Chapter 81 - A Shield, Not a Chain

The cathedral erupted into absolute bedlam. Enock, pushed past the point of reason by his father's cold-blooded betrayal, didn't wait for security. He vaulted over the altar rail, his face contorted with rage, and threw a devastating punch that sent the "stranger" sprawling across the marble floor.

"Who paid you?!" Enock roared, pinning the man down as guests screamed and rose from their seats. "Tell them! Tell them right now!"

Within seconds, the heavy oak doors of the cathedral were pushed open by members of the press who had been waiting outside. Cameras flashed like lightning in the dim sanctuary. A reporter shoved a microphone toward Mileh, who was trembling so violently she could barely stand.

"Mileh! Is it true? Is the Armitage heir a bastard?" the reporter shouted.

Mileh looked into the lens, tears streaming down her face. "I don't know who he is! I have never seen that man in my life! This is a lie... a cruel, calculated lie!"
