sound of a king at war.
"Ours is the Fury!"
Voice of Robert Baratheon rose above wind. High gates of Castle Black were not built to keep out cavalry. Heavy doors swung open as Robert led charge. He was a mountain of fur and steel atop a massive warhorse. He held his hammer high.
Cavalry smashed into rear of wight swarm. Weight of horses crushed bone and rotted flesh. Robert swung his weapon. Every strike sent bits of ice and bone flying into air.
"Ned!" Robert roared while seeing his friend. "I told you I would not miss a good fight!"
Link felt surge of hope. He stepped forward into breach. He used his new skill to temper his blade in lingering heat of a brazier. Steel glowed with orange light.

He cut through three wights in a single motion. Blade did not stick. It burned. Dead fell and did not rise again.
"Push them back into tunnel!" Link commanded.
Jaime and Jon followed his lead. With cavalry outside and brothers inside, tide began to turn. Tunnel became a furnace as archers dropped jars of oil from above.
Robert pulled his horse to a halt near Link. King was covered in black blood and soot. He looked alive for first time in years.
"You were right, boy," Robert laughed while wiping his brow. "This is better than any hunt in Kingswood!"
Link looked toward forest. Danger was not gone. But for now, Wall still stood.
