Chapter 31: Need a Wand?

The next morning, Morgan walked inside Harry's 'new house' through an entrance she had crafted on the side of her shop.

"Oh… not bad." Her amber eyes scanned the entrance hall and could not find a single particle of dust.

All the furniture had also been cleaned and restored to its prime, looking brand new.

She found Harry sleeping on the couch; the small book of household spells was lying on the floor, right next to him.

"Looks like you made good use of it." It was then that Morgan realized she had overlooked one important fact.

That book of spells, as well as every modern one, was designed for the use of wands.

Something that Harry was currently lacking.

Right now, he didn't even have his staff to aid him in the crafting of spells and had to rely on using his own body to focus the magic.

A smile appeared on Morgan's face as she understood the feat that it would be to translate these modern spells into something he could use with his ancient methods.

"Looks like you still have all your skills… Merlin."

Her expression turned complicated. "Perhaps, with you around, we can finally start to fight back against that darkness…"

"Mmmm…" Harry moaned before opening his eyes and finding Morgan staring down at him. "Were you saying something?"

"I was saying that I am impressed by your work. The place looks spotless."

Harry stood up from the couch and stretched his limbs. "Of course. I would not want to live in a filthy place."

"Perhaps you would like to clean my shop later?" Morgan asked in a mocking tone, earning a frown from Harry.

Morgan lifted the bag she was carrying and placed it on the couch. "I have brought you a few books so you can get up to date on how things work in current times."

Harry opened the bag and began taking out one tome after the next, placing them on the coffee table next to him.

Most of them appeared to be history books, as well as a few about politics.

"There are going to be some important gaps in there. My collection of history books is not that complete, since it's not one of my main interests," Morgan commented. "I'll try to get you a few more."

"Thank you. This will be of great help. I cannot help but keep wondering how we got this far. Humanity has changed so much in the past millennia."

"Well, have fun with that. I'm going to see if I can get you a wand," Morgan said.

"A wand? Why would I want that? What I wish to have is my old staff. Some of my most powerful spells rely on making use of it," Harry said.

"I told you before that getting that won't be easy. It's currently in the hands of a Spanish collector. Well, two to be exact. They are twins, and they are called th—"

"Spanish?" Harry sounded confused.

Morgan rolled her eyes. "Hispania was the name given by the Romans. Read the history books first… It's going to save us a lot of trouble."

"Oh… Hispania, I see. How did my staff end up on a different land?" Harry asked.

"How should I know? I found out about it by chance when an old client was telling me about a curious staff collection he found while traveling to Spain. I'm not one hundred percent sure it's yours, but the description seems to match," Morgan explained.

Harry sighed. "Very well." He knew that retrieving all of his most important belongings after all this time was going to be a lengthy and difficult endeavor, so he couldn't ask for more than what Morgan was already doing.

And it appeared that all modern magic was designed to work with these wands, so it wouldn't be a terrible idea for him to get one of those.

"I would agree to use one of those wands for the time being."

"It's not that easy. You have to find the right fit for you, and we cannot go to Ollivanders. That shop is on the main street of the alley, and there are currently a lot of people looking for you."

"Perhaps a disguise?" Harry suggested.

Morgan shook her head. "That old man is very crafty. He would see right through any disguise and then inform the Ministry or Albus Dumbledore."

"Dumbledore?" Harry reacted to hearing that name. "That's the wizard who visited me in the hospital. He said to come from a school of magic… what was the name again?"

"Hogwarts. He is the Headmaster, but also holds a political charge at the Ministry of Magic," Morgan said. "The man is a big deal in Britain. They say he is the most powerful wizard since…well, since you."

"Really? Then I would like to speak with him," said Harry. He always liked to have lengthy conversations with other sorcerers and warlocks and discuss magical practices.

"That would be a terrible idea. I already told you that Harry Potter is a famous boy, and the Ministry is going crazy trying to locate you. And this man in particular, Dumbledore… he seems to have a personal agenda that includes you for some reason. If you don't want to get tangled in all of that mess, it's best not leave this place for now."

"I see… You are probably right. I don't wish to get entangled in something complicated at the moment," Harry nodded.

He still had much to learn.

"We'll figure out a way for you to go out in secret. As for the wand… I have an acquaintance here in Knockturn Alley that could help us acquire something good while keeping a low profile," Morgan said.

"Looks like you are already used to this kind of deal," Harry pointed out.

Morgan had a stern look on her face as she spoke. "You are not the only one who had to live in hiding, Merlin."
