Chapter 199 - Chapter 199: Retreat

Chapter 199: Retreat

As Raptorex watched him "power up," changes began to occur on his own body as well.

  Buzz buzz!!

Blades radiating cold light began growing out of him one by one. In no time, rings of massive, gear-like blades appeared all over his enormous body, slowly rotating.

Even his two gigantic arms transformed into masses of sharp, gear-shaped blades.

The Cutting Fruit didn't just allow one to turn into blades—it allowed transformation into anything that possessed cutting power.

In an instant, Raptorex became a hundred-meter-tall monster covered head to toe in gear blades.

Woooo—   As the coldly gleaming blades began to spin, the rapidly rotating edges sliced through the air, producing tearing sounds. The air vibrated as strands of black radiance coiled around Raptorex 's body, as if he had entered a subspace.

"A mere pirate crew isn't worthy of harboring a powerhouse like you. Why not join the World Government and obtain supreme glory and everything else?"

Standing opposite Raptorex like a mosquito, the ghost-god CP0 narrowed his eyes at this transformation and spoke in a deep voice.

He could sense it—this giant was extremely powerful, a warrior capable of matching him.

"You… scared?" Raptorex's sun-like eyes stared at him as he rumbled.

  "Scared… I don't know what fear is!"

"Since I gave you a chance and you don't know how to cherish it, then fall here!"

A cold gleam flashed through the ghost-god CP0's eyes.

  Boom!!

A burst of compressed air exploded as his figure vanished from where he stood.

The next moment, carrying an aura that shook space itself, he appeared on Raptorex's right side and slammed his fist toward the rapidly spinning blades.

A wind vortex dozens of meters wide formed in midair and crashed down violently.

Raptorex swung his massive hand out, and at the same time foresaw the future, slapping out with his other hand to the side.

Boom!!   A terrifying shockwave spread like divine wrath, sparks flying everywhere.

The ghost-god CP0 vanished at the instant of impact.

  Boom…

He collided squarely with Raptorex's other palm. The overwhelming force sent him flying back like a kite with its string cut.

  Boom!!

Raptorex leapt upward, rocketing above the ghost-god CP0 like a cannonball. A colossal fist that blotted out the sky smashed down.

  "Blazing Asura!"

  A loud shout rang out.

  Buzz buzz…

A gigantic, fiery-red Asura phantom appeared, its enormous flaming fist meeting Raptorex's attack head-on.

Boom!!   The shockwave, spreading over a kilometer, pressed the sea into a vast semicircle, while the clouds in the sky were blown apart.

Raptorex was blasted upward, his hundred-meter body flung dozens of meters into the air.

At the same time, the ghost-god CP0 was hurled toward the sea by the rebound force.

He twisted his body midair and landed on the ocean surface. The rolling heat waves around him actually allowed him to remain standing on the water, not sinking into it.

He took a moment to glance across the battlefield and discovered that both the Clown and Wu'e were being suppressed. His eyes immediately shrank.

He knew his two subordinates' strength well. While their physical bodies weren't on par with Marine Admirals, their abilities were absolutely the kind that even Admirals had to fear—one careless mistake, and they could be killed.

Yet now, they were being pressed back by a mere pirate crew.

For CP0, this was a severe blow.

  "Retreat."

After a moment's thought, he finally issued the order.

The Clown was already close to his limit, and that summoner-type ability was far too strange—completely countering him.

  "We should've retreated long ago."

Beneath the clown mask, the corners of a fair-skinned face twitched, his eyes filled with apprehension.

He was so suppressed now that he could only defend with his weapons. This was the first time he had ever fought such a stifling battle.
